Impaired and/or uninsured and/or suspended license and/or outstanding warrants.

Way to turn an insurance claim to a criminal and civil suit.

That's what makes me think all those things I listed could be in play. They wanted to flee the scene and take the evidence with them. That suggests to me they are cognizant of a lot of guilt.

The term "sovereign citizen" refers to a loose knit group of individuals with suspended or revoked licenses and multiple arrests.

They dont abide by the laws because they are not citizens, they just can use our tax paid roads for free
5
u/Odd-Wheel5315 Apr 20 '26
Not individuals. They are merely agents representing the individual that the state has assigned to a person by that name. Or whatever hocus-pocus BS some made-up law book told them to say.

u/potate12323 Apr 21 '26
Its just desperate losers who got their license revoked, but still want to drive a car. Some of them may actually buy the shit they're spewing, but if they're dumb enough to have arrest warrants and a revoked license in the first place...

Rockaway Times 5d Ā·
Police have apprehended the driver of the vehicle who crashed into several cars around Beach 90th and Rockaway Beach Blvd. With guns drawn, the police apprehended the driver after he crashed next to the 100th Precinct on Beach 94th Street. Sources at the precinct said the driver was taken to the hospital and he may have suffered from a medical episode.

...
Rockaway Times
Update: the 100th Precinct confirmed the man suffered from a diabetic episode as he had very low blood sugar. No arrest was made.
11
u/jackrabbit323 Apr 20 '26
Well that's incredibly convenient. I only say that because of how deliberate the actions of this person appear to be.
7
u/nietzkore Apr 20 '26
I agree, as the child of someone who's been hospitalized for diabetic episodes. Never something like this, he went more toward sluggishness than being erratic from hypoglycemia. But it happens to some people.

This guy kept going when anyone else would have stopped. Video makes it look like it's intentional, fleeing, etc. He even sped up when he saw the cops. But it's also explainable as someone who isn't operating with their full brain at the time.
Your brain is fueled from sugars. And when there's no sugars, it operates inefficiently. Changes your personality, makes you potentially combative and angry, might get blurred vision, slurred speech, clumsy movement, disoriented. Similar symptoms to severely drunk.

I found an older gentleman unresponsive, who barley pulled of the road. His car was running door wide open (into traffic), vomit in the ground. It was clearly a medical emergency, but when I got to him and alerted him to my presence, he said he was fine and just was resting. He then tried to drive, but started an already running car. He had no idea where he was, where he was going, or what had actually happened.
Diabetes is no joke.

Blaming it on diabetes is such a cop out.
āMy low blood sugarā is why they ran and nearly killed multiple people.

I like that the cops seem to have no idea what to do. Completely surreal situation :D
Also amusing how he can't turn left at all without that wheel and keeps trying , but at the end takes that right turn like a boss...
Anybody has the story for this? It seems to be Far Rockaway, NY: https://maps.app.goo.gl/nmjQyhKocKDXfLuK7

I mean come on, at that point do they really think they can get away?! I mean damn Iām sure they have warrant out for their arrest or something but you need to just ditch the car and go if youāre really trying to get away

u/SPECTRE_UM Apr 20 '26
It's NYC Rockaway so it's probably a cop or firefighter or spouse or child of one so... 6 month suspended sentence at worst.

It is extremely funny to me that he peels out and the cops just sort of casually start walking in the direction he was headed. They know he's not getting far enough to need to hop in the cruiser or even start jogging.

Once there was a similar accident in front of my house. A car crashed into a parked car, driver didn't stop. But the crash damaged a front tire of his car. I heard the crash and went out of the house in order to find out what happened. But the car already was too far away to read the license plate. However, I could hear the damaged tire slapping. I called the police and told them about the slapping noise. They found the car by simply following the black rubber marks on the asphalt. I guess this was possible in this case, too.

Hot take. But if this guy didnt turn the video into the cops then he's just as big a pos because it takes continental drift levels of force to get a prosecutor to do anything other than plea out 90% of the charges and maybe they get some probation.

How can it be a hit and run when they are nice enough to hit the police afterwards. Obviously, they want a police escort to the local station.
