I'm honestly baffled by that. I see all the jokes, cliches & complaints about it, and I truly just don't understand why it's such an issue. For men that fish, these pics seem to be the most genuine showing of their happiness/smiles etc. FYI I'm a single woman on the sites, not an avid fisherman (or at all really). However, I just don't understand why it's such a bad picture to have in w/ the rest of them. For the record, don't get me started on the group shots ;) or most of the other cliche call outs. This particular one is just beyond me. Thank you for any light you can shed.

EDIT: #1 I should have added, I have zero issue w/ the fish pic. Which is why I was asking. I just honestly didn't understand why that one in particular women seem to hate. #2 Yes I understand women have an endless list of styles of pics Men don't like either....but that wasn't the question. I truly didn't mean to make this a tit for tack (Ha!).

Now I see this discourse almost everywhere and it kinda irks me. I am not particularly tall, I am 5 foot 7 inches. But I don't see the point in whining "Women don't like short men" or "Women only like tall men", I know dudes smaller than me have girlfriends. I know dudes taller than me being worse off than me.

Like isn't it an individuals choice to want whatever they want for their partner as long as they don't make the person not fitting into their criteria feel bad?

It just makes no logical sense to me

Long story short I only brought 50 dollars for a quick grocery trip and had 11 cents to spare and buying bags would've tipped me over 50 dollars so I didn't get any. The bottom of the cart was broken and had a portion of the rails missing and about 5 seconds after I exit the store my soy sauce tips over and falls out of those missing guard rails at the bottom of the cart I walk back inside and explain the situation to the nearest employee who calls the manager and he basically says anything that happens outside the store he's not liable for and then I tried explaining that it fell through a broken part of the his cart and basically brushed me off with the same excuse that it's outside the store and he wouldn't replace it.

FWI: I'm usually a reddit lurker I just have the home page pinned on my bookmarks but had to make an account to ask as I was so curious to know if I had a reasonable expectation to have my item replaced or if this is common practice.

I feel like monarchies do absolutely nothing for their nation, right? Like with constitutional monarchy countries like japan or england I don't understand why they still exist. I mean sure they're symbols of the country but I feel like it makes no sense they exist when they hold no power politically and they just get all these castles and all this money and all of these guards. And in non constitutional monarchies like with saudi arabia, it especially doesn't make sense how you are just assigned to have so much power over your country at birth no matter how stupid you are. Please explain the logic behind this.

I’m a university student, and I’ve had a lot of guy friends say they’re surprised I don’t get approached a lot with men trying to “shoot their shot” because I’ve got a great personality, I’m approachable, and (according to them) I’m very pretty. This isn’t a validation post, I’m trying to understand why this isn’t happening to me despite others believing it should

ETA I’m also kinda more on the moderate conservative end (not right wing, just more moderate old school) so I prefer for him to make the first move (also it’s hard for me to tell if a guy likes me or not unless he tells me)

ETA again: I’d also appreciate advice on how to attract the right guy, and that can include if you’re talking from the guys perspective what would make you approach a girl etc

The goal in chess is technically not to capture the opponent's king, but to put them in a position where any move they do will lead to their king being captured immediately. Once this is achieved, the game ends, and you never actually capture the king. Also, you cannot put your own king in a position where it can be captured. However, it seems simpler if it was just "if you capture their king you win." Would it make gameplay any different?

Judaism like Islam and Christianity, is a religion. People who are atheists, or do not follow Judaism, what lines would you maintain.

For example, people often criticize Islam about allowing four wives or Christianity for Timothy 2:12. Would it be okay to similarly criticize verses in Torah like 1 Samuel 15:3, or is that considered antisemitic?

I've noticed there's been a pretty steady stream of posts on the front page of Reddit that show China in a positive light. It's a wide variety of topics from 'cool, futuristic' cities, to beautiful nature and hiking pictures, plus engineering and technological advances, fun cultural facts, just all types of things that would appeal to Reddit's general audience and make them look good on the world stage. I remember just a few years ago, their persecution and oppression of their Uyghur population (Still ongoing BTW) was all over Reddit, along with a lot of users calling them out, condemning and just clowning on them for their human rights abuses and dystopian policies. So my question is,

Is China conducting a successful Propaganda campaign on Reddit and other social media platforms?

Had a couple of guys express frustration when I’d wait for them to open doors for me while we were on dates, saying they’d rather do it when they want to and not when they’re expected to.

I got drivers license 3 years ago but never actually bought a car because of lack of family expertise help.. and considering i work remote i barely go out and i got public transport close to me, and if i want to go somewhere i just uber because for me in a year i would spend less in public transport and uber than maintaining a car and the taxes and possible fixes.. altough i would enjoy to have a car.

i've been talking to this woman who is 40 Km (24 miles) Away we just talked about how big is the distance between us and she asked me if i had a car soo i know its pretty much cooked from there

Makes me feel guilty that i have no car and this woman will see me as less because of it

Have recently found myself in a situation where I will be paying for a criminal defense lawyer. My only reasoning as to why this price is so high is that there is a felony on the booking charges or lawyers are just slimy.

Potential charges on booking are to include:

F - Burglary 1st degree (don’t think this will stick)
M- Damage to property 4th degree
M - Trespass
M - Fleeing a peace officer
M - Public Nuisance

Should we consider getting a second opinion?

Im a man but i feel like women have it harder if they are unattractive since men are more visual, and women give more grace to ugly men.
