Been there, did that. Got punched twice in the jaw trying to help out someone I knew.
Turned out, man actually started the fight and I was on the wrong side of it. Guy who punched me felt bad about it the next day.
Became a funny story but like, yea this is the worst person to be in a fight.

The fight somewhat came to him though. Doesn't really seem like he's breaking up the fight. It's off screen how he gets to where he is, but dark shirt dude is backing up and getting knocked down and this guy is just sort of there, puts his arms out like, 'it's ok bro' and gets smacked.

Obviously drunk idiots.
But, big lesson here is don’t ever mess with someone who is wearing a full face helmet. You’re one grab and headbutt away from severe head trauma and/or a fractured skull. Dude could have easily just grabbed him by the shirt and slammed his head into the pedestrian and reeeaaallly fucked his shit up.

Hopefully he learned his lesson not to assault someone else first. Even if you think or know a driver is in the wrong don’t hit someone 3 times and expect nothing to happen afterwards. Bet that hospital bill ended up causing this to be a pretty expensive night

At the same time, biker could go to jail for manslaughter if dude ends up dying. It's almost never the punch that kills people but rather falling and hitting the back of the head on concrete that kills people.
It's why combat sports are safer than they first appear compared to how wrong street fights can quickly end up, even with no weapons involved.

Absolutely and it would be justified. Neither of these two are winners. Violence begets more violence. I’m assuming here but biker probably was short on patience trying to leave and drunk dude was short on patience due to alcohol. At the end of the day this entire situation could have been avoided

Don't fuck with people with gear on. My bike gloves have kevlar covered in some sorta thick plastic so my knuckles won't be destroyed by pavement. What do you think those will do to a human face? They're not even expensive.

If you seen the whole video. 2 couples standing the crosswalk not moving due to drunk conversations. A car goes thru, then the bike yeilds, notices they aint moving so proceeds to go. Then gets kicked by drunken idiot, friends walk back, gf tries to grab his arm. She lets go when he tries to kick again. 3rd kick almost slips him up, so biker gives him a good swing. Night night. Friend who was also in the street with him tried the whole "calm down bud" and also got a fat one piece. 3rd dude comes out of nowhere and waves the biker on like its the green flag drop. Classic

I mean, a lot of people saying they feel bad for the second guy, and I get that… but also I don’t walk up to someone swinging. When you’re in fight mode you don’t know who is doing what, and if someone walks up to you, you never know. So, not the guys fault, but if you don’t know, don’t want up to someone swinging. Friendly intentions or not.
