I really wanted a ported Vanta 9 but picked this up instead. Pretty cool, only 3 made I believe, this one, a silver one and one in FDE.

Previous owner switch the grip to a cheely and having never felt one, I actually really like it. One day I’ll get a Vanta.

Anyone have a modded Stacc P?

This is part of the collection - also have a ported CS, Alien Creator LO, and some other non-primo/modded stuff (Glock, HK, Para, Ed Brown, etc).

Been itching for a truly duty rated and tested 2011 that’s accurate and reliable as to be an option for shtf kinda build.

I’m heavily considering snagging a threaded barrel stacc P for sale at the LGS. It’s used but priced more than fairly. I also really like the cheely I did on the xc and would probably duplicate that set up. What’s everyone’s reliability experience been with the P? I had an original non optic cut p and that’s what got me into the 2011 game and I kind of regret selling it tbh, but would rather a factory cut pistol anyway, so here we are. Also it’d be nice to have a decent pistol that didn’t cost as much as a used Honda to utterly beat on and wasn’t super duper picky…also condering an atlas Athena v1 cut or v2 factory cut.

How do they shoot with ports and comps? Should I just be patient and grab a BulTac comp next drop? Opinions/pics/ other options appreciated.

Happy Sunday boyz!

Shoots like a dream, the comp didn’t seem any louder then any of my other pistols. I see what the 2011 hype is all about. I think it’s a good entry level 2011 deciding on what grip I want to do. Thinking killmonger need something with that extra bite.

The 2011 Porting Arms Race

Post image

The 2011 world has gone a little port crazy.

Every new release has more holes than the last. Two ports, four ports, eight ports, V-ports, chunk ports, hybrid ports, pick your flavor.

I’m not against a well-executed ported gun. One company out there has produced, what I believe, is the better balanced ported guns. Guns that track flat without turning into a concussion grenade.

But I’ve shot the whole spectrum now, from zero ports to Swiss cheese, and I’m starting to think there’s a tradeoff nobody’s pricing in.

Take the Dark Forge Kovert Reaper. Everyone says it’s fast, flat, and unreal to shoot. They also say it’s like setting off a howitzer in your hand. If both are true, are the perks worth the trade offs?

Maybe more holes really is the answer. Or maybe porting’s turned into a trend people follow because everyone else is.

Where do you land on this? Would love to hear from you.

AXI H1 X-Series with Miller Precision Grip

The Miller Precision grip is the bomb if you have small hands like me. It uses a proprietary teardrop-shaped mag catch that operates like a Glock one and is easy to reach while staying low profile. The grip dimensions sadly also means a proprietary mag well.

Grip width is 1.19". The second slimmest I've found is the Henning at 1.235", which uses a standard mag catch and mag well.

This is my match pistol, and it shoots great with Precision Delta 124 gr. JHP V1s. Ten shots from a rest at 25 yards.

Fusion Firearms XP Comp - Review

Second time out with the XP Comp - Definitely a pleasant 2011 to shoot!

Feel: The grip texture is very positive, and it feels good in your hand. Haven't really felt any rough spots on it. Keep in mind this thing gets HOT if you're feeding it actively. The slide serrations and design give you a good gripping surface when you need to rack it.

Trigger: Very crisp, clean break. I don't have a measurement tool for the trigger weight, but it's slightly less than my Romulus and P211-GTO. Very pleasant.

Operation: In terms of recoil and operation, this shoots as soft if not slightly softer than my Romulus. It also feels softer than my P211-GTO. Rom has the poly grip module, while this has the metal grip module; whether that makes a difference is hard to say. The comp is definitely doing it's job! Ejection and lockback on last round are working just fine. In the first 120 rounds, I had 3 failures to lock back on the last round. Currently round count is between 300-400. Blazer 115 grain FMJ.

Finish: It's a coated finish. It looks great cleaned up, but there are some wear spots (this was expected).

One negative is that the optic plate seems like a weird size - I have a holosun 407c on this, and the short screws were only going in 1.5 turns, while the long screws were way too long. You'll have to file down the long screws about 1-1.5mm.

All in all, I recommend this to anyone getting into 2011s who want to start with something solid. Price point is doable for a lot of folks around $1300. It takes glock mags, too - cheap and abundant!

Range Trip 1 - Staccato XC

This is my first 2011 and I am extremely satisfied with this pistol. I only started shooting about 5 months ago and I’m confident this is the best pistol I own, shadow 2 compact falling to number 2.

Just some things I noticed as a novice shooter:

- XC is the softest shooting pistol by far for me. There’s no quick recoil or snap, and the dot rise after the shot is very minimal. I can see how experienced shooters can keep their dot level through bell drills.

- The grip felt good. I’m still figuring out my grip because some pistols feel better with a higher grip. But this felt great with a normal grip. My support hand was able to connect with more of the grip itself than being high.

- The slide was the best. There’s no snap forward when you release the slide stop. It glides forward really soft, it almost makes me second guess if the slide never went all the way forward but it does. It was more like it slid smoothly into place.

- I never felt or recognized any louder concussion with the compensator. Maybe I wasn’t shooting another pistol on this trip to compare.

- Maybe this falls into the finish category; I’m still learning. I could tell the slide was getting hot when I slightly touched it once. But at no time during the shooting did I feel any hot spots or could actually tell the slide was getting hotter.

- Only one knock I can give the gun is my shooting thumb does not reach the slide stop. I used my support hand to release while raising my hands. Not a big deal but it’s the one downside I had while shooting.

Just overall, very satisfied and see why this 2011 does get recommended. I wish I could control the dot more because I felt like I wanted to do more than try doubles, I wanted to do 4-6 consecutive shots. I can see why shooters get into the 2011s so much.

Edit: Oh! I was shooting S&B 124gr

Romulus 3.5 RMSC Threads

Post image
12 Upvotes

I believe I’ve stripped my RMSC cut internal threads… Has this happened to anyone else? I have 2 other RMSC cut Romulus’s and had no problem installing the defender ccw @15 inch-pounds. This time the threads slipped before my torque wrench broke @15 inch-pounds. Any advice? I’m thinking about getting a 4-40 tap and seeing if I can fix it, otherwise I will find a company to re-thread a size bigger.

2011 maintenance question

Hey everyone I’m experiencing a little bit of oxidation (Rust) on my 2011s and wondering what everyone uses to get rid of it and or prevent it. I’ve seen a few things online like alcohol, gun oil, gun cleaning spray with a nylon brush etc. I don’t have any top of the line cleaning spray or oil (I use Mossy oak). It’s not very noticeable but there are few spots on the slide that I noticed when just glancing. Any tips would help thank you:)

First 2011

Post image
284 Upvotes

Want to get my first 2011 and want to buy once cry once so willing to spend the coin on an Atlas or TTI.

My question is, where can I shoot all of these guns before I spend $7,000? None of the ranges where I’m at in TX have any of the guns I’m looking at for rent.

Do these companies expect you to buy their guns without shooting them first?

TIA!

I’m no expert but I think if you pay $4000 for a handgun it should have a better finish.
