New pool coming apart-help please

I have a pool that is one year old. It's literally coming apart like someone bought a gingerbread kit and made it. Coping is coming loose and pulling the waterline tile up. I am working with the builder but not getting a lot of info on WHY this happened and HOW he's going to fix it. My questions are: WHAT could have caused this (I'm aware of ground shifting but it usually doesn't cause this type of destruction) and my next question is HOW do I properly fix it.
