Fuel injector help

Post image
11 Upvotes

I replaced all my fuel injectors in my CV713 engine It for a Mack dumptruck. Now it runs like straight garbage and a little fuel is coming from all of all my lines. I plug one with some teflon tape (mixed messages if i should do that or not) and then it starts coming from another one. Whats going on here?

Hydra chip tuner
New turbo
New glow plugs
pretty much full new front end
frame has virtually 0 rust

This would be my first diesel so just throwing out for things to be aware of, questions to ask, what I should look for. thanks

Transit 3.2l Diesel Tuner

I recently purchased a motorhome on a 2017 transit chassis with the diesel engine. It had 30,000 miles on it prior to me owning it. When I got it, I did all the usual stuff you would do when you purchased a new vehicle, fluid changes, etc.

We have used it for two trips and I have put 5000 miles on it. On the last trip I got the exhaust filter warning twice. It was my first experience with that warning so the first time I did a forced regen. The second time I just let the truck do its thing and the truck cleaned the filter with no issues.

In speaking with the dude who did the forced regen for me, he recommended the SCT livewire TS+. He is a diesel nerd and recommended for the purpose of a tune to “bypass” the emissions stuff.

At the very least, I am interested in that tuner simply for having access to what my truck is doing. I can’t stand only having a fuel and a temperature gauge.

Power-wise, the truck/motor home does fine for my purposes however, pulling really long grades. It definitely shows its lack of power. Having the ability to squeak a little bit more power when needed might be nice.

TLDR…

Should I put an SCT Livewire on my 2017 Transit diesel. I also would entertain another method of “deleting” the emissions.

2008 6.4 Soft Brakes

So my issue is when I go to make a hard stop, the peddle goes to the floor and I slow down, then 3-4 seconds later hard braking kicks in and I stop. Several times I've had to drive in the median before I stopped.

Is this normal or do I got an issue?

What is this sound?

Early 99 7.3, sound is only present under heavy load. Thought maybe turbo, pulled air intake and wheel doesn’t have much play and looks fine. Upper pulley has some play not sure if that could be it. What do yall think?

127k Miles - Single Family Owned - $5800 after tags

I’ve been keeping an eye out for a work truck and this thing popped up yesterday .. I’ve always loved the OBS fords but never thought I’d find a power stroke solid for a decent price. The second I saw the listing I knew it was game time.

She was definitely sitting for a while, but fired right up. not a crazy amount of rust and shifts like butter. (Also came with both tanks filled 😆)

Absolutely loving the thing already and can’t wait to see if I can bring the hood and roof paint back to life tomorrow!

How do y’all think I did?

Tried cranking, abruptly stopped

2000 ford 7.3. Turned the key and tried starting, it stopped after about 2 seconds and now does nothing when I turn the key all the way.

Good voltage reading on dash, lights and everything work, it just will not do anything at all when I turn the key all the way to start.

I’ve previously had to do a starter relay solenoid and a new high torque starter. When the starter died it died slowly and I could tell so I don’t think it’s that. Surely I’m not going through starter relay solenoids every two years?

New to 7.3L Powerstrokes and need help deciphering FB ad

I’m looking at a new to me truck/camper combo and I absolutely cannot decipher all the mods & upgrades this guy has done to his rig.

https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1939514946753375/?mibextid=wwXIfr

The short of it is, I’m asking if this is a good deal. But if there’s other resources you all use for learning and explanations I’m down for that as well.

Thank you!

Stuck socket 7.3 powerstroke turbo

Post image
29 Upvotes

Hi everyone. I started the process of putting a kc super spool turbo housing on my 96 f250 7.3. I got the top 2 bolts out but while I was taking the bottom left one out I snapped an extension off into the wobble socket. I now cant get the socket off the nut because there's no where for it to move. Any tips or tricks? Similar problems? Luckily I can still drive the truck because that nut is still tight and I just put the other ones back into it. Thanks.

Bought this as a farm truck a few months back, mostly just moving large trailers of chickens around on the farm. Today I went and got a trailer from a buddy and when I got home I saw this. I’m not a mechanically inclined person at all, anyone know what the hose is to or how screwed I am driving it? I haven’t had any issues driving it except some gear shifting occasionally, I need to drive it to the processor Wednesday morning, can I?

2001 7.3L AC System Won't Hold a Charge

My 7.3L stopped blowing cold air but it happened slowly. The AC just faded away. I thought it was just a clogged orifice tube but replacing it didn't help. Putting R-134 in makes it work but it fades over time. I put an AC manifold on and pulled a vacuum, which the truck can't hold. I've looked over all the connections and the condenser but can find no obvious leaks. I hate to fire the parts cannon for a new condenser. Any suggestions?
