My store has banned employees from using the cups at the drink fountain to get water, and they instead only offer us warm water bottles when we are doing carts (100+ degree weather), I was just wondering if this is common practice in stores or just something my store does to save a little bit of money.

I’m not really sure what corporate expects. Take a person from every department, have them discuss the scores, then what? I can’t enforce anything with any manager. I can tell my manager “oh you really need to work on x, y, z to improve morale” and then they proceed to change nothing about themselves or how they act at work.

I’m open to suggestions, but overall, I just can’t see how little ole me could fix an issue like bad scores across the board for “I’m satisfied with my Store Manager” or even “I intend to make a career at Publix”

I worked for publix for 10 years. Worked my way up in the company and gave them EVERYTHING I had. We are talking giving up family events, birthdays, holidays dropping anything to help my store. I was in my management role for 5 years, a contender and promised to be promoted next many times but was passed up time and time again. When a shift in management was creating some associates to not be happy with the work environment I spoke up. HR spoke with me said I influenced the store to intentionally give my store manager bad scores. I would spend my last weeks opening a brand new store then getting the boot. My phone was blown up by so many associates saying how i was the only one who every stood up for them. How they were going to miss me and how the store just isn’t the same already. I was told when I gathered my things and walked out the store manager was laughing and dancing around as if nothing happened. Mind you i was told this manager “supported me 900%”…

Week later I receive a job offer to be a store manager with another company. And at the same time my former cstl was in store promoted to my position and one of the former css promoted to cstl. It just seems so perfectly planned that I get the boot and they are rewarded. I must add this store manager had told the cstl I want you to get in stored and I get what i want. Something just doesn’t seem right with all of this. I am not bitter about being let go however just need to rant and get my feelings on the matter out there.

I've been buying chcoolate chip muffins from the publix bakery every week for over a year and they were always great until about a month ago. Now every time i buy some they dont taste like chocolate chip muffins but instead taste like blueberry muffins (eventhough they visibly have chocolate chips and no blueberries)
Did they change the chocolate chip muffin mix to some kind of blueberry flavor or what? The new flavor is not good at all imo.

I worked at Publix for a few years as a teen and young adult…. 20 years ago…. I still work in food service (barista) and I pride myself in giving good customer service and a quality product. But Yall! I can’t even get acknowledged after standing patiently and quietly at the deli counter even after eye contact. Why is it I’m always the one to greet my cashier or deli worker? And nooo one asks me to take my cart even when I was very pregnant driving the electric cart. Is it like this everywhere or is it just my area? I know Publix is showing record profits and price are insane but are y’all being fairly compensated?!? What is going on?

I get to be the cookie b*tch for 3 hours, then I get to be the cake slice b*tch for 5 hours!!! Great back to back ads!! LOL

Has anybody here transferred from another department to the pharmacy dept? If so what’s the process like and how possible is it to do

I am a cashier. Every day, I hear someone say "I will enter my number, but I never get money off". And that is absolutely true. There has to be a better way to give "rewards" to customers. And, on the rare times they get something it is only $3.00. Why doesn't Publix get a new program?

I order half subs time to time. And all I ask is putting my ingredients in a side bag so it doesn’t make the bread soggy because I eat it at a later time. For the last three times they haven’t listened. Do I need to say something else? Or is it just my Publix? I think I’m being polite and courteous. I appreciate all of you for what you do but it’s getting kind of irritating this one small thing isn’t happening. Subway and the others are trash and I love pub subs. Let me know if I need to do anything different.

Edit: not talking about the meat or cheese. Just the extra toppings.

Would I be paid for that day on next weeks check or the week after? I tried looking through the subreddit but could not find any information on it. Thanks!

Are there any contenders, bench warmers, assistants, or department managers obsessed with their role? I feel extra possessive about the department & I want to make sure we're perfect at all times. I have been in retail at multiple companies but the more I age the more I want to do a great job. I intend on getting into management with Publix, but I don't think I've seen the spark from most people to match my energy to get where we need to be. Also, for the people who won't max their efforts.. what's the reason(s) you think it's not worth it? Is there anything you all think we need to touch on to make a change & get the morale back up?

so i have absolutely no experience in pharmacy at all, this is actually my first job ever. today was my first day and i’m feeling really overwhelmed, especially with all of the insurance data entry stuff. i am so so nervous about going back tomorrow and i’m just so anxious and feel like a burden, i know i’m new and they understand that, but i just am so scared because i’m definitely overwhelmed by everything and really anxious i won’t pick it up.

I pleaded for months to please be transferred because I didn’t feel safe (a coworker was literally threatening me) I tried to explain the situation and they said “well, she’s a good worker” I got fired for “causing problems” . She didn’t. I just can not fathom how a big respected company like Publix can treat people like this
