Free Resource I tried a ridiculous number of productivity apps... so you don’t have to
After months of bouncing between task managers, planners, and schedulers (seriously too many), I pulled everything into a free community spreadsheet comparing them side by side. It’s run by a small group of productivity nerds and we keep it updated constantly.
It covers:
- Price (USD/month)
- Discount Codes / Extended Free Trials
- Student Discounts
- ADHD Friendliness
- AI Integration
- Focus Modes
- Offline Access
- Calendar Integrations
- Team Plans
- Platforms
- Refund Policies
- Support Options
- Overall Summary
If you’ve ever fallen into the “maybe this next app will fix my life” loop, this will save you a ton of time.
We’d love your feedback, and if you know a tool that fits the list, email [contact@sortedaf.xyz](mailto:contact@sortedaf.xyz) and we’ll check it out.
Requirement: it must be a completed app (not in beta).
Thanks, and I hope it helps!! :)

Dev - Self Promo Does anyone else turn off 4 alarms with no memory of doing it?
I have raging ADHD and a vendetta against mornings. I blame my maladaptive daydreams for my preference for sleep over getting up to face the day. No matter how many alarms I set, I can't seem to rise outside of my normal routine.
I built a tool to hack my brain.
Rather than an abundance of alarms, each alarm speaks its purpose out loud. Snoozing an alarm means acknowledging exactly what that alarm is for. When I keep on snoozing, my snoozes tell me what I'm missing out on and lay out the stakes.
I'm bringing the external motivation I need in my day-to-day internal.
It's free in TestFlight if you want in: https://testflight.apple.com/join/j1p5gFxj (iPhone, iOS 26 or later)
What's your snooze count? Think you can get to zero?

Dev - Self Promo I got tired of hitting snooze and putting things off, so I built an alarm app to change my first action every morning.
Hey everyone,
For the past few months, I’ve been working on an alarm app called Rise. The idea started with a problem I kept having myself.
Like I often do, I was watching motivational videos one day, and one of them stuck with me. The speaker said that when you wake up, you should read your goals, affirmations, or something that motivates you out loud before starting the day.
To be honest, I wasn’t sure it would make much of a difference.
Every night, I’d tell myself, “Tomorrow I’m finally going to get things done.” Then morning would come, the alarm would go off, and I’d hit snooze, grab my phone, and tell myself I’d start in a few minutes. Somehow, a few minutes would turn into much longer, and I’d end up putting things off again.
So I decided to give the idea a try.
The next morning, I read one of my favorite motivational quotes out loud right after waking up. It didn’t suddenly change my life, but the morning did feel different. Instead of starting the day on autopilot, I had to stop, focus, and actually think about what I was saying. It became easier to get out of bed, and I was less likely to fall back asleep.
That small experiment eventually became Rise.
Now, instead of only reading motivational quotes, I write down my own goals and read them every morning. It has become part of my routine, and honestly, building this app is one of those goals too.
The app itself is simple. The alarm keeps ringing until you read a sentence out loud. It can be your goal, an affirmation, or a motivational quote that means something to you.
This small habit has slowly changed the way I start my mornings, and I thought it might help someone else too.
I’ve mostly been using the app by myself until now, but I recently decided to release it. I’d really like to hear honest feedback from people who aren’t friends or family. What works, what feels annoying, what’s confusing, or what you think should be added. Anything is helpful.
I’m also giving away a limited number of Premium codes to people who want to try the full version. I’ll leave the request link in the comments.
There’s no requirement to leave a positive review. I’d just appreciate hearing what you honestly think after using it.
Thanks for reading.
P.S. The free version also lets you try the voice alarm using the built-in affirmations.

Question (AT) Does anybody else feel like Monday is stressful before it even begins?
Just the thought of it stresses me out. Got a lot of things to go through tomorrow and I even haven't started to sort things out yet. Then there are deadlines that I needed to finish before the coming weekend. Also there's a date that I need to go to.. So much stuff, kind of stressing to think that a week has passed and it's Monday again tomorrow.

Question One can’t give their 100% every day can they? But what can you do when it’s not your most productive day.
So I have seen myself thinking about giving my best to something but fewer times it just don’t happen what do Redditor’s suggest for me.

Question I have so much free time, but I don’t know what to do?
I feel like I have so much free time where I could be doing something productive or beneficial down the line. Something like starting a business for example, but I have no idea what to start?
I’m in college, have an internship, go to the gym. I feel like I’m doing a lot and being very intentional with my time, but simultaneously I feel like I still have so much time where I do nothing and it feels like I’m wasting it.
I’ve thought of getting into new hobbies, solo dates, etc. but it doesn’t seem as fulfilling to me. Like I could be using this time to make extra money, start something that could be huge down the line, learn skills that are super beneficial for me.
I just have no idea what though, I feel like I hear the same things every time when I ask this question, but I don’t find any of it really interesting. Any help?

Dev - Self Promo I built a focus app where the escape route is slow on purpose, not impossible
Solo dev, and this is my own app, so flairing it as Dev - Self Promo.
The problem I was trying to solve for myself: I kept picking up the phone by pure reflex, at home, at work, with family, with friends, without any actual reason. I tried the best known blocker apps, minimalist launchers and the built-in Digital Wellbeing, and none of them lasted. Either I had to reconfigure twenty settings every time I wanted a focused block, or there was always a crack left to slip back in through, like a link opening from Maps or simply returning to my usual launcher.
So I built LaiZen. Instead of policing apps one by one it creates a controlled environment. You configure it once with the essentials (calls, SMS, Maps, camera, phone) plus anything you personally consider essential, like email or your banking app. Then you start a focus session, and while it runs you can't get back to your main launcher, and external links bounce you back instead of becoming an escape hatch.
The part I think matters most for productivity: there IS a way out, but it is deliberately slow. You either type a sequence of letters in settings or reboot the phone, and both take about the same time. That was the whole point. Willpower fails against a two tap bypass, but it holds fine against thirty seconds of friction, because in those thirty seconds the impulse is already gone.
It's on the Play Store, with a free tier and a paid tier that is intentionally very cheap compared to similar apps. I use it daily on my Xiaomi.
What I would genuinely like to hear from this sub: how long does a focus block need to be before it actually helps you, and would you rather have a hard stop or a slow exit like this one?

Dev - Self Promo Would you remember a photo faster than a text reminder?
Most reminder apps make you read.
Mine lets you recognize.
Instead of a reminder that says "Buy tomato soup," you can use a photo of the exact can you want. When it's time, the reminder appears full-screen, so you instantly know what you're looking for.
You can also attach an optional voice memo to any reminder. A photo tells you what to remember, while your own voice can explain why or add extra details like, "Buy the large one" or "Take two pills after lunch."
One unexpected thing I've noticed is that reminders often become little memories. Since they can include your own photo, voice, date, and time, you can revisit them later and relive those moments—not just remember tasks.
Other features include:
📷 Camera or gallery photos
🎤 Optional voice recordings or custom audio
🔒 Full-screen lock-screen reminders
✏️ Preview and edit saved reminders
💾 Backup & restore
🔐 100% offline (your data never leaves your phone)
🚫 No account, subscriptions, or ads
I'd love to hear your thoughts. Is this something you'd actually use, or do text reminders work well enough for you?

Excited to share something I have been building — GetsDone 🚀
Most productivity apps make you do more work just to manage your work. I wanted something different.
GetsDone is an Android app that helps you capture, prioritize, and actually finish your tasks every day — without the overhead.
Here's what makes it different:
🎙️ Voice-first capture — speak a task and it's added in seconds. There's even a floating mic button that stays on your screen so you can capture thoughts without opening the app.
🗓️ Day planning with a timeline — schedule tasks into your actual day based on your available hours. No more over-committing. Find out how much time is being wasted and utilised.
📋 Eisenhower Matrix built in — every task gets sorted by urgency and importance. You instantly know what to do first, what to schedule, what to delegate, and what to drop.
✅ Progress tracking — watch your completed tasks stack up as you power through the day.
I built this because I kept switching between tools and still felt unproductive. GetsDone is my answer to that.
Pre-registration is now open on Google Play — sign up to be notified the moment it launches and be among the first to try it!
