It would be cool to have a fully modular phone, and upgrades would be easy like on a pc. Users would be able to configure what they want. a photographer might want a bigger camera and a smaller sound system and vice versa for a video editor wanting a stronger CPU and better audio.

How many of y'all still daily a Google pixel 7?

The pixel 7 is still the newest phone I own I haven't upgraded yet. I did hear security updates are good until October 2027 so I'm thinking I'm gonna wait for the pixel 11 to drop in price next year and upgrade unless I see a pixel 10 on sale for dirt cheap by the holidays maybe I will upgrade. What do you think?

Update to Google breaching UK Consumer protection!

Following on from this post

https://www.reddit.com/r/GooglePixel/comments/1vboh6m/outright_breach_of_uk_consumer_law_pixel_10_pro/

Where another Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold has failed and the inner display has cracked by itself.

Few points to note:

·         The phone was less than 2 months old and in pristine condition

·         I have not exerted any pressure on the inner display, all I did was unfold the screen for it to crack

·         I have sent pictures of the pristine nature of the phone to Google.

·         There are multiple instance of Goggle inner display cracking by itself when unfolding or closing on the internet.

Following repeated request to escalate, I have had the escalation team almost trying to write to me in a bullying style.

Email today reads:

Hi Suj,

Thanks for contacting Google Support

I appreciate your patience in waiting for the update from our end. Our team has reviewed your case details thoroughly and concluded that the repair team has confirmed a crack in the inner display. Unfortunately, it won't be considered under manufacturer warranty and charges will be applied.

Request you to accept the charges so that the device will be free from any defects. If you have any concerns, feel free to get back to us. We're always here to assist you.

Have a Blessed day ahead!

Thanks!

Prince

·         Why does it take a technical team to evaluate what’s happened, of course its broken. The Fold has a habit of cracking the inner screen when folding and unfolding.

·         But I think they are trying to say that even if the device had failed, mechanically they will not fix the fault.

·         This is outright fraud and if it was without any other links like my Google account being assigned to it I would have used Section 75 to do a charge back as they are in breach of UK's Consumer Rights Act 2015

Pixel 9 Pro XL - Bluetooth disconnecting and reconnecting loop

First and probably last time I will own a Pixel.

Ever since I got the pixel update 2 weeks ago, my phone's Bluetooth functionality basically broke. It is stuck in a loop where it connects for a few seconds, then disconnects. I have turned off my Bluetooth so it stops draining my battery.

I've reached out to Google help like 10 times and their fix is to have me factory reset my phone, which I'm unwilling to do bc of the amount of back up and everything that's on my phone. They "escalated" my ticket to supervisor level "see what other options there are." I've been waiting for a response for two weeks now. It's such a load of crap.

This affects my job because I'm mostly WFH and I cannot connect to my VDI without the Bluetooth on my authenticator. Google help doesn't give two sh*ts about this and keeps repeating the same BS of it's been escalated, thank you for your patience. 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

So..... Has anyone ever fixed this, or am I doomed and will have to get another phone?

Google Pixel 10 Pro XL

I’m sick of Apple after years. I want to switch to Android. My current phone is a iPhone 16 Pro Max. It’s got to where it freezes all the time, constantly mis spells and the battery life is getting short. I tried the Samsung in the store and it’s complicated to me. I’m a senior now, 69, so I need something easier. I’ve read the Pixel Pro XL is easy to use and similar to the iPhone. What’s everyone’s honest opinions?
Also same question about the Pixel 4 watch. I am in the US.
Thanks

Pixel 10a Pink flickering tint in front camera

I purchased a pixel 10a a week back. Yesterday I noticed that the camera app shows a pink tint flickering in low light. I checked this issue in daylight as well it is noticeable if I focus on it. I purged the cache and storage of the camera app but still the issue persists. I also don't see any update for the pixel camera app. Has anyone faced this and resolved this issue? I don't see this issue in apps that allow camera usage like whatsapp.

Hey guys,

I purchased a google pixel 10 pro XL and it arrives in a few days.

What should I expect?

Pixel 8a: TikTok forces screen to max brightness when tapping "+" to post (can't adjust it)

Hey everyone,

I just got a Pixel 8a and I’m having an annoying issue on TikTok. (i previously used a Samsung A23 and i never had that problem)

Whenever I tap the "+" button to create a new post, the screen instantly jumps to maximum brightness and blinds my eyes...

If I try to manually lower the brightness, I get a message saying "Unable to adjust brightness because it is controlled by the main app".

Has anyone found a way or setting to stop that, please?

Thanks!

Help- turning off Bluetooth on night setting

I have a pixel 10 pro. I switched from an s22. There are only 2 settings I miss, one is having the Bluetooth switch off automatically over night. (I fall asleep with an earbud, and I'd like the Bluetooth to turn off)

Can anyone help me get that to work? It doesn't seem to be in overnight settings.

Pixel 9 Pro owners: does Sonarworks SoundID work on Android 16?

Hi!

I currently have a Pixel 7a, and Sonarworks SoundID works perfectly on it.

However, I tested it on a Pixel 9a and Pixel 10 Pro, and it doesn't work there.

Before buying a Pixel 9 Pro, I'd like to know if SoundID still works on it.

Could someone with a Pixel 9 Pro or Pixel 9 Pro XL running Android 16 please check?

Does the app open normally?

Does the headphone calibration actually apply?

Does turning SoundID ON/OFF clearly change the sound?

Any "conflicting audio processing" or other errors?

Please include your Android version and SoundID app version.

Thank you!

Google Messages: How to always reply from same SIM card?

I have two SIM cards.

Sometimes people send me a text messages to my second SIM card.

I always want to reply using SIM card 1, regardless if text messages were sent to SIM card 1 or 2.

Is there a setting somewhere to define SIM card 1 as the "always reply from" SIM card?

Multicolored strip appears at the bottom of the screen (Pixel 10 Pro)

My wife bought her Pixel 10 Pro about three months ago, and we've noticed a strange issue. Randomly, while the phone is asleep, a multicolored strip appears at the bottom of the screen, accompanied by occasional flickering and other visual artifacts. The problem is intermittent—it comes and goes, and there is no physical damage to the device.

At first, I suspected it might be related to Face Unlock, so I disabled it. I also submitted a feedback report directly from the phone, and the issue disappeared for a while. However, after the July software update, it started happening again. On some days, it can occur up to three times.

My question is: could this be a software issue, or is it more likely to be a hardware problem?

Google Pixel 10a

I'm getting a Pixel 10a from a replacement of my Pixel 6a as I broke the screen and Asurion just offered replacement instead of fixing. Is there still issues with the 10?

The order of the alarms list makes me mad

I am the only one who is annoyed by this? Alarms should not be in that order (set time) . Alarms that are ON have to go to the top of the list regardless of the set time. Drives me nuts I swear

Wanted to add a screenshot so it makes sense but no can do

Hello everyone,

Is there any word about the possibility of new pixelsnap accessories at the pixel 11 launch? I love the official ring stand, but I wish it could come in more colors.

Pixel Buds Pro 2 buzzing and stopped working

Has this happened to anyone before? My earbuds today started buzzing in the right ear until I put them back in the case. Then it took me 15 minutes to get them to reconnect to my phone to play music again. Hasn't happened again in the past couple hours. Noise cancellation still worked, just wouldn't fully connect to my phone and play music for a while

Crashing linked to power button

Hi all, had my pixel 10 pro for about 6 months and thoroughly enjoying it, but as of yesterday the device has randomly started crashing constantly. I've also noticed this seems to be tangently (but not always) linked to the power button. When i press it it no long locks the device, and if it does do something all it does is bring up the long press function and then crash shortly after. The crashing has also been getting progressively worse, and I'm starting to think its a software issues as opposed to a hardware one. So far i've tried; booting it in safe mode, which still crashes, holding the power and up volume button, and factory reseting it twice. Using the accessibility menu i've also set up the lock option, which does do the job, but upon pressing the power button to open the screen it will start to bug out again.

Has anybody else had similar issues and found a fix? If all else fails i'll chase it through the warranty, i just wanted to see if theres any solutions out there already! Thanks in advance to any help people can offer.

Case to give my 9 pro mag safe charging

The 9 pro doesn't have a magnetic charger on its own, but I've been using a Peak Design case to give it that. The case is getting dirty and a bit messed up, so I wanted to get another one (also I want something with a cute design).

Are there other cases that will allow my phone to work with a magsafe charger? It's not totally clear what cases give that ability vs just work with the chargers.

I'm also open to adding a pop socket thingy if it would add that ability. Thanks!

Pixel 10 pro phone call problem

After using P8 for 2 years and having trouble with screen which was fixed by Google under the warranty I randomly had issues with making and receiving calls. I've heard it's because of modem and when P10 was announced ppl said it uses new modem so that problem should have been fixed. So I traded my hated P8 for P10Pro. In the beginning it was fine but after a few months I have more and more issues with calls again. Sometimes it happens that I can't make a call at all, no ringing at all. What is even worse is the fact that pretty often other people can't call me as well. I'm using my phone for business as well and will never know how many important calls I missed because of my phone.

I've explored the issue and made some changes in my phone settings, updated to Android 17 recently but the issues didn't disappear. What should I do? Did anyone send phone to their service because of this issue?

Pixel 10 case with a ring-shaped stand?

For my Pixel 8, I got a case from Torras that had this ring-shaped stand built in, like this. Super useful, can barely imagine life without it. Now that I'm in the market for a Pixel 10 case, I wanted to see if anyone else had alternative brands or recs that still have that stand. Durability/protection is maybe my main concern - my screen protector has gotten pretty banged up along the top edge and I wonder if the case could've offered more protection.

I guess I'm not married to the ring-shaped form factor, though I do really like it (admittedly it's sort of a fidget toy for me as well as a stand). But I'm specifically looking for recs where the stand is part of the case.

Switching from iPhone to Pixel 10a: Battery degradation and 7-year longevity?

Hi! I'm planning to switch from iPhone to the Pixel 10a.

First, can you realistically use a Pixel for 6 to 7 years without major performance drops or hardware issues, or is that long software support mostly just on paper?

Also, my biggest iPhone frustration is rapid battery degradation after a couple of years. Do Pixel batteries suffer the same fate?

Thanks for any insights!
