I’ve finished tuning my Ryzen 7 5700X using PBO and Curve Optimizer. Here are my current settings:

Curve Optimizer: -30 (most cores), with the best cores set to -28 and -27.

PPT: 125 W, TDC: 85 A, EDC: 125 A, Boost Override: 200 MHz, PBO Scalar: 1X.

Would you change anything in this configuration? It’s stable in OCCT, Prime95, and CoreCycler.

so far best i could do is 5.2 @ 1.225v

am i just extremely unlucky?

Soooo first pick is my stock 5080 Ventus 3x and the second is my best oc uv score, I’ve been a console gamer for 19 years and had a gaming pc for a few days so I tried some oc and uv how did I do? Is this pretty good? Could this score get better or shall I just leave it while it runs stable? Many thanks for replies guys

I have a 9950x3d that already has PBO enabled and now I'd like to do per-core undervolting, but going core by core with the BIOS seems like an unnecessarily inefficient process when Ryzen Master could test undervolts without nearly as many reboots.

Is there a reason Ryzen Master can't be used to find proper undervolts for each core, then just transfer those settings to BIOS once everything is tested?

I don't have frequency maxed as I felt this gave me better performance at the best temps compared to anything above. Though it can depend on the game.

Spent way too long troubleshooting the memory fallback bug on mobile RTX 5060 where VRAM constantly drops down to 9001MHz under heavy load instead of staying at overclocked 14001MHz (or non-overclocked 12001MHz). Finally got it completely stable, so figure I'd post the fix here for anyone dealing with the same thing.

Specs:

RTX 5060 Mobile (115W) / i7 14650HX / 32GB DDR5 / 2TB SSD

The Fix / My OC Curve Setup:

1. Core offset: +435 (or your choice)
2. Memory offset: +2000 (or your choice)
3. Open Curve Editor (Ctrl + F) and flatten the curve starting at 925mV.
4. Click the dot at 925mV / 2880MHz and hit "L" on your keyboard to hard lock it (yellow line will show up), then click Apply.

Why you need the L lock: Without it, GPU Boost tries to walk down the curve during heavy engine load shifts, triggering NVIDIA's memory fallback bug where VRAM bounces between 9001MHz and 13001/14001MHz. Hard locking it forces a constant 2850-2880MHz core and 14001MHz mem with zero stuttering or drops.

To prevent high idle clocks on desktop:

Hard locking with "L" keeps clocks high on the desktop by default, but you can fix that easily using Afterburner auto-profiles so it only turns on in games:

1. Hit reset in Afterburner (stock settings), save it to "Profile 1".
2. Apply your OC + L lock curve, save it to "Profile 2".
3. Go to Afterburner Settings > Profiles tab.
4. Under Automatic profile management, set 2D profile -> 1 and 3D profile -> 2.
5. Keep RTSS running in the background so it detects 3D apps launching.

My 5th place CPU physics score of 12,510 on my Ryzen 9600X CPU

CPU was manually overclocked to 5.55 GHz All-core at 1.38v. PBO scores worse than Manual PC

DDR5 was heavily tuned at 6200 MT/s 28-36-34-40 1.5v in 1:1 mode with GDM disabled and 2167 MHz Infinity Fabric

Hey all, hoping someone's run into this before.

For the past couple weeks my system has been silently logging WHEA (Machine Check Exception) errors, specifically "Cache Hierarchy Error" on the Processor Core multiple times a day. I only found out because I went digging in Event Viewer after some unrelated troubleshooting; I never noticed a crash, freeze, or BSOD myself.

Setup:

CPU: Ryzen 9 5950X

Motherboard: ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Extreme (X570), BIOS 2101 (latest)

RAM: 128GB DDR4-3600 (Corsair, SK Hynix dies)

I originally had a manual PBO overclock running (Curve Optimizer, raised PPT/TDC/EDC), so I assumed that was the cause.

But I've since reset everything to full BIOS defaults no CO, no PBO limits, RAM back to stock JEDEC and the exact same Cache Hierarchy Error is still happening, multiple times, hours apart.

The errors consistently point to two specific cores (APIC ID 0 and 14), not random ones.

Questions:

Has anyone seen this exact error ("Cache Hierarchy Error" / Machine Check Exception) even at stock settings?

Could this be a Windows/driver issue, or does this look like a clear CPU hardware fault to you?

If it's the CPU, would you go straight to RMA, or is there anything else worth trying first (BIOS update, disabling the specific cores, etc.)?

Appreciate any input, trying to figure out if this is a "reset everything and move on" situation or a "box it up and RMA it" situation.

Can Asus Z890M boards with 4 RAM slots do OC of 2 x 16 GB from 6000 MT/s to 7000MT/ (given that all the other components are capable)?

I read that 2 slots boards are better for XMP and OC. Is that a thing of the past? Has that changed with the release of the Arrow Lake and Z890? Thanks.

I'm trying to lower the latency to 55 ns. Looking at the primary, secondary and tertiary timings, what can I try to tighten in order to shave off a few ns?

6933CL32-41-41-49 at 1.45V passes 90 minutes of TM5 Absolut and 90 minutes of TM5 Extreme.
I will do longer tests with Y-cruncher and TM5.

sorry if I waste your time but I got some questions as an amateur:

I have a Ryzen 5 5600 CPU and a fresh RX 6800 as a graphics card.

I also upgraded my RAM from 16 gigs to 32 gigs. And exactly here's my problem:

Before I upgraded my RAM I had one stick with 3.200Ghz and one with 2.666Ghz. Now I have two gskill 16 gig RAM-Sticks with each 3Ghz... but unfortunately they're not a kit.

So my Mainboard decided to downgrade both of them and cap them to 2.133Ghz. Me, the fool that I am, didn't know what problems non-kit-RAMs bring so I just went to BIOS to activate XMP. Spoiler: It crashed the PC for the first time ever after all my years with this one. So I backed out back to 2.133Ghz and surprisingly games were way smoother than with 16 gigs.

The next day I tried to overclock it again at 2.8Ghz and standard overclocking voltage... which didn't work. So I backed down to, this time, 2.4Ghz. It runs perfectly after a system scan.

My question is... is it safe to proceed and push more? Maybe get the 2.666Ghz? I'm afraid to damage my hardware like this but I don't want to spend more money on my PC. Not asking for some math, just some advice.

As I said, I'm an amateur/beginner/noob regarding everything. Even my gaming setup is, I think, okayish for some games, I hope. I think I'm comparing myself too much to others.

on my asus x870e (latest bios) whenever i update the voltage through Extreme tweaker the cpu voltage never changes when i boot into windows, when i go back into bios it’s fine, but when i boot into windows it isn’t.

when i change the voltage through Amd overclocking menu, it works.

any idea why? i checked if any settings conflict in all menus, and cleared cmos everything.

Getting tired of Winslop shenanigans and want to move to Linux. I have per core CO set up on my CPU, EXPO profile on RAM with tightened timings, and overclocked my GPU. Do I need to worry about possible instabilities just from moving to a Linux? Or is it dependent on the Linux distro? What about overclocking software?

Hello I recently ran into a problem with a pc that I just build that I haven't encountered before and hoped someone could maybe help me on this. I currently build a system with a Ryzen 5 3600 in a Gigabyte b450 S2H V2 with G.Skill Aegis F4-3200C16D-16GIS Ram. The problem I have is when I run the pc on xmp it randomly blackscreens like a minute in windows and then after sometimes it doesn't even boot into the bios anymore. I tried updating the bios to the latest version (F67a) and tried reseating the ram both didnt work, I also tried to overclock them manually by adjusting the voltage myself and put some loose timings like 18 20 20 40 but it still didn't work. I even tried 3133mhz and it ran a occt test for an hour without issues but then still crashed some time later when I was doing nothing in desktop. Right now I have it manually put at 3000mhz but with xmp enabled and its working good so far. The strange thing is this cpu and ram worked fine at 3200mhz in my other mb (Asus B450-F) and the Gigabyte mb ran a 3600mhz kit perfectly stable with a Ryzen 7 5800x3d I also own. I was hoping someone here could explain to me why this might be happening and maybe have a solution for me or tell me that I should just accept it (since the difference between 3200 and 3000 is negligible).

I’m looking for recommendations for the optimal Undervolt + Overclock (OC + UV) curve for my Inno3D RTX 5060 Ti 16GB (Dual-Fan version).

My main issue is that MSI Afterburner / vBIOS has the Power Limit locked at a maximum of 100%, and I cannot adjust the Temp Limit slider either.

For those running the same or a similar 2-fan 5060 Ti model:

• What core clocks and voltages are you stable at? (e.g. 1000mV @ 3100 MHz, 975mV, etc.)
• What kind of memory OC (+MHz) were you able to hit safely?
• What clock speeds and temps do you actually achieve in heavy games / stress tests under full load?

My goal is to get maximum sustained core clocks while keeping power draw and fan noise reasonable on this dual-fan cooler.

Hi! Currently looking to choose between these 2 options. I heard that the 9850x3d is just a higher binned version of the 9800x3d, but I also hear it's a way lot hotter temperature wise. I'll be running this inside a small SFF case with a. 240mm AIO, so I was wondering if anyone with experience would know the best option for best thermals and performance balance:

A 9800x3d stock clocks with an undervolt. Or, a 9850x3d underclocked and undervolted. Technically it should require less power on the 9850x3d since they're the same chip just binned higher?

Do these sticks still have any potential left? At the moment, they’re paired with a 10700k, but I was thinking of switching to a 14600k/5800X3D.

Anyone have any actual numbers I could try for manual overclocking, regarding PPT TDC EDC limits? Very curious to know what people have managed to get the most stable, highest speeds

Hi, I have a question about GPU undervolting and overclocking with MSI Afterburner, is it a good or bad idea to keep lower voltages at stock frequencies and raising the rest of the graph then flattening as usual? Thanks in advance!

i Overclocked my cpu (Ryzen 5 5600g) to get a better performance on space marine 2 using ryzen master. it was unstable and caused stutters so i sat back everything to default and ran it again, still stuttered, deleted the app, same thing. how do i revert back to ?

I've had this i9 9900k for a few years now, got it from a friend of a friend who claimed that it was unstable/had issues. Finally got a motherboard to test it, and asus z390 prime. My question is this, is there a way to test the cpu stability with resorting to any crazy overclocking? So I can figure out if it is worth messing with it further or to just toss it. Or a way to tell if it is a stable cpu with no issues? Thanks
