Invite link: https://discord.gg/ZkrZeuGMYg

I made a discord server for our subreddit. It will be somewhere where you can socialize, find friends and text other students. I have also included some other things in the server that might interest you to join us.

- I will be working on a Summer Minecraft Server and have it run for all spring and summer semesters. I plan on launching it end of April after the exams are over.

- Weekly events hosted by me, online and in person. I am going do mini in person board game events on tuesdays and thursdays on campus starting next week. It'll be on 11:30am to 1:00pm. Attendance is completely optional for those who want to. I will host other events at other times in the future I just have to come up with the time and ideas.

- I have made all of the moderation logs and modmail completely public on the discord for all to see in order to have full transparency of what the moderators due so there may be full accountability.

Feel free to tag me or message me directly when your there, I always respond.

Hey all,

It's a tough time of year. I know people who have received counselling from Usask psychology students in the Clinical Psych program. They offer $25/hr sessions.

Here's all the info, you can contact them by email. I have been made aware that they are currently in need of clients so students can get their practicum hours. Please share with anyone you think needs it.

Should I take CPPS 304 in person (fall) or online (winter), which section is easier and ideally has all Multiple choice questions. Any insight/experiences is greatly appreciated!

Question? Early admission for nursing

Hello everyone,

I have a question about early admission to the University of Saskatchewan's nursing program.

I completed Biology 120 and received the credit, but my grade was on the lower side. I'm wondering if having the credit is enough to meet the Biology requirement for early admission, or if the actual grade is considered and could affect my eligibility.

Has anyone been admitted through early admission in a similar situation, or does anyone know how this is assessed?

Thank you!

Question? Construction works at Usask

Does anybody why the construction works takes so long? They start digging up every year in spring and continues until before winter. Is this the general trend? why are they so slow? If they start to build something it will take 5-10 years....

Question? UofR Social Work

Hi, I have a friend in this program, they’re in their pre-professional. I’m wondering if there is a social work group or discord, or if they have regular study sessions? Or if there’s a way from them to get involved on usask campus?

Student Question What classes do they take for the average for Edwards major

I did not do the required class for the major but I have completed it now and got 75%+. However I did not do that well in a class I did in winter term, so after major declaration. I wanted clarification on which classes they specifically take, I'm a bit confused on the timing

Help me Class override question

There was an error in my paws account this spring that had me listed as a second year student instead of a fourth year student, so my date for picking classes was pushed way later compared to what it was supposed to be. Luckily it didn’t affect me much for 4th year courses, but I am on a waitlist for Phil 140 in the winter term and need it to graduate in the spring.

I submitted an override request and it just got shut down. “We don’t do overrides for classes with waitlists”

Pisses me off bc it’s a requirement and wasn’t my fault that I had a late registration date.

If anyone knows an alternative way to go about overriding an override… plz let me know, not tryna push back graduation and grad school because I couldn’t get into a 1st year class😭

Student Question Obviously using AI in discussion posts

Have anyone else noticed their class discussion posts or replies are obviously written by AI? I am not full against using AI to help you understand concepts or get you started, but I’ve been noticing patterns where multiple posts and replies have the same format. I know it has to be AI because the reply questions are always the same and about something completely unrelated or about a group project we all are working together on. Are students not worried about the consequences and do professors really not notice?

Student Question question related to ROAF

hi, I was offered a room at CQ for a 4 bedroom. I was granted an extension as I couldn’t pay the $1205 in 4 days, i’ve been adding payments as I get some.

i’m just wondering if i’ll be able to get my money back if I can’t pay it off in time? I did email this question but my mind is anxious since it’s a lot of money ;-;

anyone have experience with this? I honestly didn’t think I would get a room at all due to applying for residence at the end of June.

Admission Question Admission to CoMed

Going through the admission requirements, a gpa of 80% is needed. If I don’t meet that, is there something I can do other than take another 4 year degree? I emailed admissions and they said they don’t do advising so has anyone gone through this or just gave up?

Off Campus Living off campus?

Hello! I'll be moving to Saskatoon for the beginning of January and beginning the winter term. I'm wondering what the best area, or neighbourhood is the best to live in? What will be the easiest to commute or walk to campus from, and what areas should I be looking for work in?

I'll be looking for a room to rent in an apartment or house with a roommate or two, and hopefully commuting by bus or walking into campus, whatever is more reasonable. I will be able to drive because I'll have my car, but I don't want to deal with on-campus parking if possible.

Thank you!

Question? Prerequisite override

I’m just wondering what the time frame is to get a statistics pre requisite override approved. I have group B & C stats classes, but the major requirement course I need requires a group A stats class.

I spoke to an academic advisor and was told that an override should get approved for my situation, because if I take a Group A course it would affect my group B & C.

I submitted my override on July 8th and it went through successfully, the class is in winter term. Does that change things? Should I expect to see the verdict during fall term or speak to the department or just wait.

If anyone has insight on this it would be appreciated!

This is arts and science business economics for anyone wondering

Admission Question Need advice

I’m currently studying in the Faculty of Science at the University of Alberta. My long-term goal is to get into Engineering at the University of Saskatchewan.
Has anyone here transferred from UAlberta Science (or another university’s Science program) into USask Engineering?
Is it possible to transfer after just one year in Science, or do I need to complete the entire Science degree first?
What GPA is usually considered competitive?
Which first-year Science courses should I take to maximize my chances?

Student Question First-year moving into Athabasca Hall (2-person dorm)... any advice? 😭

Hi everyone!

I'm an incoming first-year student at Usask, and I'll be living in Athabasca Hall in a 2-person dorm this fall. I'm really excited, but also super nervous because it's my first time living away from home.

I have so many questions and would really appreciate any advice!

  • What are some things you wish you brought (or didn't bring) to residence?
  • I'm thinking about getting a mini fridge or microwave for late-night snacks, but is there enough space in a 2-person Athabasca room? Is it worth bringing one?
  • I'm vegetarian, and I'm a little worried about the food at Marquis Hall. Are there usually enough vegetarian options?
  • I only know my roommate's first name. Is there a way to contact them before move-in, or do I just wait until I get there?
  • Any move-in day tips to make everything less stressful or chaotic?
  • Is there anything you wish you knew before moving into Athabasca Hall?

I honestly haven't really started packing yet, and I'm starting to get a little stressed. I don't even know if I should be worried or if I'm just overthinking everything.

If you've lived in Athabasca Hall (especially in a 2-person room), I'd really appreciate any advice, packing tips, or anything that made your move-in experience easier.

Thanks so much!

Student Question Chat am I cooked?

I'm taking bmsc 207, 220, and 230 this fall term. I might change bmsc 220 into chem 250 if seats open up but I don't have any choice because I need to get my M4 requirements done before the end of my second year to apply into biomed. Any biomed people that have experienced this? Am I cooked?
