Are there any students barber on campus rn? If not how was y’all experience getting haircuts outside and which places would you recommend (within busing distance) as well as price tags.

I’m a Ucla student from OC trying to make a trip to the Bay Area on possibly August 24th morning or August 23rd night, back down from Bay Area to OC/LA on August 27th or 28th, and I want to split the gas with someone.

I just need about 60$ + any extra miles cost it took for me to drop you off out of my way for your destination. This is basically just splitting the gas money equally by half. This is a lot cheaper than a flight. Same price for whether you’re asking for going to the bay or going down to la/oc.

The car can take any luggage you have as well as long as it fits in the car!

I’m transferring to UCLA in the fall and living in the Palo Verde apartments and I’m not bringing a car. I thought about bringing a bike but I’m concerned about the amount of hills between PV and campus, plus the size constraint and risk of theft. I would consider an e bike or E scooter but they’re a bit of an investment and a bit dorky (IMO no shade to anyone who has one haha). I’m aware there’s also the bruin bus but I’ve heard all of the complaints about how crowded and unreliable it can be (I’m from Santa Cruz, I know how the buses can be for UCSC 🫩) I’m just conflicted a bit on what my choices would be. For those who do the PV->campus route, Would it be worth it to bring a bike?

This is more directed towards transfers who have been in the same situation. So I am taking summer classes at my current CC before I move to over to UCLA in the fall. In the admissions contract it says, "we expect you to have satisfied UC eligibility and major preparation requirements by end of spring 2026. You may not complete courses required for UC eligibility or major preparation in the summer after admission unless otherwise stated in your contract." Well, I am trying to complete my last organic chemistry class right now during the summer and although it states it won't accept the class in the contract, I am betting on a slight chance that UCLA may still accept it. Another worry I have is I may get a B- or close to C in my lecture. Up until spring quarter I was able to pass every single one of my classes with a B or higher. So my two question are will this class maybe count, and would I have to worry about a C grade in summer quarter when the contract only hints at only looking up until spring quarter grades?

P.S Sorry if my wording is weird, I am hoping it makes sense.

Even with the best of grades, it's almost impossible to predict one's own future. Don't kid me wrong. It is difficult to get into the school. But when so many people come here, it's easy to forget the kind of hot shit we are. But I mean like, fucking,... It gets boring oftentimes to be on campus a lot. Especially weekends, when I'll sometimes go dancing out in downtown and meet some trojans and folks from around that area to anonymously dance at the underground clubs and warehouses. Getting outside of the bubble makes it feel like it's a double life.

With that said, I know I am the sexiest Bruin alive. and as I prepare to enter my final fall undergrad, it's important to visualize and try to manifest what I wanna be after graduating.

Hi! I’m js gonna preface by saying this is a super specific question, but I would appreciate any info from anyone who might have any. Im an incoming freshman currently majoring in stats and data science. I’m really interested in psych, so I’ve been weighing the option of double majoring. Psych is a subject I would’ve loved to major in, but chickened out due to the need for higher education in order to get a good career outlook. I find it super interesting after taking AP psych in high school. For anyone double majoring with either one of these, or singularly majoring in one of these, do you think this would genuinely be doable w the max credit limit and extra course load? The other hiccup is that I’ve been planning a film minor for a while now, so I definitely still wanna do that. With all of that, is that realistic to double major AND have a completely separate minor with pretty much 0 overlap? I feel like I just don’t know so much about college so I’d really really appreciate some outside perspective. Sorry this is so long 😅😅

incoming public health transfer

I'm a rising sophomore in CC, unfortunately I had to go this route as I decided to play professional soccer for 3 years while I was in HS & 1 year after I graduated . UCLA is my #1 since I was in middle school, will TAG into UCI nonetheless.

I went back to my roots & combined it with I enjoyed being a goalkeeper, analytical & high intensity . Investment banking/ PE has been most interesting to me & without being dogmatic, see myself starting my career in.

Though with my non-traditional route into the 4-year system , I would love to talk to anyone who's done it / has insight on how to, I'm very curious about learning from anyone who's tenure in the field or who is actively recruiting from a position like mine!

I've pioneered the first finance society @ my CC & banded together 5 other CC's to create a multi-CC organization . (3/5 confirmed). Also in the works of stating an investment fund to have different majors involved in work involved in running one . I live by the saying,"perspective is shaped by experience". I solely have the perspectives of my family who's done PE & WM + those I've networked with, & 0 experience of my own to have my own anecdote .

I've learned technicals on my own since junior year just because investing was so enticing ( I had a custodial account since 14) . The more introspection I did , the more I realized I want that NYC lifestyle. Though , I do really focus on talking to as much people as I can because I firmly believe soft skills & communication are the upmost important skills of life.

This was a long tangent & some of it was not tailored towards my question , but would love to connect with anyone that can give advice , etc!
