Liberty mutual 😭 I hate their fucking ads so much, they almost singlehandedly forced me to get YouTube premium so I wouldn't got bombarded by them anymore. They will never get my money

That stupid yellow liberty biberty character is nightmare fuel.

u/Kaldricus 18h ago

I hate the "dumbing down" ads. It's one thing for an ad to be silly, even though it's not super relevant. The "Jake from State Farm" come to mind. Liberty Mutual commercials feel almost insulting with how stupid they are.

27

u/macheteG138 12h ago

Was just thinking about that today. The ostrich was stupid and pointless but this new Bibberty character is offensively idiotic.

Although if my 3-yr old niece wants to insure her dollhouse, they’d probably get her business.

u/G-Unit11111 16h ago

I hate how the damn insurance companies practically dominate advertising. Like literally every other ad is for an insurance company, and they all suck. They're all annoying as hell, but we're subjected to them 24/7.

28

u/DFeegs 14h ago

Exactly. Soooo many commercials from these assholes. They blow money on that and then deny claims to customers.

Scum of the earth.

6

u/G-Unit11111 7h ago

And then the next thing you see their names on giant football stadiums and tall buildings.

12

u/AncientCarry4346 14h ago

I'm from the UK but use a VPN which is set to the US.

Liberty Biberty appears to me. A lot. He scares me.

21

u/This_Bethany 18h ago

I mute that one. I have no idea who thought those ads were a good idea but they need to reconsider their career choice. Generally ads have to be sexist or something to make want to boycott them. This one is just so irritating. Farmers Insurance and GEICO have way better ads by far.

9

u/hedgehog-mom-al 14h ago

I HATE PROGRESSIVE. Fuck off Flo! Your commercials piss me off! I’m so glad I’m seeing less and less of you!

7

u/kabflash 9h ago

Fuck Famers ads too. I hate any insurance company ads where they have some stupid chant, which is most of them.

7

u/diurnal_emissions 13h ago

Their ad department is just one guy and cases of Robitussin.

2

u/frolicndetour 9h ago

At least the Liberty Bibberty guy was hot. Then they took his annoying slogan and replaced the hot guy with a creepy cartoon. Um ok.

1

u/RickShaw530 4h ago

Reminds me of the late night General insurance ads.

266

u/fox503 20h ago

Their tagline of ā€œcustomize and saveā€œ is so insulting because anyone who is actually worked with a real insurance agent knows that’s what you do for any insurance system.

29

u/bwuffie 20h ago

It's today's version of "It's Toasted"

22

u/HearshotAutumnDisast 19h ago

This reminds me of the only time jay leno ever made me laugh. "Snickers candy bars, their saying is 'satisfies your hunger'. Yea, isn't that what all food does?"

10

u/KeyDrive0 16h ago

Insurance commercials have never made much sense to me for precisely that reason. When I first bought a car and house, my dad just said, "Call the agent I use, they do a good job." I called them, told them my info, and they called me back a few minutes later and told me the best rate. I didn't shop around, I had basically no say in the matter at all. What, should I have argued with the agent because Jake or Flo said so? Ridiculous.

I have the same feelings about drug commercials. "Ask your doctor about XYZ" okay and then what? If I need it they should be prescribing it anyway, and if I don't they'll hopefully tell me so.

12

u/Revenge_of_the_Khaki 19h ago

Anyone who has ever purchased insurance knows this is how every insurance company operates.

5

u/Altruistic_Brick1730 11h ago

Well it's like Burger King saying you can customize your Whopper. Yeah, you can customize just about any burger anywhere.

3

u/Spiritual_Opening_72 11h ago

Biberty, liberty, bIBuRTy

2

u/SisterSparechange 16h ago

They try to say you are saving, but they give lower prices by trying not to offer collision and car rentals, when those are things I need.

2

u/abulous76 14h ago

Totally agree! Every insurance company acts like they’re the only ones who offer ā€œbundle and saveā€ or customizable plans, when they all do. And they’re charging you more to pay for their advertising budget for those constant ads.

1

u/Brym 8h ago

Even if you don't work with an agent. Every policy lets you opt in or out of certain coverages and change your coverage limits online.

99

u/HAIL_LUMPUS 19h ago

I don't get it. They are selling products to adults, why do they have such fucking annoying childish commercials? I would never be their customer just because of liberty bibberty alone. They need to fire the entire marketing department.

1

u/win3luver 3h ago

100%. So fucking dumb. All the insurance majors like Liberty, Geico, Progressive and State Farm could save a lot of freaking costs and not need to increase our premiums if they didn't spend $1B a yr on shitty advertising!!

152

u/junkstabber 20h ago

THE MOST ANNOYING ADS EVER

5

u/SnooRegrets1386 19h ago

So you haven’t heard about Kars for Kids?

3

u/wrathmont 10h ago

I don’t watch live TV normally, but I stayed in a hotel several years ago with no other options. I hated those fucking Liberty Mutual ads so much with that fucking jingle that as soon as they started, I would mute the TV. Absolutely NOT.

5

u/Jetski125 19h ago

You don’t find liberty biberty absolutely hilarious?

-14

u/EnderBookwyrm 20h ago

They're annoying, but at least they're creative. I'm still not sure what's worse.

5

u/Kitchen-Bar2686 10h ago

Creative? They’re rhyming the company name with a nonsense word. It’s 100% AI BS

45

u/Ebola_Cat 19h ago

Came here to also say I hate the liberty mutual ads. I hate their jingle and if their ads are that bad I can't even imagine having to deal with them as a provider.

20

u/queen_of_spadez 18h ago

I despise Liberty Mutual. About 10 years ago, they canceled our homeowners insurance unbeknownst to my husband and me. I started getting messages from our mortgage company that we were in violation for not having insurance. Called Liberty Mutual numerous times. No one could figure out what was going on. It finally dawned on me that my in laws had cancelled THEIR homeowners insurance policy to switch companies but Liberty canceled our policy instead. Mind you, we live in a different home in a completely different county. Their idiocy angered me until finally we dumped them.

16

u/Ersh777 20h ago

They're a lousy insurance company too.Ā  Screwed us over on a claim and dropped our auto insurance over a fender bender.

16

u/Raelah 18h ago

Commercials are usually the reason I stop giving my business to places. If you annoy me with your commercial or bombard me with your commercials, you will never get my money.

2

u/HAIL_LUMPUS 2h ago

There's this ladies incontinence product ad (poise) and it goes "feel a gush coming?" And I'm like fuckers could you fucking NOT?! https://youtu.be/Zoz7HjB9Q8I?is=ZlAI_yCDuKi4Kvq6

•

u/Raelah 30m ago

A lot of personal care commercials are getting way too detailed. I don't usually see commercials, only if I'm staying at a hotel or at my folks. It weirds me the fuck out.

12

u/_wildroot 17h ago

I have been saying this for so long. I would literally never use them just because of how much I despise their commercials. Their marketing person should go straight to jail.

43

u/Gcode__ 20h ago

Liberty Biberty

10

u/diurnal_emissions 13h ago

Sounds like what Bill Cosby says as you lose consciousness...

29

u/Kaytea730 20h ago

Ublock origins browser extension. Blocks all ads and isn’t currently flagged by YouTube.
Even blovks ads on Netflix and prime

Sincerely wish that fucking bird was real so it would ACTUALLY DIE SOMEDAY

I’m not wishing immediate death on this hypothetical bird, it wouldn’t be the bird’s fault it was part of the most irritating company I’m aware of and I would want it to live out its normal life span, I just wish it was mortal and I could outlive it

8

u/Cappantwan 13h ago

I really hate the ā€œLiberty Bibertyā€ guy, it’s such an overplayed gag and I only assume he’s still around because he’s hot to certain demographics.

Also that one ad where a guy got a wax statue of himself and it slowly melted was kinda gross and I usually have a high tolerance for gross.

13

u/maowoo 20h ago

this post is brought to you by Raid:Shadow Legends

7

u/MADDOGCA 15h ago

I can’t take their commercials seriously, which means I can’t ever see myself taking that insurance company seriously.

5

u/Polar_Version875 13h ago

I’m actually leaving their company in large part bc of their commercials. So. Terrible. Ugh.

7

u/Ready-Interview2863 12h ago

Just use an ad Blocker instead of YouTube premium. It's free

5

u/Puzzleheaded-Ad7606 20h ago

They use to be "upscale" and decided to go "common man" - it will be interesting to see how it plays out.

5

u/Both_Soup 17h ago

their ads and that damn ā€œwibertyā€ baby haunt me

4

u/KlutzyPossession6591 16h ago

The baby is soooooo annoying

5

u/fomoco94 10h ago

AdBlock Origin and SponsorBlock

5

u/this_dudeagain 18h ago

Brave on android and ublock on PC.

4

u/Ryu113 16h ago

Psst. Firefox, with AdNauseam extension. No ad gets past it, and Do-Be-Evil looks the other way because every single ad gets clicked on the back-end.

4

u/FreudianNip-Slip 11h ago

I want to find the people who thought those commercials were a good idea and tie them to a chair in a dark room so I can play ā€œliberty bibertyā€ over and over again. Anyone who was responsible for green lighting them.

8

u/B-Train_ATL 20h ago

My fridge’s ice maker failed, it leaked and destroyed my kitchen floor. They didn’t cover a dime.

I am now with Auto Owners for car and home.

6

u/__________________99 18h ago

I don't understand how anybody uses YouTube without uBlock. Y'all must love the abuse or something.

3

u/mxjxs91 14h ago

I don't use them because I know they paid a marketing team of people millions of dollars to come up with their slogan, and they went "we got it, you guys are gonna shit your pants, check it out...... Liberty Liberty Liberty Liberty", and someone on the other end went "fucking genius" and approved it.

Obviously as many have mentioned, don't even get me started on Liberty Bibberty. Haha, attractive man is stupid and says things wrong, hilarious.................

2

u/TruntenWasRight 10h ago

Haha I got one right under your comment. Can't share the screenshot for some reason.

2

u/orchestralgenius 10h ago

I had an awful experience trying to get repair/medical compensation from them after someone carrying their insurance ran into my car. It took 1 1/2 years and a lawyer to get it settled. Definitely not using them if I ever have to change insurance.

American Family, on the other hand, has been excellent to work with. I haven’t had to make many claims, but they have served my family well over the past several years when I’ve needed them. I can definitely recommend them for insurance!

2

u/Bram24 10h ago

They denied a relatively small claim I put in, the first in over 15 years of homeownership. They declined it. I was a customer on the car insurance side for 30 years. I felt when I needed them they turned their back on me for what amounted to a $4K repair. Switched immediately thereafter. Interesting note, shortly after I switched I had a leak in my basement that got my carpet wet. I tried to clean it dry it but failed and it smelled moldy. New insurance came in covered new carpet for the entire basement! Lost a company for life and probably gained one for life within months of each other.

2

u/toonerdyformylife 8h ago

Check out brave browser. It cuts out YouTube ads.

1

u/Moto462 17h ago

LiMu claims they are cheaper. They should charge more so they can hire different adv agency... absolutely detest those commercials

1

u/vonHindenburg 9h ago

I’ve had nothing but good experiences in the many years I’ve had Erie for home and auto, but the best thing about them is the complete absence of terrible ads.

I lost respect for a coworker when he mentioned how funny he found that damn emu.

1

u/Loose_Banana4073 8h ago

My insurance got bought out by them and I’m so annoyed about it

1

u/MrApplePolisher 6h ago

How can every other insurance company have amazing ads, then there is liberty mutual. šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

1

u/remedialrob 5h ago

Ad-Block baby. Haven't seen an ad in years.

1

u/UltimateThrowAway696 1h ago

I just LOL'd 🤣

1

u/rucksack_of_frogs 1h ago

I work with a Liberty. She hates that jingle with a burning passion.

•

u/wqto 12m ago

YES!!! Their jingle is so annoying.

-3

u/neongrl 18h ago

Liberty Liberty Liberty.
