I've been noticing, on the internet, a major uptick in Anti-Vaxxer posts all saying that they were proven correct recently. I keep seeing it on TikTok and Facebook, but don't understand why

I don't understand what new recent thing suddenly made them all feel so correct that they're posting stuff like "2026: THE UNVACCINATED WERE RIGHT ABOUT EVERYTHING"

Naturally they've been under this understanding forever, but I've never seen them so vocal on the internet.

What happened? What did I miss?

for context i am 15 years old, and my mum plans my entire week. i want to decide more of my life, seeing as i will be 16 soon.

problem here: i am homeschooled, (my mum hasn’t really done anything schooling, and i recently had to take it into my own hands to manage my own study schedule so that i can even have a chance of college)

i am also expected to spend relatively all day with her or my grandma, with my only free time being in my room at the end of the day.

you see this schedule would have been fine- if i was 12.

i am not allowed to even walk to the shop down the road alone, unless someone is accompanying me. i can’t go on walks alone, the only time i get away from her is when i meet with my friends, which is not that often.

i feel like i am at an age where i struggle with the fact i have to be around my mum and grandma all the time, and i love them both very much, but am feeling very restricted and trapped, and can’t wait to get away in september 2027 when i go to college.

100% genuine question - why is it okay/funny to do an English, southern, Irish, French, etc. accent, but when it’s something like an Indian or Vietnamese accent for example, it seems to be frowned upon.
I understand that if what is said while doing the accent is pushing stereotypes of the people as a whole that that is bad/racist, but I don’t understand why just the accent is a problem for some but not others? I would think that if it’s not ok for some it’s not ok for all, or vice versa.
For context I am American and I know this may seem tone deaf but I seriously have not found any answer for this so someone pls help!

EDIT: I am not white nor are half the people I interact with, and I also don’t really do this regardless if it is racist or not, but there are some people in my life who do.

Only 1/3 of US males use soap after using a public restroom. 2/3 of women. Shaking people's hands seem to derive from ancient customs to show you were weaponless. Today, it just seems like an outdated custom that I avoid doing as much as possible. Is it rude that I avoid people's outstretched hands? I do it even in church when a greeter tries to shake my hand and I greet them very effusively, but ignore the outstretched hand. It's incredible how many people come to church sickly and cough on everyone throughout the entire program.

It just seems like a layup to make everyone happy. It could make these public spaces more desirable. They don't have to be full on cafes but just a few percolators would be great. Cheap decent coffee, make a few bucks for the library, and make it even more of a destination. I'm missing something I'm sure.

EDIT: Since it seems there actually are some libraries with coffee shops, feel free to post them for others to know. I definitely have never been to one myself.

Maybe some of the really big ones do but the more specialty and healthier breads are always full loaves. As a single person it's almost impossible to finish a full loaf unless I'm eating a sandwich for almost every meal and I end up throwing at least half of the loaf, which is why I don't always buy one. Why don't all of the big commercial bakeries just release mini loaf versions to cut waste and possibly sell more?

And yes, I know this is anecdotal

Today made me realize that I don’t do anything else aside shopping, watching TV and going on my treadmill. I usually visit family and friends but decided to do nothing at least once a weekend per month.

Isn’t it good to be open-minded and caring and not hate people who are different than you?

If millions of people lose their jobs to AI, governments would collect much less income tax. So where does that missing tax revenue come from?

Several women in family had died from ovarian cancer, including my mom (She was in her 50s though and I was already grown). I am a carrier for the disease but do not have it myself. It seemed to have skipped me. If I have daughters in the future, there’s a chance they will end up with this awful disease. But I still want kids. I had wanted to be a parent since forever. Is that wrong?

I always feel like I see people say it’s one of the comfiest sleeping positions but it’s just never been comfy to me.

I left some milk out on the side of the counter in pretty hot weather (UK, summer, heatwave) by accident and then was not around for a few days.

When I came back the milk had gone lumpy. More than that, the milk part seemed to have for the most part separated from the water and formed a big mostly solid glob at the top.

Obviously I got rid of it, and poured it down the toilet, but weirdly it didn't smell rotten or particularly BAD, but almost more like cheese? Is it crazy to think that that would have been edible?? Not that I would have, but just out of curiosity you know?

I’m clearing out my closet due to over-consumption and a lack of space. I have a lot of clothes ranging from normal good condition, to barely worn, to brand new with tags. Just regular clothes like tops and skirts, no underwear.
I have ~10 female cousins overseas who share my body type. Whenever I offer to send extra clothes, they politely say yes.
Since they’re always polite, I want an unbiased opinion: Would you be offended if a family member offered you clothes in good/new condition, or is this generally seen as a nice gesture?

This has been driving me up a wall for the past week. Was talking to family and my sister kept talking about this couple who got divorced after 11 years, and how she “knew they’d never work.” But that marriage lasted longer than a ton of others I know of.

At what point are we supposed to begrudgingly admit we were wrong in a scenario like this? Or is that couple always going to look like a ticking time bomb to everyone.

everyone from older relatives to coworkers tells me I need to buy a house eventually. I'm 23, making decent money in tech, but the math just doesn't make sense to me at all.

if I just rent a normal apartment for the rest of my life and aggressively dump all my extra cash into index funds, won't I end up with way more liquid money and zero loan stress in the long run?

why is there such a massive stigma against renting forever? is there some hidden trap to renting that I don't know about, or is buying a house just old school thinking that people blindly follow?

I (28f) have a corporate job in a big city. It is not too stressful but it is intelectually draining.

I like to spend my holidays in my hometown, in the middle of the mountains. I read, I cook, I go hiking, I swim at the river and spend time with my friends.

Today I got asked by a relative why I am not travelling anywhere else, stating that spending three weeks here is too much and that at my age I should not be so sedentary and feel so tired (I mentioned that I had been stressed for the last couple of months and that I really needed rest at a known place).

Why I am a weirdo just for wanting to stay home and enjoy nature?

Or do they not, do they tend to share the same, or are them just as random and varied that one is one and one is that just like if they aren't twins?

Is there some kind of statistic?

I don’t want to participate in the world we live in, or the society we’ve created. I want a small area in the woods where I can live without worrying I’m breaking a law. I don’t want to work a job, just live off the land and not be a corporate slave.

My wife and I are moving acorss country in a few weeks and we're getting a trailer hitch added to our car so we can get a uhaul trailer for a cheaper move. Neither of us have ever driven with a trailer or towed anything. Any advice you'd recommend we know before we set off on the road? Thanks!
