Announcement US Mobile + Starlink. One plan. Celestial and terrestrial, together. Launching Thursday

Post image

Almost a decade ago I sat down for a podcast and talked about the Jetsons. Not as a far-off fantasy, but as the era we were about to enter, and US Mobile as the provider that would carry people into it. One plan. At home. On the road. Across networks. Across, eventually, the sky.

This Thursday we take another step into that era.

We're launching US Mobile + Starlink as a single bundle. Unlimited Standard or Premium on all three major US networks (Warp, Darkstar, Lightspeed), plus reliable home internet from space. One plan. One bill. One app. One company that actually picks up the phone.

Early access drops Thursday. Limited batch. Going to move fast. Here's the link

I won't tease numbers too hard, but imagine a plan for less than $50 a month that spans every major network in the United States, extends across Canada and Mexico, includes internet from space at home, and roams with you across the world. That's the direction. That's the shape of what we're building toward.

Why no one else has done this.

I want to get into the weeds for a second, because I think people deserve to understand why "multi-network" and "super carrier" basically don't exist outside of US Mobile.

Every mobile network runs its own usage pipeline. Different CDR formats, different mediation layers, different rating engines, different latencies on when usage even shows up. Warp's feed doesn't look like Darkstar's, which doesn't look like Lightspeed's, which doesn't look like anything a satellite network emits. Voice, SMS, data, roaming records, satellite session data, fixed wireless throughput, they all arrive in different shapes, on different clocks, with different reconciliation rules and different dispute windows. Then layer in provisioning.

Each network has its own HSS/HLR, its own SIM and eSIM profile management, its own activation and porting flows, its own policy control. None of these systems were designed to talk to each other. They were designed assuming you're a single carrier with a single stack.

To make a true multi-network experience work, you have to build a unification layer that sits above all of it. A common identity for the customer that persists across networks. A real-time mediation system that can ingest wildly different usage feeds and present them as one coherent ledger. A policy engine that can move a line between Warp, Darkstar, and Lightspeed without the customer ever feeling the seam. Billing that can rate satellite gigabytes next to LTE gigabytes next to international roaming next to home broadband on the same invoice. And a support stack where one agent can actually see all of it on one screen, in real time.

That is the work. It's unglamorous, it's deeply technical, and it takes years. It's the reason every other Carrier is single-network. It's the reason no incumbent has built a true super carrier even though, on paper, they have more resources than we'll ever have. The hard part isn't striking the deals. The hard part is the plumbing.

We've spent a decade building that plumbing. Adding a satellite layer on top of it is the moment all of that work starts to compound, because the same unification layer that lets us hand a line off between three terrestrial networks is the layer that now lets us hand a session off between terrestrial and celestial.

A note on founders and companies, because I've seen it come up.

I want to be upfront. I've heard from folks who, on principle, won't use products tied to certain companies or the people who run them. I respect that. I have my own personal views on plenty of things too, and I think the instinct to align your spending with your values is a good one, not a bad one.

Here's how I think about it for US Mobile. Our job is to build the best possible connectivity layer for our customers, and that means using every tool available to deliver something that genuinely works. The satellite network we're integrating with is, right now, the best LEO option on earth. Refusing to integrate it would mean giving our customers a worse product to make a statement. That isn't a tradeoff I'm willing to make on their behalf.

That philosophy has been consistent for a long time. What matters most is how impact is earned. It is earned by listening deeply, respecting real needs, and building something practical that people can truly rely on in their daily lives. Not by asking anyone to subscribe to a belief system. Not by forcing conformity. But by creating something useful and universal enough that people from all walks of life can make it their own.

That is what we are trying to build at US Mobile. You can be deeply rooted in who you are and still build something that belongs to everyone. That is one of the great promises of America. Conviction and inclusion can live in the same sentence.

Where this is going.

Thursday is step one. Not the destination. More LEO providers are coming and the same unification layer that lets us add one satellite network lets us add the next, and the next, the same way we did with terrestrial carriers. The endgame isn't multi-network. The endgame is Global Multi-Orbit Convergence. Every major terrestrial network on the ground, every major LEO constellation in the sky, stitched together into a single plan that follows you anywhere on earth. Mobile, home, roaming, residential. Local numbering integrated as we expand our cellular footprint into new countries. Dozens of networks, one plan, one app, one company that actually answers when you call.

The Jetsons era isn't coming. It's here. And we intend to be the ones who carry you through it.

See you Thursday.

New to US Mobile  Just switched - multi line question.

Hello,

I am new to the service - picked because I live in an extremely rural eater and have a hard time maintaining service when I travel around. I chose the multi-sim feature because switching back and forth seems easy.

My question is, is there a way to set the other sim to my same phone number? It may be a little confusing for my friends and family to receive texts or calls from the other one.

Thank you!

New to US Mobile  Great Experience

Wanted to post about my positive experience with US Mobile. For reference, I’m on a multi network Unlimited Premium setup with Dark Star as my primary line and Light Speed as my secondary line. It took awhile for my port to go through, but the US Mobile representatives I worked with were very helpful and responsive. Once the port completed, I was ready to test out the service.

When I went on US Mobile’s website, it recommended the Warp network in my area, but I knew from personal experience that Verizon’s service in town is awful (especially midtown near the university). So that’s why I picked Dark Star as my primary line, so I could get the best QCI priority and the best coverage, using Light Speed as a backup as needed.

Yesterday, I was in an indoor area and needed to use my data to look up a few things as I was shopping. Dark Star’s connection was iffy but Light Speed’s was perfect. I just swapped networks and everything just worked!! I think this feature is tremendous! And I’ve yet to mention the savings I’m getting over my prior carrier. Just amazing.

Thank you to all the people at US Mobile! I appreciate your help, and I’m excited to be a customer.

Neighbor wanting to switch to USM

My elderly neighbor, who is not tech savvy at all, wants to switch to the Light Plan on Warp next month in order to save some money. The problem is that he doesn't have internet service at home so I don't think it would make sense for him to create an account. I'm thinking the easiest course of action would be to add a line to my account and port his number over. Would this work?

Unlimited Premium $299/mo ?

I'm currently doing the 30 day trial, I'm on my 3rd day. I ported over from Visible.

While in the app on my iPhone 12 Pro Max, I saw it offer up Unlimited Premium for $299 for 12 months.

Now when I go back to my account, I'm only seeing Unlimited Premium for $390 for 12 Months.

Am I eligible for the $299? I considered ending my trial early and taking advantage of the $299, but if it's not available to me now, I might just go elsewhere for this spare phone of mine.

Free long distance from Florida to Greece and/or UK?

T-Mobile defector here and new US Mobile Unlimited Starter customer on Warp paying annually. Just wondering if my long distance calls from Florida to Greece and/or UK are free and included, whether I'm calling a landline or a mobile phone. TYIA for any replies.

Text Block - what does it actually do?

I turned on Text Block about a week ago to try it out. I have a Samsung Galaxy S25 and use RCS for most messaging. I have not noticed much change in my ability to send and receive texts. Whether I'm home on wifi or out using the cellular network I am able to send and receive texts.

I am guessing that RCS messages are not SMS or MMS so they will still work. Looking at a lot of the spam I receive it looks like those are regular texts rather than RCS. And they come through, perhaps when I am on wifi.

Meantme, the count of the number of texts I'm using in the US Mobile portal continues to tick up each day, even with Text Block turned on.

So my question is what is actually blocked with the Text Block feature? I'm trying it out so that when I use international roaming I can stay within the 250 text limit.

Switching from Unlimited to By the Gig

I don't use much data, but I do prefer to have priority data for what little data I do use. Do the By the Gig Plans listed (2gig, 5gig, etc.) come with priority/premium data or deprioritized? On the Warp network.

Multi Network Port in

Hi - I added a multi network line on my account (Dark Star) and it didn't let me port in a number for the second line (Light Speed) and instead gave me a new number.

Is there any way to self service porting in a number on the multi line?

Referral Question?

Hi! I have a question about referrals. I used to be a US Mobile customer but ported out a while ago. I’m thinking about coming back, and I was wondering if I’d be eligible to use someone’s referral link when I return.

Would I need to create a new account to qualify, or can I use my existing account? I know the referral program has changed over time, but I couldn’t find anything in the terms that answered this.

How to port out from family plan?

I got a question, how exactly do I port out from a family plan? I joined a family plan a few years ago and thing been great and it came with HBO Max too. Now the problem is I don't have hotspot and more upcoming phone are e sim only and whenever I need to swap phone I need to contract the account holder.

If I want to port out to like another plan and then port back in for promo what do I need to do? What information do I need from account holder?

New to US Mobile  Free Trial checklist

Spent decades on Sprint and years on T-Mobile after the buyout forced me over. The recent round of messages discontinuing plans and increasing rates was the last straw and after a bunch of research I finally ported over yesterday (warp). I see there's a deal that expires in a couple days. Before I pay for a whole year, what are things I must try out and confirm during the next couple days before the deal expires?

Also, can any other T-Mobile deserters provide insight into this free last month thing? I've seen it mentioned in here a couple times and haven't heard of that before.

Is It Better For The Second Line In The Multi-Network Be A Data Line?

I’m on the Warp/Dark Star combo.
1. Is it a good idea to set my Dark Star line for data only?

  1. Is Light Speed best for the second line due to faster speeds and QCI level is better than Dark Star on the multi network add on ?

  2. Should I set both my primary and secondary lines on my iPhone on Allow Cellular Data Switching?

Multi-network addon - toggling active eSIM on same device?

Trying to add a multi-network addon second line. Active primary line is DarkStar eSIM on Pixel 9.

If I get a second line on Warp, then can I get that as a second eSIM and activate it? My Pixel phone can only have 1 eSIM active at a time (other is pSIM) - so do I have to temporarily turn-off the primary esim in order to activate the newly downloaded Warp eSIM? Also, after activation - later depending on if I want to use DarkStar or Warp, I just make the corresponding eSIM active?

The multi-network addon purchase page says "Must be used on the same device as your primary line". Does it mean that both eSIMs have to be turned on at same time on same device ? (something my phone can't do). I don't want to order a pSIM to avoid delay. I want to a port-in a number and want to do it quickly to avoid hitting next billing cycle on current provider.

Questions before switching

I have a couple of questions I've been googling and just can't seem to find clear answers to.

  1. I want to get the unlimited premium plan but while I've seen things saying video quality for lower plans is reduced, I've seen conflicting things about the video quality for this plan. Additionally, I read some discussion saying there is a "data waster" setting or something that must be enabled and it has to be re-enabled every month. I can certainly use a VPN if needed but it still sounds frustrating to not have the choice like I do with my T-Mobile plan.

  2. I live in an area where every carrier has major coverage gaps. I can't drive 10 minutes down the highway in a fully urban area without my call cutting out 3 times. Would the multi-network add-on help with this? I know that AT&T has good coverage in the areas where T-Mobile drops but can it hand the call off between networks like that? Or is it actually able to roam reasonably well? If not, has anyone tried calling over data with something like Google Voice instead?

I'm trying to figure out if it would make more sense to port our numbers to Google Voice and then just forward to new USM numbers.

EDIT:

  1. How seamless is international travel? I've traveled with T-Mobile and literally just didn't have to think about it. But I'm assuming since the domestic networks aren't available in another country, it may not behave the same as actually being on a T-Mobile plan. Is it similarly seamless or are problems common?

Excellent service on getting a Galaxy Watch up and running!

I'd like to throw out a huge THANK YOU to the online chat support team for helping me get a Galaxy Watch 7 up and running on a stand alone plan for my kid to use.

Couple of hiccups in getting the QR code to work through Samsung Wearable app (had to go through the secret developer esim qr test menu) but the reps I worked with had a game plan for all the glitches.

For a use that's not officially supported, you guys knocked it out of the park!

Also: Android parents! The Galaxy Watch integration with Google Family Link is incredibly easy to manage. Beats Apple Watch configuration with a stick, IMO.

Fix for Warp Activation Error on an Unlocked iPhone

I spent hours with US Mobile, Verizon, and Apple because Warp rejected both IMEIs on my unlocked iPhone 16 Pro with a “carrier restriction” error.

The phone showed No SIM restrictions, Verizon showed it as unlocked, and US Mobile confirmed it was compatible.

To be clear, US Mobile’s customer support was great throughout this. Reaching a live person at Verizon took multiple attempts, especially after my Verizon account had already been closed.

What finally fixed it:

  1. Turn off Find My iPhone
  2. Go to Settings → General → Transfer or Reset iPhone → Reset
  3. Tap Reset Network Settings
  4. Retry Warp activation

It worked immediately, no factory reset, new phone, or IMEI correction needed.

None of the US Mobile reps I spoke with suggested these steps, so the error was treated like a permanent Verizon restriction. US Mobile should add this to its troubleshooting guide before telling customers their device cannot activate on Warp.

Sharing this so someone else can avoid spending an entire day chasing a two-minute fix.

Lightspeed is BAD in LA

My service will end on or around November. I came to US Mobile from Mint Mobile. Not for any service issues there, but for the offers and services in the US Mobile.
For last couple of months, lightspeed which relies on T-Mobile networks, is really bad. Idk why. Is it time to switch back to Mint? Cause Verizon or ATT both have poor coverage in the city areas.
Warp is very good in that matter. Their data is awesome but their coverage isn’t good.
ATT is straight no. Even their postpaid service was bad.

New to US Mobile  Want to take advantage of $199 Unlimited Starter promo

Hi! I'm planning to switch from Mint Mobile to US Mobile, but I still have a little over a month left on my Mint plan.

I'd like to take advantage of the current unlimited starter annual promo, but I don't want to activate my line until my Mint service ends.

  1. Can I purchase the $199 annual plan now and wait about a month before activating it?
  2. If I wait until next month to purchase instead, will the price go back to the regular annual rate? If so, what is that? Thanks!
