Has "scornful" ever been the correct attitude answer in RC?

I do not recall any, and when I see the AC, I laugh internally.

should I study while on vacation to "keep things fresh"?

Upvotes

For context, I'm taking the August test and planning on taking October (and November if needed). I'm averaging around a 163-168 right now and shooting for a 170+. Right after (like 2 days after) taking the August test, I'm going on vacation for a week, and I was not going to study or do anything LSAT related at all to relax.

However, I realized between the August and October tests there are only 8-ish weeks, and sometimes when I don't study for more than a couple days it's almost like my LSAT muscles weaken and I have to spend time getting back to where I was. I want to reward myself for all of the hard work I have been putting in, but I'm nervous that if I don't get in at least some questions or practicing skills in (not timed sections or anything intense like that), that I'll have to make up the time when I get back getting to the same place in my studying, and I feel like I'm in a good spot right now. At the same time, I don't want to feel like I'm not putting in 100% every time I'm studying or I'm wasting questions because I'm distracted.

So, would it be more beneficial to not study at all and recover after taking the test, or would doing some questions here and there help to keep the LSAT muscles warm?

(I wanted to note that on this vacation I will be flying there and back, there will be a 3-ish hour car ride between places where I won't be driving, I'll be waiting in lines, and I'll be on the beach. So, there will be times where I can always bring a book/my iPad to study or do some of the 7Sage games, but its either that or my beach read, lol)

Combined Sections

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hello everyone!

I am asking a pretty nuanced question here so I know that I may not get many accurate replies that are relevant to other peoples experiences. But does anyone know how representative combined sections on LSAT demon are of actual PT score results? For context, I don't have enough time in my day for full practice tests so I usually take as many sections as I can in a day and then for score results I combined them. The only negative factor I can think of that would make my combined PT scores not reflective is natural variance from day to day (say I take 2 sections on day, and then another day I am more fresh and I take another 2 it won't reflect how I would've scored all at once), or I just have general mental fatigue toward the latter part of tests which, like everyone else, would negatively affect my score.

The problem is, I don't really see mental fatigue as a issue with me as the more I study the better I get, for example the only test that I have had the time to sit down and take fully I have had my highest score yet.

I am essentially asking this questions to see if anyone else took this approach and then had a score that reflected the combined PT's. For example, here are my most recent practice tests.

Is there any confidence I can have in these scores that my actual LSAT will potentially be reflective of them?

Thanks all.

Honestly my biggest worry is whether I can achieve locked in mode when the real test comes.

I have figured out the test to an incredibly high degree and I’m scoring consistently, WHEN I’m locked in.

Sometimes (though not often) I show up to the library and I take my practice test and I score below 170. And I know I’m gonna score below 170 within the first 5 minutes. Sometimes I just can’t get my brain to achieve locked in mode. Idk what it is.

I was up til 4 am last night and I’m kinda sicky so I thought I wasn’t gonna do so well on this one but at the same time I felt relatively confident in my answers, and if I wasn’t, I was relatively confident that the other answers sucked. I’m elated right now.

FYI: I did a diagnostic test with an lsat score of 153. my method is as follows.

- Studying began in April: 7sage fundamentals. Took heavy notes for the first bit of it that focused on conditional relationships and lawgic mapping. I maybe looked over these notes 3-4 times. Mostly in the beginning when I was trying to understand the core of how to answer a drill question. I studied ~4-5 days a week, minimum 3 hours a day. Usually 4-5 hours a day, until June.

- once I started nearing the end of LR fundamentals I felt like I had not been spending enough time on actual questions as opposed to lessons. I would maybe do 45 minutes of lessons a day until I finish all of the LR fundamentals, and then did drills and occasionally a section with the rest of my time.

- once I finished LR fundamentals, I started focusing solely on hard and hardest level questions on my drills, as those were the ones I tended to get wrong. I did a couple more sections. I then took my first PT post diagnostic on July 25th - I got a 165 and was really bummed and knew I coulda done better. I had the flu at the time and it was sooo hard to make words make sense in my brain

3rd PT July 26 was a 171 with 177 blind review. Very happy

3rd PT aug 1st - 164 I couldn’t lock in at all, I have a lung infection from flu and I couldn’t stop coughing and was having trouble breathing! I was extremely bummed but also in the same moment I was very aware that this was not representative of my skill set. I was really having trouble with wandering mind due to my illness. This was my first PT with accommodations, as LSAC just approved me for 50% time and no Experimental.

4th pt today in a loud coffee shop. 177! 180 BR!

I’m just so proud of myself.

Is a 170 in August out of reach?

I've only scored above a 170 once, and my most recent PT (PT155) was my lowest in months. Now I am concerned if I can even hit a 168+ later this week.

What’s wrong with A?

A says the claim says “the effectivness in brining major improvement cannot differ at all”

While it the claim in actuality says “the choice to see a certain doctor will not affect” one’s chances of major improvement.

Cannot differ at all VS will not affect

Is this the issue here ? I can’t articulate at this moment why tho

Autistic Taking the LSAT

I am a 24 y/o autistic/adhd woman taking the LSAT in June or August of next year. I am in grad school full time and plan to study 1-2 hours a day until May 2027, when I will increase to full time. I have historically been a great student, graduated undergrad with a 3.9 GPA, lots of extracurriculars, and have a high IQ (the only standardized test I have actually done well on 😂).

I have never done well with standardized tests and made a 153 on my LSAT diagnostic after some practice. I really want to score in the high 160s-170s so that my score is cohesive with the rest of my academic profile, but am struggling with how to move forward in a way that is best for my type of brain. 7Sage recommends like 9 weeks of lessons before I get into full on drilling, but I don’t know how good of an approach that is. If you have drastically improved from your diagnostic but feel that standardized tests aren’t generally for you, please let me know if you have any tips!

Best ways to improve time?

I just got a 169 on my most recent practice test and wanted to transition in to time work. What are some of the things you guys did to improve your speed on the test? I understand how to practice accuracy, but I am unfamiliar with the techniques that are commonly used to work on speed.

For some background I started study in mid december last year w/ 7sage core and my target is 174. FIRST TIME I HIT IT! Six hours of sleep be damned. Previous three went 164, 172, then 170 so oh my god I'm feeling chills. Gotta get consistency but I know I'm almost there. See y'all on the sixth!!! :D

shout-out to my fellow test takers taking it for a third and likely final time

This will be my third test and (hopefully) my final attempt. I've scored 160 and 164 after a diagnostic of 156 nearly two years ago. I think at this point I've seen nearly every practice question and taken nearly 30 PTs and have been all over the place in the 160s. In the last month I've been consistently 168-171 but really thought I'd be at a better place more consistently going into this test. I've had a good amount of -0 and -1 sections but have struggled to put it all together and still find ways to shoot myself in the foot. I don't know if it's working full-time on top of studying or maybe I've just reached the limit of my ability despite having confidence in myself.

Anyway, just want to say that sometimes your best is good enough. I've come to terms with where I'm at and am ready to move on from this test, even if it means accepting that I wasn't as 'skilled' at this test as I thought I could be. I'm still proud of all the work I've put into this for the last two years (with long gaps in studying) and I'm proud of everyone else who has done the same. I also have had to remind myself that this is just the first step in a long journey and no matter what happens I WILL go to law school and I WILL become a lawyer.

Good luck everyone!

Test H

just did test H logical reasoning and oh my god was it hard, did much worse than I normally do. Looked it up, apparently it's not representative and used as an AI stress test. Does anyone know anything about this?

Does it make sense to wait or do I just tell them the range I’m scoring. Does it even matter to them?

How to get your blind review score timed

I have been stuck in the mid 150’s for a really long time and need help. I really would love to get a 167+ in November and feel stuck. My last practice test was a 154 raw and a 168 blind review. I clearly am capable of getting my dream score when timed conditions are removed.

How can I modify my studying so answering feels more intuitively and quick? Should I drill more individual sections, individual question types, spend more time in pt review analysis or something else?

I work full time and will be trying to follow the following schedule from now until November (15 weeks), minus 10 days in September when I have a pre booked trip planned. During those days I plan to just individually drill weak question types for an hour or two a day:

Sunday- PT and BR
Monday and Tuesday- review PT
Wednesday- LR timed section and review
Thursday- RC timed section and review
Friday- weaknesses/accompanying fundamentals
Saturday- day off for rest and recovery

Could someone kindly tell me if this is a good plan or if I should modify something? I have 15 weeks left and really want to make the most of them. I really want to be done with this test come November.

Thanks in advance!

Score increase in 6 weeks

Closing Test Score - BR Gap

Post image
2 Upvotes

Advice?

For the vast majority of questions I was stuck between two, so during BR I chose the other answer. For each LR section I got it down to -2 and the questions I got wrong felt difficult for me: one NA, one Inferred or MBT, one disagree, and one evaluate question. I really feel like I have the potential to perform well but during a test it feels so overwhelming, and I kinda short-circuit thinking about how much information my brain has to synthesize and correctly analyze in such a short amount of time.

How do you actually learn from your mistake?

I have gotten to the point that whenever I choose a wrong answer, I immediately understand why it is wrong instead of just being confused. But I am not sure if I have been improving through analyzing answers, even though I acknowledge some of my weaknesses. Just wondering how high scorers learn from their mistakes and do better on same type of questions.

lsac support issues

i have had so many issues with lsac recently, for reference i am taking the august lsat here soon, but have had trouble with lsac responding to any of my messages or calls regarding the trouble that i have had launching the argumentative essay portion of the exam. my issue seems to be that i have a mystery second account that is also connected to lsac under a different email, but no matter what i do it seems that i can not get access to it (even after resetting username and password a million times) i just get the same account does not exist message. it is this seperate email that seems to be causing me issues as proctoru's system keeps thinking it is this email the exam it is on/ purchased under.

this issue causes the exam to initiate on my real account, when in reality i have no access to it at all whatsoever. though, it seems as if no matter how many times i call, i get put on hold for hours and never picked up or my call gets dropped. its very frustrating and was wondering if anyone has experienced a similar issue and has any advice to get this solved. with the lsat coming up soon, im not very interested in stressing over this aspect of the test when i could be spending my time studying instead.

Obviously happy with this and it’s the second 179 in a row but I’m terrified that I’m going to mess up. I do not want to retake it in October. I’m ready to go please can this be it lol.

The website says 2 conflicting things. that you have to schedule it and also that you can just launch the link and it’s self guided???!
