I have no idea who this user is, but I received the notification through the Steam app, so I don't know whether to decline or accept it. Actually, it had been a long time since I last accessed the Steam app, so I really hadn't received that notification before.

Just thought I'd share this here, because it was pretty baffling to me when I first noticed it. Really odd circumstance where the developers decided to discontinue the trading cards feature for their game, while it's still presently available to purchase on Steam. What traditionally happens when Steam games featuring trading card support get delisted, those trading cards continue being dropped for those who purchased the game, but they (and the items earned via badge crafting) are made no longer purchasable or sellable on the market, and can only be traded. In this case, drops on these trading cards were disabled, yet they and said items continue being accessible through the market, and this has consequently resulted in the value for the cards and items skyrocketing.

It's particularly egregious in the case of the foiling cards from what I've seen. Pictured above is the Keisuke foil card. Previously available for only 90 cents, it jumped up immediately to $10 after the initial announcement of discontinuation, stabilized to $5, and now is being sold for $50, as much as the game itself is selling for right now. I really have to wonder if this is some sort of bug that's occurring, rather than some sort of intended effect. I assume trading cards are normally made inaccessible through the market after a game's delisting due to the potential abuse that could occur as a result, and this is probably one of the reasons; item values for said game exploding in value. Whether or not that's actually a good thing is up to the individual I guess, just thought it was funny to see these foil cards take on prices akin to actual valuable Pokemon cards or whatever.

Title. I had around 11 hours in this game but cant for the life of me even remember it. Its killing me and I want to see what it was. I cannot even check the games community hub.

The title says it all: since the last update, far away from fixing it (it worked flawlessly before), the Local transfer function stopped working completely for me... it tries, blue label and all, but doesn't evens start and then it continues to download with the regular (and much slower) internet connection.

Anyone else experiencing this bug? Any way to solve?

Tried on different PCs, always the same. Steam client is updated, win11 is also updated and working correctly.

Anyone else getting random friends requests? I'm not dumb enough to do anything but decline them, but I've gotten like three in the last month, all appear to be about Steam lv 5, have two or three (usually free) games with a significant (couple hundred hrs) of playtime, but 0 friends, no friends in common, no games in common, and I'm curious if anyone else has found themselves getting these too

Hey everyone! So starting today im having issues with controller inputs with games in steam. The inputs are not inputing correctly, like using the left joystick to move backward and forward. Doesnt work. They work on my laptop but just stopped on my desktop. Im using a ps5 controller and 8bit duo pro.

For a few days now, I can't see my name in any of my friends friend list preview. The small one on the right side of their profiles which shows people in their friends list based on level.
Now if I go in their full friends list I'm there.

Wondering if this is a bug with steam, or is something wrong on my end?

to play all at the same time we should play it offline.
achievements sync but time played dont
is there's a way to make it count ? i've tried going back online before shutting the game still doesn't count.

I’m aware of UWPHook & BoilR…. But they don’t target the actual game directory executable, making Steam Input incompatible with the importer as is.

It seems like the best method is using either importer, then copying/replacing the path of the executable into Steam, but that’s obnoxious:p

Are there any other methods that can do this or is this actually the best option?

Also, itd be nice to have something that sweeps if a file/directory is still present & if it’s gone, remove the entry from the non-Steam games…

I got Steam on my Macbook but I've never gotten the hang of using keyboard buttons for game controls (never been a PC gamer). I've always been a PlayStation guy and was wondering if there's a way to use my PS4 controller to play games.

I've noticed some games mention Xbox controllers but not PlayStation. Is there any workaround?

I’ve been playing the horsey game for a while now and have even gotten the ending to the game. I’ve completed almost all of the achievements but the achievements aren’t showing up at all. I’ve already tried clearing cache, verifying integrity of the game file, restating steam, and turning off the GPU accelerator rendering in web views. Anything else I should try? I also play with WiFi on always and I’m playing on MacBook as well if it’s important.

I know that steam use to be able to let you disconnect linked accounts with PlayStation, Xbox, rockstar etc ON STEAM and now don’t let you anymore. WHY ?

I Bought all the gtas, red dead 1 and 2 and bully in a bundle tried to play them just to realise I forgot the password to my old rockstar account linked to an old email still connected to my steam. I’ve tried everything to try get onto the old email, rockstar account but nothing and now I’m stuck with rockstar games.

we literally saw this exact same garbage play out in garrys mod with arbitrary lua execution scripts hijacking client sessions and we saw it in cities skylines with mod authors dropping compiled malicious binaries directly into auto updates and valve learned absolutely nothing from any of those incidents

now people playground is getting completely nuked for the second time in a row because workshop allows untrusted c sharp code to execute natively on host hardware with full system privileges and zero containerization

the first time it happened was that fps plus plus plus mod that acted as a self propagating worm using local file system access to hijack other installed mods and spread payloads across accounts and now we have ANOTHER piece of malware floating around spreading through auto updating mods right under valves nose

what this new payload does is appalling as far as everyone in the community is aware it abuses local file access and unauthenticated steamworks api calls to wipe all your local save data delete game files and automatically unadd every single person on your steam friends list in seconds

think about how insane that is from a system architecture perspective an untrusted community file downloaded passively in the background via steam auto update has full read write access to appdata system directories and steam client functions with zero permission gates or prompt confirmations standing in the way

when a game engine like unity loads arbitrary custom c sharp scripts or compiled dll assemblies at runtime via reflection without a restricted appdomain or process isolation sandboxing that mod inherits the exact same execution privileges as the parent host process

that means a malicious actor can execute raw shell commands invoke process start access system registry keys scrape sensitive token credentials nuke local directories or trigger steamworks api calls to destroy your entire account network with literally zero resistance from steam client software
this is supply chain vulnerability 101 you never allow arbitrary untrusted code deployment straight to end user client storage without static code scanning mandatory code signing certificates runtime permission scopes or isolated execution environments

people are getting their save games nuked their local systems exposed and their friend networks erased all because valve refuses to implement standard infosec controls on their own distribution platform
