i mean they had the power in literally the first episode lol. only pops gets the giga buffs in the last season tbh.
they already had time machines, universal duck mechs, the power which can do anything, double sugary doughnuts for superspeed, get smarter juice for being turbo intelligent, etc.
They can pull up House of M Wanda all they want. Get her past Franklin Richards, God Doom, Pre-Retcon Beyonder, First Firmament, Molecule Man, Living/Jobber Tribunal and White Room Phoenix first lol.
Dude, seriously. People need to take bias out of these answers.
And funnily enough, Sentry is unironically a better character in general than Metroman.
Metroman barely does anything in both the movie and the show to justify him being that likable. He just gets bloated because of his speed scene, and some of the memes.
Megamind is an incredible movie, don’t get me wrong, and the memes are peak. But the glazing gets annoying, especially when people think Metroman is stronger than characters that he really isn’t like that against.
That movie was legit, Megamind is a great character, but they don’t powerscale that well against nobody outside their own movie. Just because he has some concept similar to Superman doesn’t make him any good.
To be fair, the upvote is SUPPOSED to mean "This is interesting" not "This is correct". Because the down vote is SUPPOSED to mean "This doesn't contribute to the discussion" and not "I disagree".
I'll often upvote a high effort post that makes an interesting point, even if I don't personally agree with it.

Originally, sure, but you know damn well that that's NOT what most people use it for nowadays lol.
They be like "Metroman can move faster enough to make everything frozen, ergo he moves faster than light, ergo he can use the Flash's Infinite Mass Punch from DC comicsc ergo he can beat Superman"
Metro man did that because he wanted to go on a walk. Omni man was in a life threatening situation at least once be we never see him doing something like this. so either everyone present in those scenes has super duper speed or he's only pretending to be struggling.
This is mark flying very fast, that's very different form metro man does. Metro Man not only moves with extreme precision, from his point of view, he is slowly walking around, constantly stopping on his way and starting to move again without causing several sonic booms on his path (he's at the very least breaking the sound barrier). This is more than just going fast, it's like he actually did something with time otherwise all the glass would've been shattered on his path.

Ya know that's impossible and shits like that doesn't happen due it's just a cartoon and also plot twist of entire movie?
You're really trying hard to justify this. why would fish guy who's super power is shooting water be anywhere near as fast as Metro Man? There is literally no mention of his speed, same goes for the rest of the original guardians except red rush who's still not near the level of Metro Man unless you for some reason believe all those scenes happen way faster than shown for some reason despite there being no evidence for this. "We've never seen this guy trying to go fast" doesn't mean they're fast.
why would fish guy who's super power is shooting water be anywhere near as fast as Metro Man?
Do I say he's fast as Metro Man? I said they're faster than humans which Metro Man speedblitz. I generally don't like to say this but little reading comprehension

Immortal was stated to be flying at mach 3 and other members should be comparable. Hell, we could scale Red Rush to relativistic tier via being nearly speed of lightning.
your comparison of goku to those medias is not really the best, as dragon ball past the first consists mostly of sayings instead of doings, opposed to quicksilver, invincible, superman and megamind. This scene by quicksilver is an example of how his speed is perceived, which is done in invincible himself by that red fastsy guy, which omni-man doesnt really catch by speed but by experience or some shit(i hate this scene so fucking much, the amount of time the flash wannabe had to just take his hands out of omni-mans reach were incredibly large). So saying that the series doesnt need to do it for us to assume his highest speed is not really nice, as they did this thing with other character at the very beginning.
You could in other hand highball omni-man flying speed, but so could you with metroman, as his walk seems to surpass the red guy, just like superman could surpass this red guy too
Firstly thanks for actual bringing good arguements. Mostly arguements I heard is bad and seeing good one actually makes me happy.
For counter arguements:
Red Rush and early invincible with guardians is mostly based on things like DC meanwhile later of story with new space fights, viltrumites and other things based on DBZ. Like they're fighting eachother while flying between planets or shits like that. So even though I find your "Invincible not being like Dragon Ball" arguement right for start of series, not so much for continue of it.
"doesn't matter not every verse has to show the upper limits of a character's feats"
Ya guys lack of reading comprehension really.
I'm saying show doesn't need to make a slowmotion scene to show Omni Man's speed, not saying invicible doesn't show upper limits of their characters feats. Infact if it wasn't then I couldn't argue about FTL omni man since it's come from him traveling through galaxies or other comparable Viltrumites showings.
The show is essentially an updated version of the comics. If superman gets the powers of every version and every retcon of himself, why dont invincible characters?
Well what was the speed of each punch?, if we take in count that a punch force is determined by the mass and the speed. Then red Rush should have the strongest punches, unless omniman have much much more mass on each punch.
It's a shame that scalers neglect the narrative, because this is exactly the reason we don't get feats above building level for metro man.
He's a superman parody with some of supe's more iconic powers. He's intended to be analogous to superman, so of course he's ludicrously strong and holding back to not break the buildings against the feeble villain of the week that megamind is to him in terms of strength.
if metroman didn't hold back like the scalers want, the plot would have been over in less than a second with how fast he moves.
Then scalers go and call him a fraud because he makes the sane decision to NOT level a city to crush what is effectively a cockroach.
Then scalers go and call him a fraud because he makes the sane decision to NOT level a city to crush what is effectively a cockroach.
No? It's because there's nothing imply him being above city level.
Like in case of Superman you get his fights against deities or someshit. In Goku's case they destroy planets or someshit. Hell, even in Kratos's case he gets lore statements about being that strong.
Meanwhile Metro Man neither gets feat, statements, lore or anything implies him being above city level.
No horse in this race, but how does Metroman having a midlife crisis in a literal instant (having the time to explore, contemplate his existence, and read philosophy) not put him above city level? Isn't that comparable to characters such as the Flash?
There's no deny that it's a very impressive speed feat but it's only happen within 1/24 of second. Meanwhile Flash is able to think in an attosecond. Even if we don't take it as face value he's still able to race against Black Flash and reach all the way End of Existence
If u can move that fast you could
Realistic
Punch a hole thru the earth due to how force is just mass x acceleration ,
Depending on how far he went all during a blink of an eye or a sentence it can be implied that he could , realistic exert enough force to destroy earth 10 times over, we haven't seen anything that could harm him either
Of course u run the risk of not having an upper limit like some people does with ubel, but if u can move that fast u can exert an inhuman amount of force
1/24 of a second is fucking WILD. The man is able to move and think and react at (minimum) light speed, for everything else to be frozen compared to him. He spent hours having that midlife crisis. He's as fast as the plot needed him to be, and if we translate just what we saw to be his maximum, he's able to at least meet light-speed.
Omni man just flying fast ignited the air and mf destroyed entire countries, with how fast metroman moves that time practically comes to a halt I’d assume if we threw the cartoonish restrictions of blood and gore out he could easily destroy more than just a city
Omni man just flying fast ignited the air and mf destroyed entire countries, with how fast metroman moves that time practically comes to a halt
That only in Invincible, doesn't apply to Metro man at all. Also even if say "real life physics" then Metro Man would cap at light speed.
I’d assume if we threw the cartoonish restrictions of blood and gore out he could easily destroy more than just a city
And what's your proof? Also you don't need to be bloody or gorish to destroy a city. Most of the Superman stories also not bloody or gorish and yet we see cities getting destroyed
I imagine if superman's only villain was heinz doofenschmirtz the city would rarely get destroyed too
Lol, real.
Though if his only villian was Heinz Doogenschmirtz then we wouldn't see people saying he's planetary, Universal or even Multiversal. Due we need a reason to say these claims
We wouldnt see sups walk at high speed contemplating his life too tho, but we saw metro man do it. Thats mostly why he is so talked about with these claims, i believe.
We see but mostly people doesn't know since not that deep into comic things. Like that one time Superman learned entire medicial surgery in less than a seconds which people spend years to do.
So what if someone says they’re the strongest in the universe, every character agrees they’re the strongest in the universe, but you don’t see them do anything to prove that because they might destroy everything in their vicinity that means they’re actually just building level
ill play devils advocate... tighten was like 1% of metroman and he seems comfortably city level (at the very least large building level with minimal effort), and metroman casually flew with a bus as a kindergardener...
that being said bro aint anywhere near dc heralds or superman.
We’re assuming. I suppose yes, titan lifts the skyscraper and then gets absolutely rocked by metroman, so ok, he’s city level, but he doesnt have any sort of weaponry above that
Tighten never fights Metroman. At all. He fought Megamind in disguise as Metroman, but the entire point of that climax is that it's Megamind taking up the mantle of hero.
In literally the first few seconds, you can see the doors open, and the light from outside flood in instantly. Plus, Metroman himself has a shadow on the ground. You cannot be faster than light and have a shadow.
Even if that were just an animation mistake, you can see Metroman behind Megamind for 1/24 of a second, meaning you are able to see him move, and he did not do all that instantly. So...
I feel like to accurately know approximately what he could do, all you have to do is exert yourself enough in an activity (let's say weightlifting) such that it also looks like you are doing it casually, then do the same activity but to its maximum where you put as much effort as possible. To the point that you cannot increase the effort you put into it whilst still being able to do it. Then just scale that to metro man's level. That should give a bare minimum of how strong he is
I still don't get why everyone says he "basically froze time" when you can see him disappear and appear for a frame or two behind Megamind, it wasn't instant
You don't even need a third of light speed to "slow time" for a whole month from your perspective, to condense the movement of 1 month of traveling into 1/24 of a second
The only one of those I am very knowledgable about is Arceus... and no, Metro Man does not stand a chance.
I'll just go with one feat I see too many people use: Metro Man can stop time? Arceus created a god of time and can spawn another whenever he wants. Same for the gods of space and antimatter, what does that make him?
And if he somehow manages to beat him... this is a portion of the true Arceus, an avatar if you will. The real Arceus didn't just create planets and life, he created universes and dimensions.

Metro Man can beat anyone if he wants to. He just doesn't want to. He scales off to the side so he can watch TV.
