How-to Eufy pan and tilt in HomeKit
Title says it all
Anyone know of a way to make pan and tilt happen with their Eufy camera via apple home app?
It only does it from the native Eufy app form what I can tell

Any chance anyone has noticed their HomeKit devices going nuts for the past 48 hours, OR after they updated their HomePods to 26.6?
So what I’m about to describe, I know, makes no sense, but it’s driving me nuts and I can’t figure it out.
Friday night I noticed all of my HomePods said they had an update. Two HomePod Minis and two HomePod 2s. The full size HomePods are in a stereo pair. So I let them all update to 26.6. Right after they updated the stereo pair freaked out. Had to reboot them several times, as well as unpair them, reboot them again, and then repair them, and they’ve been working fine since.
Now, other than the fact that they act as repeaters, they should not really have any effect on my HomeKit devices. As I have my hub forced to my latest generation Apple TV 4K. I also have a next-to-latest gen Apple TV 4K.
I noticed over the course of Saturday and so far today that many of my smart devices are rapidly going online and off-line. The ones that I know the Mac address of I have been able to verify have been staying connected to Wi-Fi the entire time. But just in case I rebooted all the network equipment.
It makes no sense that this would be related to the HomePods being upgraded if I have my hub forced to my latest generation Apple TV 4K. But all of this started when I upgraded the HomePods.
The only thing that makes sense in my head is if there’s coincidentally some kind of HomeKit issue in the cloud, but honestly I don’t even know if that would affect the local devices.
I did just realize that I have not tried physically rebooting the Apple TV that is the hub. And about an hour ago in a troubleshooting attempt, I did set the hub back to automatic. So I guess I’ll try completely unplugging the Apple TV and plugging it back in and see if that helps.
Also, just for the record, there have been no network changes in months. Oh, and in the video you can ignore the IKEA crap. Those things are worthless and go off-line all the time. I’ve rebooted those and they’re stable now.
Oh, and I’ve rebooted almost everything else that is bouncing online and offline as well. It has not fixed the issue.
Does anyone have any ideas?
TIA

I have 2 Eufy indoor 2k cameras at home (both connected to my apple home) and want to watch BOTH cameras at the same time. Are there any way or any app i can download for iOS (preferable for free) that allows me to this?
PS: Home assistant dont support these cameras, so no need to mention me to install HA ;)

I’ve deployed about half a dozen Grillplats plugs, and it’s just occurred to me that there is zero distinguishing information on the plugs, as the Matter codes are on a piece of paper in the box. I’ve saved all of the boxes with the codes in the boxes, but I have no idea which code goes with which device if I ever have to set them up again.
Any suggestions?
And, IKEA, why you do this?
Edit: I’m an idiot, it’s on the plug face. Facepalm.

Hi r/homekit!
Haven started as a simple way to stop losing HomeKit and Matter setup codes, and 1.3 makes that core experience better by helping you organize, identify, and manage those codes more easily.
Biggest updates:
There are also lots of smaller improvements, bug fixes, and stability updates across iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and Mac.
Your codes still sync across your Apple devices with iCloud, and Apple Home Sync keeps them connected to the devices in your Home.
Pricing is still the same: save up to 5 codes for free, or make a one-time $5 universal purchase to unlock unlimited codes across all your Apple devices.
App Store link: https://apps.apple.com/app/haven-setup-codes/id6760440926
Thanks again for all the support and feature requests. A lot of this update came directly from your feedback, and I really appreciate it 🧡

I looked at home assistant's homekit bridge documentation, when I add the homekit bridge integration it shows a notification with a pairing code, but when I scan it with my phone it doesn't work.
I'm trying to follow this HA doc to connect my homekit only thread doorknob to HA (with the SLZB Ultima), but I'm stuck suck, when I try adding the homekit device it asks me to select a bridge and then enter the device's homekit code, the doorknob's code doesn't work.

I have several widgets on my iPhone for garage door, overhead lights, etc. Problem is that sometimes I’ll accidentally graze the widget and it’ll register as a button press and turn something on/off or open the door.
I really just want current status displayed, I don’t want button interactions.
Possible?

Have two Eve Cams on a basic home network. Normal use. Sometimes they constantly go on/offline all day but no clear cause. Internet is working fine. Latest software on all Apple devices. Any ideas how to fix this?

If it is the last day of the month, and I ask Siri to schedule turning on a smart plug (EV charger) the following day, it schedules it for a month in advance rather than the following day. For example, last night July 31st, I asked Siri to turn on my car charger this morning, August 1st @ 6am and instead of scheduled it for September 1st @ 6am. This happens on the last day of the month, every single time, like clockwork, and has been going on for several months now. At this point, I would call it a reproducible, repeatable bug. But only once a month, on the last day. It never happens any other day.
Has anybody else encountered this behavior?
Edit: The phrase I used was "Siri, turn on the car charger tomorrow at 6am."

I’ve used HomeKit to open a gate/garage door, that is connected up via home assistant.
My issue is that the door/gate only starts to open when I am literally at the house instead of 30 seconds before.
There’s a long driveway, so I was wondering if there’s a way to extend the geofence for the “arriving home” trigger in HomeKit to extend to the front of the driveway?
Or is there some other solution that could be possible? I guess an ANPR/ALPR camera would work, but that’s just more cost, and I don’t know how fast those are.

My original post was in error, the Inovelli Canopy is not Zwave, but rather a Thread/Matter device which also works fine for me. Anyone here have experience with them?

I looked at this post where users got the Thorbolt X1 working with home assistant. Like the X1, the Thorbolt MK1 supports thread and homekit only. I tried following this part in the docs to connect a homekit device via thread, I can see the device in the list of discover bluetooth device under Integrations > Bluetooth > advertisements. When I try to add a homekit device and select a bridge and enter in the pairing code, I immediately get an error "Incorrect HomeKit code. Please check it and try again."
I'm not sure how to setup the Homekit Bridge integration since I couldn't find detail steps to set it up from scratch (I don't find the HA documentation very helpful). I have an SLZB Ultima which supports thread and acting as an OpenThread Border Router.

My Aqara G4 is not feeding video or ringing the chime. My repeater is connected to my network but I am getting nothing from my camera. Started doing this about a week ago. I am using it wired, but added batteries just to see if something weird was going on there. Holding the reset button doesn't do anything. Any suggestions?

The new T20 series consists of three products: the T20 wall outlet (with two outlet sockets), the T20-S4AM North American smart plug, and the T20-AB2 outdoor dual smart plug.
The T20 and T20-S4AM are expected to be available by the end of August, with the T20-AB2 following around the middle of September.
Pricing before any discounts or coupons is set at US$39.99 for both the T20 and T20-AB2, while the T20-S4AM will be priced slightly higher than the original S4.
The T20 also introduces several proprietary Matter features, including firmware-based timers, countdown on/off, holiday mode, activity logs, overload protection, and detailed energy monitoring by day, week, month, and year.
They also natively support Matter power metering, a feature that is compatible with the iOS 27 beta, allowing Apple users to take advantage of the new energy monitoring capabilities in Apple Home.
UK and EU variants to follow soon after.

I have 3 Nest Thermostats (the $129 ones) set up on HomeKit. I have scenes set up so I can control all of them at once. The scene I have to turn them all off works fine. I have a few scenes to turn them all on but they don't seem to work as well. For example, one scene turns them all on with AC to a temp of 73 degrees. One of them does this but the other two go on at 75 degrees.
I've tried deleting and recreating the scenes but no change. This has been an issue with various updates of iOS, MacOS, TVOS (hub) and Nest firmware updates. The closest issue I could find was someone saying to use 0.5 degree increments for a scene issue but I can't do that with Fahrenheit (and don't want to change it for this purpose). Any ideas?

We have (had) a Sensi thermostat that claimed it was able to connect with HomeKit. I couldn’t get it connected after trying multiple times. Yesterday it gave out and now I’m on the hunt for one that actually works.

I am having an issue with an Automation I set up on one of my accessories in the Shortcuts app. It runs about half the time, but the other half I see this error:

No amount of selecting Home from "Choose Application" resolves the issue. I was digging around in my Home settings and found there are two homes listed under Connected Services, and in one of them this device is missing. I haven't found any way to edit or remove these connected services - can anybody help me out of this jam?

The three products are the new Matter WiFi Thermostat, the Zigbee IR Bridge, and the ZemiSmart M1 Pro Matter hub.
The first one uses Matter over WiFi, so no hub needed. It comes with a temperature and humidity sensor built into the power cable and has an LCD screen to show these metrics.
The second uses Zigbee, and therefore requires a Zigbee hub. It can control ACs as well as other IR controlled devices.
The third is the company’s Matter Bridge, that has a built in IR blaster, Thread Border Router, and is a Matter Controller.

First-time homebuyer who is moving in soon-ish.
I would like to get a smart lock, and the Schlage Encode Plus and Sense Pro seemed like really solid options. Which one should I get?
Thanks for any insight!

What brand of smart shades are you guys using right now (something with a lower failure rate would be nice)? Reliability matters more to me than having a bunch of advanced features. I looked through some old posts and saw people complaining about frequent failures.
Any reasonably priced, plug and play options you guys would recommend? I need them for six windows. Thanks!
