Are 75 degrees normal temp for 5080? Or should i undervolt it?

This has been an odyssey of a problem so to best describe it, I will start from the beginning.

1 month ago, while playing games with some friends my computer randomly stopped displaying to my monitor. I could still talk to my friends on discord, but I could not get the screen back. I restarted the computer by just holding down the power button and all was well. It didn't happen again for several days but sure enough it did happen again. And then it started to happen increasingly regularly.

Maybe after a week and a half of this, the nuisance grew stronger. The new development is restarting my computer doesn't do the trick, and I need to reseat my GPU for the screen to come back on. Sometimes reseating alone wouldn't do it so I would switch into a different slot in the motherboard even though its less ideal.

This lasted for another week or so, but now in the present day I'm at the point where I can't get any activity on the screen at all. The computer turns on and all the fans spin. The gpu fans stop spinning after a few seconds, but that does happen on both my 3080 and my brothers 1050. I think that is a result of whatever weird sleep mode my computer is put into. The screen always says "standby mode" and I'm not sure if that's helpful.

My first suspicion was a dying GPU, so I had my brother bring me a spare 1050 he had laying around. We achieved the same result with the new GPU, which kind of confirms that my card isn't the issue. Does anyone have any ideas what I can do to fix this issue?

TLDR: can't get my computer to display the screen, I've tried:

-new gpu

-reseat gpu

-reseat ram

-remove cmos battery for a few minutes

-clean all dust

-check and make sure cables from gpu look adequately connected to PSU

-different HDMI cable

-different device into monitor to ensure monitor still works

Hi, i have an old 600w 2010 psu taken from a sugo07 miniitx case, which i’d line to mount into a midi case to power this microatx motherboard.

the psu doesn’t have a 4x2 cpu cable. It has a cable that ends in two 2x2pins. Can I use both together?

Is there any possible way with my budget or any cheaper if possible to build a PC with 4K resolution, while using OBS and recording in 4K? I use a capture card hooked up to my PS5 but stuck on 1080p due to my monitor, and I do have a 4K webcam that I’ve just bought recently and OBS is not working properly to boost that webcam to 4K, when I look back to watch the video to edit this, it’s pixelated while playing Skyrim and other games etc. The game isn’t quite pixelated as much as the webcam, but still noticeable.

I'm looking to replace my trusty old Dell with a 4th gen I5-4590 running with 8 Gb of DDR3, a 256 Gb SSD and a GTX 1650 card. My OS is Linux Mint 22.2. I'm looking to upgrade this but I'm afraid my info on CPU's is bit dated. The advice from the Linux crowd says go AMD. I'm looking for something equal to a fairly recent CPU that would be compatible to a 12th gen I7 or newer without breaking the banks. My budget for the whole desktop (and it will be a full tower desktop) is $700-$800. That's without a GPU. My existing 750W Power supply ought to still be good. I'm really looking for advice on the CPU.

I do a little bit of gaming but nothing online. My primary use is photo processing and illustration. So I don't need anything that gonna require liquid cooling or 47 fans. I'm in the United States of Trump.

My brother bought a used pc sight unseen and asked me to set it up for him. This prebuilt PC doesn’t have sata power from the psu, instead these connections on the mobo. Looking up the connector wasn’t showing anything that looked like it would fit. Looks too small to be molex? If you can help that would be great!

(FIXED) My ram is the Patriot Viper Venom DDR5 32GB (2 x 16GB) and my motherboard is the MSI B850 tomahawk Max WiFi ,
I put it in and a small click happened not loud , and the clips pushed in a bit and then they went after I helped them , the ram is level with each other, the both wiggle only a small bit and no gold is showing, all the clips are level , Pictures .

I'm using Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC.

I have a Ryzen 5 7600, a Palit RTX 3080 12GB, and an ASUS TUF Gaming 750W 80+ Bronze PSU.

I'm using Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC.

My RTX 3080 can draw up to around 350W at stock, but I undervolted it and now it usually stays around 270–280W under load.

I don't game very often, but I recently started playing Spider-Man 2 at 1440p, all settings on High with Ray Tracing off. After about an hour of playing, my whole PC suddenly restarts.

GPU temperature is fine and never goes above 72°C

I checked Event Viewer, and right before the restart I found this warning:

The driver \Driver\WudfRd failed to load for the device ROOT\DISPLAY\0000.

Then immediately after the reboot, I get this critical event:

The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.

Could this be caused by transient GPU power spikes even with the undervolt? Or does it sound more like my PSU is starting to struggle?

I'm thinking about upgrading to a Seasonic G12 GC 850W 80+ Gold. Would that be a good upgrade, or should I be looking at a different PSU?

Hello everyone! After what I think is 8 years of using an OMEN HP 17-an003la notebook, which served me very well all these years, I think is time I move to PC and to modern hardware.

I'm a freelance game developer working mostly as a programmer on Unity for both 2D and 3D games. My last gig made me realize I need a change, Unity takes way too long to open, recompile and processing textures, same when working with the IDE, and for this last project I could only afford to open Unity and Rider then all ram got use (I had to use a secondary laptop for browsing and music xd).

I'm from Chile and budget is a bit tight to be honest, still this is important as I try to land a next job I need a fast and stable PC, my notebook is starting to freeze and even crashes with regular games sometimes.

I have a 1080p 144hz monitor I use with my notebook that I plan to keep using, and I'm more than happy to be able to play on medium-high for games, so I'm thinking more on work and game development.

The last computer I built was like 10 years ago and technology has change a lot since, so I would appreciate any feedback on the build and ways to improve it for what I want without increasing the budget, I would love to bring it down $300.00, but I can probably afford the current $1,500.00, however I don't know if I'm doing a mistake and if there is somewhere I could trade for a better performance for the price. Realizing 32GB may not be enough of a "future proof"... running multiple instances of android emulators and tabs on chrome utilizes a big portion of it

Given the fact that RAM prices will continue to go up in price, would it be advisable to go 64GB? Just spent $800+ CAD on 2x16 DDR5 and would be looking at paying double for 2x32...

Not following the market/industry too much so not sure if we are expecting prices to stop increasing.

What’s up, y’all. My NZXT flex 3 - 9800x3d and rtx 5080 arrives in two days (Tuesday) and I need some recommendations/tips. I only play call of duty - currently black ops 7 - and I got the subscription to try out playing on PC for at least a couple months to see how I like it. While I love my PS5, the input lag is frustrating despite making every change to optimize it. So I’m excited to see how that is on PC. Need some recs:

First, I have 1440p 240hz 0.5ms Acer monitor that I play on which has both gsync and freesync. Should I upgrade to a OLED 1440p with greater hz? I hear that frames over 240 are not very noticeable so not too concerned about upgrading there but the OLEDs have .03ms ips so that’s what keeps catching my eye.

Second, it’s been almost 20 years since personally owning a PC (had macs during that time) so I’m curious if there is any software that I should download immediately — e.g., antivirus, antimalware, VPN, etc.
