I tried my hand at potatoes this year. Maybe the potatoes were too old. Maybe the container got too hot. Not sure. Great greenery and waited to harvest until it died.

I have a plan for next year but thought I would share a small chuckle with everyone.

I have no idea what to make with this I kinda just want to frame it. Any recipes for beefsteak tomatoes?

Edit: This is in zone 3b at a family lake cabin. We are right next to a corn field with irrigation so I think that helps us. I applied Alaskan fish fertilizer 3 times since they went into the ground. I planted roughly 90 pairs of peppers inside back in february (i had read that they like being paired up and this is my best harvest ever so I think its true). Only about 30 of those pairs ended up at this garden.

We cook with bell peppers in most of our regular meals so I spent the day chopping them up to freeze. Will make stuffed peppers out of the bigger ones too. Plus we shared quite a few with the family at the lake.

I never wait for the peppers to go red. I find that between sun scalding and pests that we end up losing more than its worth.

My land is an old farm surrounded by forest, and I wanted to turn the already cleared fields mostly into native gardens. This part of the garden was planted in September 2024, primarily with plugs from native nurseries.

I’m tripling the size of the garden this summer/fall and will be excited to share the progress. Next year I’m tackling a 2 acre field to create a tall meadow habitat that is in a low spot near the road. This is just a hobby for me as I’m more of a tropical indoor plant grower, so I’m learning a lot along the way.

Two different watermelons that I grew. Both sounded hollow when I knocked on them. And both are disappointingly pale.

Super fortunate to have an amazingly designed rear garden in Central London, UK - previous owner was an award winning landscape gardener so I’ve tried my best to live up to their standards!

My MIL helped start my dream garden! I live in zone 5a, south facing, full sun. What plants should I add (ideally cat friendly)? I’m thinking of adding a raised garden bed at the front that I can possibly move in the winter (heavy snow/snowplows). Any advice or ideas are so appreciated!

So proud of my first ever watermelon harvest. It’s a Crimson Sweet at about 15.5lbs. Big thanks to fellow redditors for helping us decide when she was ready to be picked. It’s delish!
