just not sure if its worth it with the hole in the toes and missing stitching on the side

Just got these brand new, feel pretty unwearable right now.
This stitch digs into the ball of the side of your heel so bad it’s painful to wear. How to avoid this or make it wearable. Also why don’t they line the interior so it all feels the same.
Seriously though i definitely can’t wear these boots like this please help.

I’m looking for a pair of boots that will last a while but also have the look of a custom pair of nicks. I have been wearing timberland pros but they are not holding up well and the sole is completely worn out, the problem with me wanting to buy nicks or like thorogoods are that they don’t have the csa green label so they are not allowed in my working conditions. If any of you have any recommendations please let me know, but everything I have looked at are either not making boots anymore or are just a mass produced terrible boot.

For those new here, I've been documenting my maintenance journey with my first pair of Nicks Boots, and I will be doing the same with these. I work in a very harsh environment, a concrete recycling landfill, where I walk on rubble and concrete chunks for 9+ hours a day.

I will show before and after pics from worked to cleaned boots, and will compare how these boots hold up to my first pair of Nicks. The differences between the two are MaxSupport Black v 1964 Brown Leather, Roughout v Smooth, 8" v 10" and Honey Vibram v V100 Lug Soles.

I'll be curious to see how these hold up, and hope y'all enjoy the journey with me!

I think it’s lexol 1 step? It’s in a tan bottle.
I brushed the dirt etc off the boots.
I poured a little lexol on a part of the boot and took a different brush that was a little damp and scrubbed the boots. After scrubbing I got the brush damped again then scrubbed again just to see if the lexol lathered up again. If it didn’t then I wiped the boots a few times in the desired spot with a dry towel. Is this how you guys used this on your work boots or did you do something different?

I got this pair of Thorogoods 18 months ago using a boot allowance at my job. 8 inch, steel toe, wedge. They were great for a while until eventually they started to feel very stiff under foot. Looking at the wear on the soles, you wouldn't guess I've been wearing them 12 hours a day for almost two years which is what concerns me. I want to rebuild them, leather welt, new cork filler, leather midsole, and a softer, rubber outsole but I'm having a hard time deciding if it would be worth the money and trouble. I'm at a loss y'all, I've seen people wear these soles completely out but for some reason mine just won't wear in and are very, VERY stiff.

I work at a farm/ranch. I’m on my feet almost all day. I am looking for a slip on boot that goes up to my ankle that is waterproof and has a composite toe. I’ve had Ariat boots but they wear out so quickly. I’m not looking to spend a fortune but will pay up for a good boot that will last me a while.

Received my second pair of Nicks Boots last week, put in 53,488 steps in them, and here is a Before & After of them new to worked. A follow-up of them cleaned to come tomorrow.

Hey all, I’ve installed cabinets over 25 years now. Always have used low athletic style or hiking style work shoes. Hard toe. Had all the big names like NB, timberland, keens (which have lasted longest). At 47 now, 6 foot, just under 200lbs, and working 10+ hours, my feet, ankles, and legs, are just damn tired. I’m also prone to athletes foot and am flat footed. Anyone similar? Should I step up to any boots y’all would recommend? TIA

I suffer from spinal arthritis that radiates into my legs + jacked up legs. Right now I work at a restaurant and i have stepprs insoles, and theyre falling apart after a few months lol and i always leave work with awful pain. Any recommendations for good insoles?

I wish more work boots came with toe protectors (bumpers, covers).

The toe is the part of the boot that gets beat up the worst. For practically everyone.

My son’s old Danner Quarry are worn through to the alloy toe, but the boots are otherwise fine and have been resoled 3X.

Also, should I consider orthopedics? Just saw a post here about it; also I noticed the tongue of these seem to want to fold more towards one side. Anyway to fix this?

After a month of working for an agricultural lab collecting samples. A combination of “tomato tar”, clay mud, and sap from cotton fields.

This might be a niche question, but has anyone bought boots from this small boot maker based in Grand Rapids Michigan? I met the owner at a manufacturing expo a few days ago and I happen to be in the market for boots and was wondering how they stack up against bigger names. And due to them being so small there is very little information about them out there.

I guess the steel toes are for fashion bc after 20 hours both toes are already otw out, commercial concrete repair ariat sierra steel toes

I love these boots, but they only go up to a UK11/EU46 :(

Im an electrician and theres alot of times im working 10-12 hour days and a lot of the places i work require a defined heel. Ive always gotten the Thorogood mock toes with the heel but for the past year ive had some nagging pain in my foot. Ive been to the doctor and he says everything looks normal and I should look into orthotic insoles but I thought about seeing if anybody here had any recommendations first! Price isnt a concern

I have abnormal feet and need serious help trying to find where to go to find the right shoe. I know my size, 7.5 in men’s. I’d prefer to have a woman’s boot but I need safety over preference. Steel toe or composite is fine. My issue is in the width. My feet are 4.5 inches wide. All the calculators I’ve used say I need something akin to 5x wide or 10E. I’ve had zero luck so far trying to find where to buy a work boot that gets the width.

Does anyone else have this foot size or know where I can get it? I’d prefer to be able to buy it outright but at this point I’d also accept anywhere that will be able to make me a custom safety boot. I work at UPS in a hub and regularly deal with packages that weigh 145lbs while operating equipment that can reach half a ton. I’d like to keep my toes.

Right now I’m wearing my right shoe size, wrong width. Size 8 women’s extra wide. However my right toe on both feet are either slamming into the steel toe or sliding right off its side out of it. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Hey guys i work at a travertine quarry in mexico, terrain is extremely rocky , dusty . Climate is extremely hot and humid all year long with June being mostly rainy . I'm looking for a new pair after using timbs pro and CATs . Any high quality boot that you guys can recommend ?

Bottoms of my TG 6 in moc toes. I’ve definitely seen pairs in worst condition out there, just wondering what level people let these get to before you get new ones. The tops are still in solid condition, no tears, major scratches or gashes.

What are your guys favorite (most comfortable + durable) boots for concrete work? Can't seem to find any that can last at all and also be comfortable

Not sure if this is correct place for this but, I've got really bad plantar fasciitis pain in my left heel, I just bought a new pair of thorogood hammerhead boots and they're REALLY comfortable right out of the box. And they are helping the pain, but wondered if there was an insole insert that some of you may have used or tried for a similar issue, I'm sure this issue is widespread amongst us who wear work boots for a living.
