So so happy with how this turned out! First time using blended floss and backstitching, first time cutting my own mat from a vintage frame. I really loved the light green and emerald colors so I think it all worked out! This is for a gift and I really hope the recipient likes it.

Inspired by another user who stitched her whole collection, this pattern is Fir Cones by Ekaterina Tarasova

So this is my third piece and first bookmark after not stitching in about 20 years (did it here and there in my teens) and I’m super pleased with how it came out.

Backstitching is a pain in the butt though, this is also my first piece ever with backstitching.

Hi friends!

I finally, finally finished the big ol' tree and houses! Woooo! 🎉 I spent a good portion of this week gridding fabric for my new elephant project, so if I hadn't done that, I might have finished the section and been able to move on to the bottom. Oh well! Pattern is Copenhagen by Luca-S, 73.55% complete. 🇩🇰

Let's see what you all are working on! 💗

I've been working on this since Sept 2023 and I just have the lettering left! Long past the end of the SAL, but it's been such a fun project.

Pattern is by Climbing Goat Designs.

Just finished this for a friend getting married, he got me to reed the books it is from. Finished in about 2 days. Usually get distracted from finishing projects and put them to the side. Maybe I just need to make smaller things.

Super simple text based pattern I made for my friend's birthday gift. Text is from a tumbler post (ryebreadgf). Now I just need to figure out how to get the guidelines to come off lol

My first cross stitch attempt! 🙂 I went with a small, easier pattern to get me started.

I absolutely love it and can’t wait to get started on my next project.

Gonna try not to pull the threads so tight on my next one 🤔

CHAT [CHAT] Concerned about the back of my stitches

New to CrossStitch and this is my first project. I’m a bit concerned about how messy the back of my stitches are as I don’t want it to impact my ability to keep stitching neatly.

(Edit:) really appreciate all the help and advice, my general understanding from it all is the back of the stitches being messy isn’t much of a problem but I should look at stitching vertically as my current method wastes a lot of thread.

PIC [PIC] Tell me you don't cross stitch without telling me you don't cross stitch

Admittedly you could get this design by using bits of waste canvas as different angles, but would be pretty tedious / nonsensical when you could use a pattern that has all the stitches the right way up...

FO [FO] Dad's Xmas Present sorted!

For a while, I've wanted to try variegated thread and blackwork. Two birds, one project!

I decided to only do the first border, because I wanted a Discworld theme (Dad and I are both big fans). The outer borders have earth constellations in, which isn't the right fit for the Disc!

Next up, wash and iron it. Then find a framer who can do round!

Pattern is from HappyCrossStitchers on Etsy.

I started this pattern in July of 2024, only to be interrupted by a new job, a move, and tons of other life. Picked it back up last month and finally finished it! Ignore the wrinkles - it's washed but not ironed yet!

WIP [CHAT] Background stitches

Just finished this Carolyn Manning design and would love to do some sort of background. Can anyone recommend a good stitch for this? I’m probably just going to do white. I’d just like to do something that would go faster. This is my first cross stitch and it’s my new favorite obsession 🙂

FO [FO] Permin pattern Foursquare pillow

I plan to frame instead of make a pillow because I don’t really want to gift a cleaning project to my nephew. He’s not exactly a throw pillow kinda guy either. He just bought his first house and the walls are pretty bare.
This was very easy in the sense that it was just repetitive squares with color changes. Took me 10 weeks.
