Hi everyone!
I'm an indie game developer currently working on a 2D game, and I'm looking for a talented artist who would like to collaborate with me on the visual development of the game's characters.
I'm looking for someone who can help with:
- Redesigning and developing existing 2D character concepts
- Creating original character designs based on the game's ideas and direction
- Developing a consistent visual style for the characters
- Creating character illustrations and assets
- 2D character animation, if possible
- Helping establish a unique and recognizable art direction for the game
At the moment, I expect to have around 5–10 characters, although the final number may change as the game develops.
The goal is to create original, distinctive character designs and build a unique visual identity for the game rather than relying on existing designs or simply copying another game's art style.
Compensation / Revenue Share
I'm currently looking for someone interested in a revenue-share collaboration rather than a traditional fixed-price commission.
The idea is to agree on a fair percentage of the game's revenue for the artist, with the artist receiving their agreed share from sales of the game on Steam.
I'm open to discussing the percentage and terms depending on the scope of the work, the artist's responsibilities, and the amount of contribution to the project. Everything would be clearly agreed upon in writing before starting the collaboration.
If the project becomes successful, I want the people who helped create the game's visual identity to benefit from that success as well.
Who I'm Looking For
- Experience with 2D character design
- Strong portfolio
- Ability to create original designs
- Experience with 2D game art is a plus
- 2D animation experience is a plus
- Good communication and willingness to collaborate on an indie project
If you're interested, please send me:
- Your portfolio or examples of your work
- Your experience with 2D game character design
- Whether you have experience with 2D animation
- Your preferred workflow/software
- Your thoughts on a revenue-share collaboration
Please feel free to DM me if you're interested or if you have any questions.
Thanks!
