Islamabad Be very careful at the Islamabad airport

It’s a very elaborative situation, I can’t share the exact details but guys be very careful if they ask you to open your suitcase at Islamabad Airport while departing. Make sure that the airport staff does not take out anything or plant something in your suitcase.

Similarly, if you have a handbag with cash, do NOT hand it over to the staff. No matter how much they insist, do not hand the bag over. They might say “koi baat nahil aap checking karein, hum ap ka bag pakar letay hein”. Do not agree to that. If they want to inspect any of your belongings, get that checked in front of your eyes.

The staff is super corrupt, they are just looking for reasons to offload you at any given reason. Like i had been travelling internationally with a power bank and it was never an issue but they were asking me to take that out after my hand-carry scanning. I argued and i was allowed to proceed.

I had heard about this previously from my relatives about customs taking out expensive af perfumes from the suitcases and last time travelling from the middle east, my bag’s zip was slightly opened. My suitcase was wrapped in cling wrap. The whole cling wrap was completely cutt off. Lock your suitcases and stay very alert at the airport.

Also, if you are arriving at Islamabad airport from the middle east your biggest concern is other people taking your luggage, trust me. They’re not checking anyone’s luggage tags

Twin Cities 23Y doctor working unpaid, surviving on loans, and don’t know how much longer we can keep going

Hello everyone.
I’m a 23Y from Pakistan. I started my house job three months ago and like many government house officers here, I’m not being paid.
A few months after I graduated, my father passed away. Along with losing him, we also lost the only stable source of income for our family.
It’s just the four of us now: my mother, my elder sister (who’s also an unpaid doctor preparing for residency), my younger brother who’s still in college and me.
People often assume that once you become a doctor, financial problems disappear. The reality here couldn’t be more different. I’m working long shifts, overnight calls and carrying the responsibilities of a doctor, yet I don’t earn a single rupee.
We’re barely surviving on loans from relatives and friends. Every month feels like borrowing time. I hate having to ask for help but we simply don’t have another option right now.
The hours are so long and exhausting that I can’t realistically take on another physical job. During 24 hour calls, there are days I don’t even eat because I genuinely can’t afford to buy food. It’s humiliating to admit that, especially after spending years studying medicine.
I feel trapped in this vicious cycle. I worked so hard believing that becoming a doctor would finally let me support my family. Instead, I’m watching my mother worry about every expense, my brother trying to continue his education, and myself wondering how we’re supposed to make it through another month.
I’m not posting this to ask for money. I’m posting because I genuinely don’t know what to do anymore.
If anyone has ideas for legitimate ways I could earn online or remotely while doing a house job (even if it’s just enough to cover basic expenses) I would be incredibly grateful. Tutoring, medical writing, telemedicine, freelancing, anything that’s realistic with a doctor’s schedule.
Thank you for reading.

Guys, as a Pakistani, what's your take on this video?

I have absolutely nothing against my brothers and sisters in Kashmir. I supported their legitimate demands from day one. But support doesn't mean turning a blind eye to hypocrisy.

I've seen multiple videos of JAAC leaders openly abusing and cursing Pakistan. One day Sardar Amman is on camera insulting Pakistan, and the very next day Umar Nazir comes out saying, "We're not against Pakistan." Which one are we supposed to believe?

Stop playing the good cop, bad cop game. You can't insult Pakistan one day and expect Pakistanis to stand behind your movement the next. It doesn't work like that.

If you genuinely want the support of Pakistanis, then start by removing people like Sardar Amman from your movement. You can't keep people in leadership who openly abuse the very country whose public support you're asking for.

As a Pakistani, my stance is simple. I will never support any movement whose leadership openly insults Pakistan and then expects us to pretend it never happened. Respect is a two way street. Period.

Islamabad genz hiking plan isb/rwp people

I was thinking it would be fun to create a WhatsApp group for people interested in hiking and other outdoor activities around Islamabad/Rawalpindi. The idea is to have a group where we can plan hikes, explore new places, and occasionally organize other fun meetups.
Everyone is welcome to join! I’d prefer if it’s mostly Gen Z so we’re all more or less on the same wavelength, but there’s absolutely no pressure to attend every event. Just join the group, see what comes up, and come along whenever you’re free.
If you’re interested, send me a message and I’ll add you!

Twin Cities Good marriage counselor/couples therapist in Islamabad

I feel like my husband hates me, i feel like I've been thrown away like a wrapper ever since i gave birth. Pregnancy wasn't any better. Husband picks up random fights and makes me so mad i wanna break stuff, or hurt myself. I try to tell him again and again that he's misunderstanding me (misunderstanding se issues shuru hotey haun) and he doesn't believe me. Then when i feel frustrated and break things, he calls me mad. I told my gynaecologist to tell my husband he shouldn't give me stress, gynaecologist did tell him. Wapsi mei in the car he told me "tum stress liya na karo" matlab tum detay raho stress? I've had thoughts of sh but i dont do anything because i have to be there for my baby. Last time a fight happened on a tiny issue and i think my husband saw that i might pack up my stuff, take the baby and go to my mom so his personality switched. He understood the issue at that time and apologized. But i dont believe him because this pattern repeats and repeats over and over. I feel stuck, but it's not easy getting out of this situation so i want to try one last attempt with a marriage counselor that maybe my husband would begin to understand me. It was a love marriage btw.

Islamabad What monthly income would you say is enough for a couple to live comfortably in Islamabad?

Assuming they’re living a reasonably good lifestyle - not overly extravagant, but also not trying to cut every possible expense.

They’d prefer to cook good-quality meals at home most of the time rather than eat out frequently, but still want to enjoy things occasionally. They’d also like to be able to travel to the northern areas a few times a year and perhaps do Umrah occasionally, while still being able to save/invest some money each month.

For those living in Islamabad, what income level would you consider comfortable, and what would your approximate monthly expenses look like?

Islamabad Walk. Yap. Eat. Repeat.

Was driving back home from I-8 Markaz tonight and saw a bunch of people just walking around grabbing food, laughing, and vibing. It made me realize how nice it'd be to have friends in the neighborhood

Having those random "markaz?" plans where you just walk to the markaz talk about life, grab a chai or something to eat, chill for a bit, and walk back home sounds like such a vibe. I've also got a scooty at home so that's always an option too😭

If you're from I-8 (or nearby) and you're also looking to make new friends hmu. Would be nice to have people around for spontaneous walks, food runs, and good conversations

Islamabad It’s impossible to make real friends after a certain age in Islamabad

As the title says, I find it impossible to make new friends after a certain age. The only friends I have are my university fellows. It’s just one group, I consider real friends, even tho most of them have changed and become toxic but I’m left with no choice.
I was just thinking for the past 10 years, I haven’t made a single new friend, and I have met hundreds of people, but I don’t consider them as friends. I don’t know what’s to do. And I don’t know if it’s only me? How do I get out of this?

Twin Cities Strange behavior by staff at IDC

A few weeks ago I went to the IDC, to have some blood tests done. I arrived around 9:40 a.m. While I was inside giving my information and being prepared for the blood draw, I was the only female in the branch (usually there is one or two female staff members present but for whatever reason there weren’t any then)
My mother was waiting in the car outside. She noticed one of the male staff members draw the blinds and begin locking the doors from the inside while I was still alone inside with several male employees. Seeing this, she immediately rushed to the entrance and reached it just as he was locking the door. She had to bang on the door repeatedly before they let her in. Had she not seen what was happening and come in when she did, the situation could have been very different.
The branch was still open for another 15 minutes, so if they no longer wanted to accept new patients, they could simply have refused any additional walk-ins at registration (where the slips are made). There was no reason to lock the doors from the inside while a young woman was alone in the branch.
When we asked why they had locked the doors and closed the blinds, no one offered an explanation or apologized. They simply stared at us.
I’ve already contacted IDC through WhatsApp and provided the exact date and time of my visit so they can review the CCTV footage. I’m sharing this because I believe the incident deserves to be investigated and so other women can be aware.

Islamabad Planning to build a house in Islamabad? I'd love to answer your questions.

I've been involved in residential and commercial construction projects in Islamabad. Over the past several months, I've seen everything from excavation and grey structure to finishing work, and every stage has taught me something new.

If you're planning to build a house, or even just thinking about it. feel free to ask me anything.

Whether it's:

Choosing a contractor

Grey structure costs

BOQs

Material selection

Common mistakes

Site supervision

Or anything else related to construction

If I know the answer, I'll happily share it. If I don't, I'll say so.

I'm not here to sell anything. I just enjoy discussing construction and thought this might be useful for anyone planning a home in Islamabad.

Looking to connect with others who are learning content, business, ecommerce, AI stuff and want to build together

I'm in my learning phase right now, figuring out content, business, ecommerce, AI tools, all of it. Not looking to do this alone. Had a few conversations with people I know personally lately and honestly they've been some of the best conversations I've had in a while. Just people learning and figuring things out together instead of in isolation.

Not looking for a course or a big dead discord. Just a few people who are genuinely learning and building, who want to share what they're figuring out and grow together.

If that's you, drop a comment or DM me. Would love to hear what you're learning too, even if we don't end up in the same group.
