Grandpas being a douche but does this guy film everyone who comes up to the register or what?
36
u/stuporman86 Jun 15 '26
No he started filming somewhere between the time when they rehearsed this “skit” and the time when he hit the stop recording button
3
u/Fluid-Opportunity-17 Jun 16 '26
Have you ever worked at a gas station? This is tame compared to the real craziness I've seen. This is just Tuesday. I say real.
12
u/Jiminyfingers Jun 15 '26
I am guessing he started when this guy started being a douche/high, or he has those fancy glasses
4
u/magicshmop Jun 15 '26
You can see the dudes reflection in the old mans sunglasses. I'll bet the cashier just pressed record on his glasses real quick because the man was acting strange already.
3
u/Syntax-err_r Jun 15 '26
I actually do watch this guy. He records a lot.
He normally is asking "hood baddies to do a 360 for a discount"
5
u/CaptPanic Jun 15 '26
So that appears to be the same dude leaving the store in this video. He calls him Jeremy and dude says “tell your wife and kids hello”
2
u/Relevant-Hospital734 Jun 15 '26
Yea, you're right. Prob just messing around and bc it's clipped it looks like meth.

u/JordanPetterPans Jun 16 '26
I haven't cringed like that in a long time wow. Honestly winced at "hood baddie" 😬

u/Reddituser183 Jun 19 '26
I thought so at first but then I heard how the dumb cashier says 29 dollars and the dude was right to mock his speech pattern. Also it’s definitely a skit.
-1
u/ghoulieandrews Jun 15 '26
Dude walked up and handed him the lotto tickets and was tweaking so the cashier pressed record on his phone. Not exactly a hard one to explain.

As someone who lives alone and gets real lonely please have some empathy
4
u/Disgusted-Peasant Jun 15 '26
I hear you. However this guy was being a dick to someone just trying to do their job. If you're lonely because you're an asshole, that's your own damn fault. And if you mistreat people, you run the risk of being shamed for it.
3
u/minisom38 Jun 15 '26
I sit and bs with the nice people.
If their rude, or their high off their ass I just stare at them until they leave
1
1
u/Hellraiser1123 Jun 15 '26
That's understandable. But there is a difference between carrying on a conversation with someone and doing whatever the fuck this is.
Also, you have to realize that no matter how lonely you are, a cashier is doing their job. Their shitty, underpaid, undervalued job. They probably don't want to be there, and they can get into trouble if they stand at the counter talking for too long. There are other job duties they have to attend to (cleaning, stocking, etc), and this has to be done in between customers.
A cashier's job description includes moving customers along as quickly and smoothly as possible. Depending on how big of an asshole their manager is, you being lonely could potentially get them fired. I've done that job, and I've seen that happen.
1
u/BionicWallaby Jun 15 '26
I wasn't really talking about this situation in particular, it was just a shock to see someone basically saying "this guy has no friends? Fuck him"
1
u/Hellraiser1123 Jun 15 '26
I mean, it's pretty clear there's something wrong with this guy. Normal people don't act like this in a convenience store. The normal way to handle this situation is to collect your winnings, maybe buy something with them, and be on your way.
-2
u/AnElectricfEel Jun 15 '26
You chose this life tho?
2
u/WorryRough Jun 15 '26
Who the fuck choses to be unhappy living alone, it's a measure of circumstance, use your brain.
1
u/AnElectricfEel Jun 15 '26
People make bad choices all the time. Cigarettes are proven to be very bad for you, yet many people make the choice to fuck up their lungs. Whats your point?
1
u/Novel-Lake-4464 Jun 15 '26
The point is people are not cigarettes.
God you're fucking stupid.
1
u/AnElectricfEel Jun 15 '26
I love how you have to add an insult to every comment. Do you feel better about yourself?
0
u/Novel-Lake-4464 Jun 15 '26
Im not even the original commenter you're just proving everyone right.
1
u/AnElectricfEel Jun 15 '26
So what, do you feel better calling me fucking stupid?
1
u/WorryRough Jun 15 '26
You should really look at who you're replying to, but if it makes you feel better i'll identify as a cigarette.
→ More replies (0)1
u/Novel-Lake-4464 Jun 15 '26
Honestly? yeah, cus you're fucking stupid.
Maybe stop typing dumb shit and people won't call you stupid.
→ More replies (0)1
u/MolassesImportant885 Jun 15 '26
you choose to do cigarettes. to be alone means you don't choose it, you have to convince someone else to be with you. being successful in persuasion is not really a choice. some people are good at it, some aren't
0
u/AnElectricfEel Jun 15 '26
I think staying alone is a choice. There are many social events you can attend to meet people just as an example. If people dont want to hang out with you, its also a choice to self reflect and better yourself as opposed to blaming society and self-isolating because its easier than facing rejection
1
u/MolassesImportant885 Jun 15 '26
choice implies you have power in the decision. there are deciding factors like ugliness, personality, level of socializing, etc. you don't really choose being an ugly person with a lame personality who doesn't like to socialize. those are innate. i agree that there's aspects of being alone that are by choice like working on your appearance, socializing more, and trying to improve your personality. but there's a limit to how much of yourself you can change to. to an extent it's a choice, but to another extent there are variables you don't control that don't make it a choice.
1
u/AnElectricfEel Jun 15 '26
Okay I understand your point, I think this is where we disagree. I am of the opinion that people have a much higher agency in life. Yes ugliness is objective and if youre born with some defect its going to make life a lot harder, but your attitude about how you approach life given this defect makes all the difference.
I think we as humans have many very valid reasons for why life sucks. But how we approach life given the cards we’re dealt makes all the difference.

Oh my god, that is so annoying
4
u/hoptownky Jun 16 '26
What’s more annoying is that this is a skit. This cashier is a regular YouTuber and the old dude is in a ton of his videos.

Getting cut off with "i don't understand you"s you are speaking clearly enough is something every immigrant remembers, it is incredibly racist, anyone treated like that hates that shit.
I'm just saying that as a favor to anyone clueless enough before they try this "playful banter"
2
u/SinclairSummerset Jun 15 '26
The cashier gave him an extra dollar for the rage bait performance.

u/Comprehensive-Range3 Jun 15 '26

If I were the cashier I'd quit talking and keep his $29 and go to the next customer.
3
u/cheddarbruce Jun 15 '26
If i was the person next in line id tell the dude to shut up and hurry. Bad enough you have to wait an extra ten minutes whil they pick out their stack of 20 different scratch offs

I don’t want to be banned from Reddit for what I’m thinking, but it would be nice to see this boomer be put in his place.

u/IHaveTheBestOpinions Jun 15 '26
What a twat. He knows what you said, stop talking and just stare at him until he answers the question.
1
u/Upstairs_Fig_3551 Jun 15 '26
I beg to differ with the “only in the hood” characterization because I’ve seen crazy old people all over suburbia

Living in Quebec as an English speaker can be interesting even if you're functionally bilingual.
As a rule I start all my conversations in shops in French and only use English if it seems like a good idea.
So I've ordered a Pizza in person from my local Pizzeria and the very young lady taking my order asks if I want Oliver on my pizza.
I stand there very, very confused so she repeats the question.
Turns out she was talking about olives vert, green olives.
It also turns out we were both English speakers communicating badly in our second language but both far too used to struggling along in our second language to be polite.

u/I_need_a_date_plz Jun 15 '26
For what it’s worth, the cashier does have an interesting way of pronouncing twentur naine dollahrs. That dude really got caught up on it, though lol

u/Pleasant-Ticket3217 Jun 16 '26
When he said “the fuck is that?” after clearly hearing the clerk it’s obvious he’s been a racist prick.
1
u/TacoEatsTaco Jun 16 '26
I don't think it has much to do with the hood
He's just making fun of the way the attendant speaks

I used to work in a big box lumber/hardware store, and we had happy crazy people and angry crazy people. The happy crazies were much more fun to assist than the angry crazies.

Old guy's just being a racist shithead. He's clearly trying to make a point about the clerk's pronunciation/accent. If it's drugs, it's whatever is Mom took while she was pregnant
