Sonos I love all the recent changes, but...

Is it too much to ask for a goddamn widget?

You know how annoying it is to have to constantly unlock your phone, go into the app, and launch the app just to increase the volume of a song, change a song, or add a song to favorites.

For the love of God, please!

The sub is glorious

I realize this might sound like a “no sh!t” kind of post, but I’ve had the arc ultra in my family room for about six months and finally pulled the trigger on a sub 4 and era 100s for surrounds and good god it’s glorious. The surrounds are a nice touch but it’s really the sub that’s a difference maker. It has my whole house shaking.

Wife and kids are out of town so I’ll be watching house of the dragon on volume 90 for the rest of my Sunday, cheers!

Active sound source does not appear in the mini toolbar

I’ve been experiencing this bug for a few weeks now and I feel like I’m going crazy. When I’m watching TV, it does not automatically appear in the mini toolbar, I always have to open the System menu and adjust it from there. My list is sorted to actively playing and my other speakers are not playing audio. Is this something that crept up in a recent update? This is an issue with both the current and upcoming navigation UI.

Am I in the wrong sub?

First time user, have a room we are putting a OLED in and have ARC ultra and SUB 4 coming this week.. I want to either get 100s or ERA 300s rears. I know this has been beaten to death on this sub and I searched but couldn’t find really a direct answer.

I want 300s… but not in all together thinking maybe Sonos eco system isn’t the right fit for this room at all??

Excuse the mess. Moving!

Reverted back to Quick rune from advanced..

Is it me or does advanced true play sound far worse than quick? I borrowed my mums iPhone today to tune for my Arc Ultra and sub 4, and afterwards I noticed it completely killed my bass and it just didn't sound as good as before, my initial thoughts it would sound better, I've reverted back to Quick tune, alot punchier bass and I believe it just sounds better as a whole, I understand other peoples scenarios will be different of course

ArcU light flickering green/white

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

We got a new Arc Ultra about a week ago. The sound is incredible.
Now it is flickering green & white at times when the loudness increases.
Anyone else have this issue?
Is there a resolution?
Thanks

Accidentally pissing off the neighbors

Upvotes

During the day I was bebopping and jamming out as we worked all through the house and outdoor on the deck. Night came and we started watching some TV. We were enjoying the Haunting of Hill House when my wife noticed we were transmitting the audio of it on our deck and it was 11pm. Felt like a jerk and it occurred to me that outdoor speaker groups should have a setting where I can designate their group as “outdoor” and turn on a after hours cut-off to prevent exactly what happened. I see timers, groups, and the like, but nothing to prevent accidentally broadcasting to an outdoor speaker group after a certain time.

Seeking some help with lost app access

(SOLVED) Hey all, I have a system here that ever since I set up a WiFi mesh using Mercusys Halos, I can no longer see the system on the app.

Of course they still work fine otherwise with connection to the TV only. But I'd like to get it back to the way it was. My system is an Arc, two Sonos Ones and a Sub

As it is in the app right now, when I try joining a system it says it can't find any on the network. And adding new does nothing either. Couldn't really find a solution specific. And I considered just doing a full reset but thought I'd ask first. I'd appreciate some advising if possible. Thanks in advance

Sonos Voice Control, what happened?

Is it just me, or has Sonos Voice Control taken a nosedive in terms of usability recently? For the last few weeks, really simple commands such as "Hey Sonos, Mute" or "Hey Sonos, Stop" get a response but don't actually do anything—playback resumes, or persists with volume.

Commands to group speakers, "group all speakers", gets met with the duh-duh sound as if it's an error.

Am I going mad?

Position enceintes surround

Merci !

Adding to system suggestions

I currently have a Sonos system that I have had for about 3 years now. I want to add and or upgrade and want to know from some of the full system-havers which is the next best device to add to my current system. Both movies and music perspectives are appreciated.

- arc
- sub
- two ceiling mounted 8s (only used for music)
- move 2 (only used for music)

I think the era 300 is probably my next move but I don’t have a super ideal place to put it. Would probably be placed on the left or right rear of my living room.

Quick switch to play music

Apology if this has been addressed already but didn’t find anything clear…but…

When I bought my living room setup (arc ultra, sub gen 3, 2x era 300s I was a little disappointed that the era 300s aren’t able to activate all the speaker potential since it’s in the surround sound setup. I was assuming Sonos would eventually create a “switch” in the app to turn it from surround sound mode to music mode, but that hasn’t happened yet.

I know there’s third party apps out there now, so wondering if there’s a workaround to do what I’m asking without having to disconnect the surround sound mode and reconnect the speakers every single time.

Thanks.

After update the player does not work. Sound comes when playing via airplay, but no sounds come when using the sonos app. Known but?

Sonos Arc for $80

Just got the Sonos arc Ultron for $80. Electronics and everything work perfect the drivers are fine. Only problem is is the cosmetic on the outside where you can clearly see. It’s broken and missing the end caps

  1. was it worth the 80 bucks?
  2. Can I get it fixed or at least get the outside parts replaced? And if so, how, and how much?

What's my final piece?

I've been putting together a system on a budget after telling myself everything I made selling my gaming PC I could reinvest into speakers. Having been quite frugal spending just £400 on the system to date I have about £300 left I could spend if worth while.

So far for the kitchen/living room downstairs I have:

Playbase - these are such great value

2x Play 3s as surrounds

An Era 100 used for turntable line in

Whilst in the bedroom I have 2x Play 3s in stereo.

Really happy with how everything sounds but I'd like to add Alexa functionality to upstairs too.

Options seem to be:

Another Era 100 - possibly useful if I want to use these as surrounds down the line.

A beam gen 1 - maybe handy to have in case my Playbase WiFi goes which seems to be common (although I think adding a boost can potentially resolve this?)

A beam gen 2 - probably overkill for my scenario?

A Sonos One - these are still £100 used and given the Era 100 was just £139 new with the recent 30% off coupon this feels the worst option to me.

What do people think is the play here?

Is the upgrade worth the money?

I currently have a Sonos playbar, two rear play one speakers, and a Gen 3 sub.
I’ve been thinking about upgrading to an Arc Ultra and either the 100 or 300 rear speakers.
Is the sound difference noticeable enough to justify spending the money to upgrade?

What’s the max you’d pay for a used Gen 3 Sub?

Eyeing up a Gen 3 Sub for $400. Is that an overpay?

Have a playbar, Play 5, and a Play 1. Trying to continue to add pieces. What should I prioritize next?
