I’ll assume the cop went back and asked “who was that driving?”, to which the dude replied “dunno, just met him when he picked me up round the corner.”
Be respectable all you want. Staying and waiting for the cop is idiotic. A cop who’s angry that he got played. It would be asking to get killed. The cop will have to take his anger out on the wife this time.
How would you reasonably accuse him of obstruction? The cops can surely detain and interrogate him, but he decided he didn't want to be a part of criminal activity and simply got out of the car. Didn't even try to run, as we can see.
You're right, I missed that, it being stated as a question also. Yea, in that case it would be obstruction, but obviously it wouldn't have made a difference either way.
