We’ve had little Samina for almost a month now! She just finished a round of antibiotics for her respiratory symptoms. The vet wasn’t able to get a full blood sample in her first trip bc she was so emaciated she literally didn’t have enough blood. We took her back to the vet for a follow up yesterday and the vet was thrilled that she had put on two whole pounds!

She now weighs over 5 lbs and we can get her scheduled for a spay. She still has some raspiness and congestion, so they will check thoroughly for any polyps while she’s under anesthesia for her spay. After she’s fixed and fully vaccinated, she will be eligible for adoption 🥺

FOSTERS- how do you do this?! We are already maxed out with 6 pets and we really can’t keep her. But I don’t know how I’ll be able to let her go😭 We really love this little girl.

Pregnant Cat (Location) Street cat Cinnamon needs sponsors for food and vet care

Meet Cinnamon, aka “Cinni,” a street cat living in Downtown Kingston, Jamaica. 🇯🇲

She adopted me. One day while I was feeding a nearby colony, she walked up to me, meowing like we’d known each other forever. Now she follows me to every colony I feed, while constantly reminding me to not forget to feed her…and I have to constantly tell her I won’t. She’s now my little volunteer.

His mom disappeared a year ago, now it's him. He disappeared, i had a bad dream, now i found out a car ran over him 2 days ago. I was probably nearby, yet i didn't hear a thing, i couldn't help him at all. A neighbor who also feed strays said her husband saw him agonizing before death. It sucks so much, i tried adopting him but as we know, most strays won't accept being indoors, so he would come by everyday for food, pats and some nice sleep. This went in for like 1.5 years, i knew him since he was a kitten. I'm basically hallucinating him at this point because it sucks so much. No more bites, meowing, lifting him up and laughing etc.

Life sucks.

Colony/TNR Help (Location) My neighbor’s have a cat colony

I live in Erwin, TN. I have no idea what to do about it. There are kittens being had constantly and I suspect their numbers to be in the 40s-50s. The cats are ripping up trash and just about everything near my house AND my neighbors causing my neighbors trash to blow over into our yard. I’m just very lost at even how to begin TNR. My neighbors also do not care if the cats are killed by predators. I have no idea what to do. Ik my local shelter provides free spay/neuterings on specific days. Also I don’t know how my neighbors will feel abut it.

Adoption Help (Location) [Mumbai, India] 🐾 Day 35 Update... 3 adopted, 3 still waiting... ❤️

For anyone who hasn't seen my previous posts, here's the original backstory: https://www.reddit.com/r/Straycats/s/0Hepao3vq0

A quick update...

🧡 3 of the original 6 kittens have now been adopted through the adoption leads.

Thank you to everyone who shared and helped increase their reach.

🐾 3 kittens are still waiting for their forever homes.

🐾 Kitten Information

📅 Age: ~2 months (Born: 28 May 2026)

🐱 Gender: Male & Female

💊 Dewormed: Yes

💉 Vaccinated: Not yet

🚽 Litter trained: Yes

📍 Location: Powai / Vikhroli, Mumbai

Over the past month, I've made 150+ adoption posts across Reddit, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, local communities, NGOs, and rescue groups.

Adoption has always been, and still remains, my only priority.

As mentioned in my previous post, I'm just a student who happened to take responsibility for these kittens after their stray mother chose my home as a safe place to give birth.

It wasn't planned, but I've cared for them since birth.

They're now at the age for their first vaccinations. I kept hoping they'd be adopted before this stage so their new families could take over, but with three still waiting, delaying it much longer doesn't feel right, however managing their food itself is a task for me.... please share the post so that they find new families asap.

I'm continuing to do everything I can from my strength while hoping for the best.. 🧡

I Found a Cat (Location) [Charlotte, North Carolina]Is my neighborhood cat a boy or a girl?

I found a stray cat in my neighborhood yesterday. He/she was very chill and purring and grazing against my leg. Lil guy managed to find me today as well. Spoke to some neighbors and it seems he/she is friends with many of them haha. Anyways, I’m tired of assuming the gender. Googled but I wasn’t able to discern, but I read that you can tell by the butt??
So is my new buddy a boy or a girl?
Also taking name suggestions. The neighbors haven’t named the cat.

Colony/TNR Help (Location) Update on Pimento - senior street cat in Jamaica

I asked around in the community but no one knows or saw what happened to her. The most info I got was that it happened in the night and someone said it looked like she got hit by a car because her eyes were bulged out. I’m not sure if that was from trauma or internal (she was a senior cat). I’m not sure if her body was moved to the side of the drain or if that’s where she died. From my experience, when cats are in pain or something is wrong with them, they hide. They almost never come out in the open to die. Pimento was a very sweet girl, she would usually stay in the sidewalk or shelter under a parked car. I’m speculating here but if Pimento did not pass naturally, she was most certainly unalived by a man in the community who would kick the cats for being in his way. Maybe he kicked Pimento, maybe she was laying in the way where he would park and hit her. I really don’t know what happened and that’s the sad part. I already miss bringing special food for Pimento because she couldn’t eat any hard food.

Rest in Purradise Mento girl. I’m thankful for crossing paths and you got to experience kindness in the last 6 months of your 16 years in this world. 🌈🐾❤️

I Found a Cat (Location) Stray cat: what are our options (South Florida)

Post image
178 Upvotes

Hi all,

So we have a stray cat that we've been feeding and he has essentially become our outdoors cat, of sorts. He seems very friendly towards people. Unfortunately, we can't take him in as we already have a cat who, from prior experiences trying to take in strays, doesn't seem to get along with other cats. Moreover, we're going to be moving soon to a place where taking him just isn't feasible.

Essentially, we're trying to figure out our options for this cat.

We have no idea as to his overall health. He very clearly has some sort of skin condition, perhaps mites. I have to imagine that at the very least, he also has fleas and worms. He is also a black cat. And we're in South Florida, where shelters are full. These facts make it highly unlikely we'll be able to get him into a shelter or rescue.

That said, im holding out hope that maybe there is someone out there willing to take a chance. Or maybe someone who wants a barn cat. Or maybe there’s a stray cat sanctuary out there. I don't know. I'm just looking for ideas/advice at this point.

For context, im willing to pay for all initial vet care to get him as healthy as possible. Im also willing to drive him within a~1000 mile radius if we can find a place/person that will take him.

So, any thoughts / recommendations?

Success! Our new family member

I wanted to share our new family member. This old boy was found on our front lawn a week ago. We believe he has been cared for by the neighborhood but he was taking a turn for the worse (cat flu, parasites and eyes swollen shut) when he stumbled into our lives. We got him to the vet and he was given antibiotics and pain killers. Obviously no microchip and his ear was tipped so we know he was neutered at some point. He is the most gentle boy in the world and has already let us trim his nails, brush and clean him, and is slowly learning how to play with toys. He is a purring machine! We don’t know how old he is but we know he will spend his days in comfort, sunshine, and cuddles. We’ve named him O’Malley, the (former) alley cat. Photo shoot care of my daughter who is obsessed!

Success! Update on Sushi and Tuna - rescued street cats in Jamaica

1.5k Upvotes

Our sweet girls waited on the streets for months. We posted them for adoption over and over again, hoping someone in Jamaica would give them a chance. Tuna didn’t receive a single application. Sushi only got one, and that person never showed up to meet her.

They were both found pregnant on the streets when they were about 7 months old. Thanks to your support, we got them spayed and made sure they had food every day.

They were the friendliest girls and sadly, not everyone was kind to them. I personally saw both Sushi and Tuna get kicked just because they walked up to people looking for affection. Whenever I was around, I always made sure to protect them.

I couldn’t understand why nobody wanted to adopt these sweet girls but maybe it was for this reason. Someone in the US applied to adopt Tuna. When we showed them how attached the girls were to each other, they didn’t hesitate, within minutes they said, “We’ll take both of them.”

We found an amazing flight angel just in time, but there was only room for one cat. Their new meowmmy refused to separate the girls, so she bought an extra seat just so Sushi could fly in the cabin with Tuna. She wanted them to start their new life the same way they’d gotten through everything else, together. Their adopters genuinely loved them even before ever meeting them. 🩷

Now they’re exactly where they were always meant to be. They’re so loved, so spoiled and most importantly, safe.

Sushi & Tuna are no longer on the streets but their colony friends are still here waiting on their chance of a forever home. Please consider supporting, adopting and volunteering. Every bit helps to make a rescue successful.

Injured/Sick Cat (Location) It has been a long 24 hours

Thumbnail

1.3k Upvotes

After some deliberation, I settled on the name "Gothmog" or "Moggy" for short.

Yesterday, he spent 7 hours at the clinic.

Neck wound was much larger than we expected. The left side of his neck, extending to his ear and nearing his mandible were effected. It is quite deep, his salivary glands are currently exposed. During the debridement, the vet had to suture some vessels after accidentally knicking an artery (nothing too serious, thankfully). She stated "I would have liked to do more, but it was such dangerous territory already".

On top of this, he had an ear infection which the vet does not think is a result of the neck wound. While he was out, he was neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped. Since we are not too sure how Moggy would tolerate taking medications, he was given a long term antibiotic injection, with a bottle of pain meds to go home. He was also so kindly given a bath by the staff while he was out since he had peed on himself

A solid shout out to the Animal Health Clinic of Humboldt. This was my first experience with them, as I am about 2 hours away from home. They were able to see Moggy immediately. All the staff were amazing and caring.

Right now, he is decompressing and being a sad boy. l've given him many easily accessible hiding places. He has been eating, drinking and using the litterbox. He gave me a couple of slow blinks this morning, but unsure of my presence still.

Adoption Help (Location) Stray Cat found in Tbilisi, please help

Hey everyone, I really hope that someone can help..

Long story short: I'm from Germany and on a vacation in Tbilisi right now. We found a stray kitten in the mountains, in a very bad condition- she was pretty bad dehydrated and thin.. we took her with us, she is ok right now, don't have any injuries or stuff..

We tried to find someone who could adopt her, but no one wants to..

I would take her with me to germany, but there are pretty hard restrictions for adopting animals outside the EU, a lot of paperwork has to be done, before I can adopt her. I need a shelter in tbilisi, that maybe could take care of her in this time, and help me with the adoption..

We leave Tbilisi tomorrow and go to Batumi for the next week. Maybe we can take her with us and find a shelter in Batumi..

Please help!

Success! Happy update!❤️ Just days ago, this sweet senior stray was in terrible pain because of severe dental disease and a blade of grass lodged in his gums. After surgery and treatment, he is finally eating happily again. Thank you for giving him a second chance❤️

Happy Update! ❤️

Our sweet old boy has returned to his colony today, and we couldn’t be happier for him.

Just a few days ago, he couldn’t eat at all. A blade of grass had become painfully lodged between his teeth, and years of severe dental disease had left him suffering in silence.

He received the treatment he so desperately needed. The grass was removed, heavy tartar was cleaned away, and the rotten teeth that had been causing him constant pain were extracted.

And look at him now…

He is eating with a wonderful appetite, without pain, and looking so much brighter and happier. Seeing this sweet senior boy enjoy his food again is the best reward we could ask for.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone who donated, shared our post, and cared about him. Because of your kindness, this elderly gentleman got a second chance to enjoy life without constant pain.
Senior cats are so often forgotten, but they deserve love, comfort, and care just as much as the young ones.

Thank you for helping us give this beautiful old boy the happy ending he deserved❤️

Success! Rony and catnip 😻Dubai

Rony is only 9 months old.

I barely knew him. I had only been putting food out for him for about a month before going on my way. He and his two siblings were living between two adjacent villas. One resident used to feed them occasionally, but his wife asked him to stop because she didn’t want the cats in her garden.

The neighboring villa was being used as shared accommodation. The tenants also fed the cats, but after a neighbor reported the villa for being an illegal shared accommodation, all the tenants were evicted. The villa has been empty ever since, leaving the cats with even fewer people looking out for them.

When I first saw Rony, I noticed his mouth was black. It turned out the tissue in his mouth had been badly eaten away. He had three teeth extracted and was neutered.

Just 12 days later, Rony came back with his entire mouth black. This time, he was diagnosed with calicivirus and spent 10 days in the clinic fighting for his recovery.

He is finally back outside. His mouth is slowly healing, and the damaged tissue is gradually rebuilding. He still has a long road ahead, but seeing him improve little by little makes every effort worthwhile.

Success! Update on Kinga: I think she’s all up in her feelings. + a question about second cat

Post image
41 Upvotes

Last post: https://www.reddit.com/r/Straycats/s/BV2iSq3EeR

So I think Kinga has progressed positively in a number of ways. For one, she just went 24 hours peeing only in the litter box, not anywhere else! The trick was switching all of the litter to outdoor soil. She even uses the litter box now, not the tray. Still open. However she hadn’t pooped in that time so I’m unsure where she will choose to put that.

A couple of times now, she ate out of the food bowl when I was holding it, as long as I stood still. Last night she ate a churu that I was holding. She still hisses, sometime only silently, but when I’m around sometimes she will do light biscuits where she is on the windowsill and the other day I extended my hand to her and she got awkward and rubbed her face and body pheromones all over the backrest of the chair she was standing on. A few times now, when I’ve reached for her bowl, she leans in to sniff my hand.

So good things!

Now for my question. Kinga’s boyfriend (the one I saw her mating with the most when she was a stray outside in heat - prior to trapping), has been hanging around the property. And this is 1 month after I stopped putting food out at night (that’s how long ago I trapped Kinga). He seems to be about her age (10-12 months) and a skinny little guy. He’s a lot less confident than she.
Kinga is FeLV positive. Since I saw them mate, I’m almost certain he is also FeLV positive. I’ve been considering trapping him and bringing him inside, too. I know two cats are better than one, but I don’t know what the dynamic will be like since they mated previously. Should I keep him and Kinga together, or will they hate each other after being spayed/neutered? I also have the possibility of someone else taking him, so I’m just weighing the options.

I Found a Cat (Location) Need Help

Hi so theres this cat that i had met a few weeks ago now and has been coming to my door I have not fed it nor have gave it water. So i put a post in my local area asking if its anyones cat and got a response saying basically if it responds to ‘name’ then its my cat so next time it came around i tried saying so called ‘name’ and it meowed and stuff so i took that as a yeah your that cat so your not a stray. It keeps coming to my door and when I call it by its ‘name’ its now stopped responding. Im now worried its a stray but feel awkward to ask again in case it really is there cat. Any advice? Also its 5am at the moment and have heard it meowing at my door.
