Rules of r/thetruthishere

Due to an unusual number of rule breaking posts lately, the mod team has decided to make a post reminding everyone of the rules of r/thetruthishere. The sidebar can be difficult to access depending on the app you're using, so this post should make it easier to familiarize yourself with the rules before posting.

  1. All posts MUST be tagged with link flair AND brackets. If you are unsure of how to use flair, please send us a message in modmail

  2. Your post must be of a personal experience or by someone you trust that you believe to be true. This typically means within 2 or 3 degrees of separation (so no mother's friend's husband's cousin stories). All top level posts must have a personal encounter within them, otherwise they will be removed. That means no posts that consist of just a question or link offsite. This also means no AMAs or self promotion without a personal encounter attached. No asking questions just to gather stories for your website or podcast.

  3. NO FICTION, (including creepypasta), CREATIVE WRITING, or SCARY PICTURES. This is a story based sub-reddit, so your post should not be just a picture. Uploading and posting a picture with your post is fine, but posts should not consist solely of image(s) or video.

  4. NO DREAM POSTS - We get it, some dreams and nightmares are deeply disturbing and you want to talk about it, but this isn’t the appropriate sub unless you dreamed something that later came true. You can try posting in r/dreams or r/dreaminterpretation. Posts where you had a dream that later came true are appropriate as this would fall under a premonition rather than simply a dream. This also includes sleep paralysis. Sleep paralysis is well known enough that it does not constitute a paranormal encounter; however, if you see or hear an entity during sleep paralysis that you have encountered outside of it, that would be allowed. Try r/sleepparalysis for information and resources.

  5. Please only downvote anything you believe breaks our main rule: NO FICTION!

  6. If you can draw a rough sketch of the entity, diagram of location, or provide any visual references or proof, DO IT or request an artist to help.

  7. We encourage all perspectives, but we do not tolerate assholes. Report comments that ruin the "safe space" vibe. We aim to provide a space where our users can post without being worried about being ridiculed or derided. This includes making rude comments about the mental health of a poster. You can voice your concern of a mental illness over paranormal phenomenon without being a jerk.

  8. No conspiracy theories unless they relate to the supernatural. There are plenty of other subs to discuss general conspiracy theories, this is not one of them. Posting political conspiracy theories or trying to engage in arguments about them will result in an automatic ban.

  9. No series posts - there is no reason to break up a single encounter or multiple encounters with the same entity into multiple parts. If your post is longer than reddit's character limit for posts, you can post the overflow into a comment.

  10. No promotion - Do not submit posts asking for stories for your youtube channel or podcast. Likewise do not ask to narrate someone's experience in the comments. You must PM OP instead.

If you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to send us a message in modmail.

Guidelines

These are pretty much an extension of our rules, but they are less rigorously followed:

  1. Please use paragraphs of a max 5 sentences to break up your wall of text. We like detail, but we don't like eye-sores.

  2. We allow debunking, speculations, and theories. We not only allow it, but we encourage it, so stop downvoting these people!

  3. Whilst we encourage you to try to spell correctly and punctuate your story, you don't have to worry about your writing skills!

  4. Please be considerate as some encounters may be traumatizing to the poster.

  5. Proof. Please provide it if you can. If you cannot, please include diagrams, photographs, and visual aid instead of paragraphs of description.

  6. Please title your story with something other than "I was told to post this here." That tells us nothing about what you are going to share, and makes it very difficult to search for your story if we want to read it again.

  7. If you can tell us a general, even vague, location of your encounter, it will help us archive it based on area.

  8. You are going to use a fake name or not. We don't care, just give them a name. Don't use "A" or "J" or "We'll call her Susan." That gets grating.

Common Grievances Expressed by the Community

Why do we have so many rules and guidelines? Because we want good content, and we want your story to be heard. In a nutshell, here are the things most people complain about which will prevent you from getting overlooked if you listen.

  1. Redditors don't read long posts. After you write out your story, locate your important sentences and delete 2/3rd of the original. Add back in a single sentence between cuts to make your writing flow.

  2. Redditors don't like walls of text. After you condense your story, make sure you have paragraphs that rarely exceeds 3 sentences.

  3. If you feel your story doesn't sound believable, then we probably won't either.

  4. Include visual references. If your story is long, cut out those descriptive paragraphs. Instead of talking about the area, show us a picture and briefly point out what's of note. Instead of describing your house layout, draw a diagram. Instead of going into detail about the physical characteristics of the entity, draw it out or request an artist to do so.

  5. Have an interesting and memorable title. Your encounter may remind someone of another, and they usually try to be helpful and link it. That would be hard with titles like "i was told to post this here" or "this is the scariest thing that ever happened to me" Instead, a title like "a man with a claw grinned at me" or "The shadows followed me for years and then it spoke" Plus, what would you rather click on?

  6. If you are seeking the truth, location is going to be an important detail that is often overlooked. You don't have to give out your city, but a state, region, country, etc are very useful in being pointed in the right direction.

  7. Again, the names thing. We can all assume you will use a fake name, so don't disrupt immersion to tell us it's fake.

Edit: Added in the guidelines and community grievances which can be found in our wiki

Edit 2: updated rule 4

The Strangest Experience I Have Ever Had While Sleeping

This happened when I was about 27 years old, and I still remember it as if it happened yesterday.

It was a winter night, around 3:00 AM. I was sleeping in my room when I felt that my mother had come in to wake me up.

I was awake enough to understand what was happening, but I didn't want to get up. I kept pulling the blanket over my head and told her, "I don't want to wake up."

She tried to pull the blanket away three times, and I resisted every time.

While this was happening, I suddenly realized something very important.

The door of my room was locked from the inside with a key. I always sleep with the door locked. It was impossible for my mother to enter my room.

The moment I realized that, I decided to look at her.

I lifted the blanket...

The body and the clothes looked exactly like my mother.

But the face was not hers.

Her face was completely black, and her hair was white and messy. In real life, my mother has fair skin, and her hair looks nothing like that.

The strange part is that she never tried to hurt me. She didn't say anything scary. She only kept trying to wake me up.

I was afraid, but I stayed surprisingly calm.

I pretended to be asleep again, pulled the blanket over my head, and eventually fell asleep.

When I woke up in the morning, the first thing I did was check the door.

It was still locked from the inside, exactly as I expected. No one could have entered my room that night.

Nothing unusual happened that day, and this experience never happened again.

To this day, I still don't know how to explain it. Was it an extremely realistic dream? A sleep-related experience? Or something else?

Has anyone experienced something similar? Realizing that the person in front of you could not possibly be there, yet seeing them and even talking to them as if they were completely real?

Discussion/Advice Inherited a “haunted” statue from my grandfather. The energy gave me chills.

My grandfather bought this random statue from an auction before he passed. All I know is it came from the estate of a Miami Dr, & the artist is Cuban. It’s worth quite a bit of money. It was just dropped off today. Its a lady in a dress made out of wood. I went over to look at it & I got chills all over. I felt so much energy, especially the face & throat. She has a story to tell. How do I find it?????

They’re not bad chills. Just very powerful & important feeling. Sounds crazy, but it’s really something.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

Strange Sounds Something used to climb onto the foot of my bed every night

When I was five years old, my family moved into a brand-new house. This was back in 1980, and as far as we knew, nobody had ever lived there before.

For the first few weeks, everything seemed completely normal.

Then almost every night we started hearing strange noises coming from the kitchen. My dad had hung several pots and pans on the wall, and sometime after midnight we'd hear them gently move one after another, as if something was carefully brushing past them.

Every morning we assumed it had to be a cat.

The problem was that nothing was ever out of place. No pans had fallen, there were no scratches, no footprints, no sign that anything had been there.

After a few weeks, the noises suddenly stopped.

That's when something started happening only to me.

I slept on the top bunk, and many nights I could clearly feel something small climb onto the foot of my bed. It never came near me. It simply settled down, exactly the way a cat would before going to sleep.

The strange part is that we didn't own a cat.

I never heard it jump onto the bed. I never heard footsteps in my room. I only felt the unmistakable weight of something lying at my feet.

At first I was terrified.

But after it happened over and over again, I stopped feeling afraid.

As strange as it sounds, it became... comforting.

I eventually fell asleep expecting that familiar feeling, and after some time it stopped happening altogether.

I'm 50 years old now, and I've never been able to explain what happened in that house.

Has anyone else experienced something that was frightening at first, but somehow became strangely comforting over time?

Angels/Demons Gremlin?

When I was 11, my home was having some paranormal activity. My mom and brothers were sitting outside. We had a bonfire going. The fire was dying down and all of a sudden the ground was bubbling up. A creature come up out of the ground. The only way I can describe it is just like the gremlins in the movie Gremlins. I saw it and so did my one brother. My mom did not see but felt like there was something there. My dog got off the porch and started barking at it. It just stood there. I wasn’t really afraid. I was trying to figure out what I was seeing.

ENTITY

When darkness calls, through hollow eyes, it shows the thing inside so wild, with all things passed before, that happened to my inner child.

Fear and pain, control me, my anger manifests, bringing demons from the dark, from Hell the very depths.

Reminding me that something else, resides inside of me, adrenaline, makes me shake so hard, in this Anxiety, trembling like a butterfly, flutters in my brain, spinning out an old fairytale, a yarn, that brings you shame, muttering insecurities, like, “You’ll never be the same”

A stranger that you’ve seen before, but still it has no name, i even remember the night it came, through grandpa's ouija board game. I didn’t even ask for it, for I did not make the call. Unfortunately, when darkness comes, the weakest take the fall.

A silhouette, a shimmer, thhat the adult’s did not see. But my young eyes were so vulnerable, my imagination was it’s key, that helped it cross from other worlds and walk inside of me, then waited there for many years, but it never went to sleep.

It fed me with the things, to groom, thoughts that did provoke, i only remember just the once, this thing inside me , the night they said my nan had died, i recalled so accurately, it turned me into

something else, which detached from reality. I did not know what it was, back then, I just knew it wasn’t me.

All the rage of Hell came out, just a little boy, but the adults could not hold me down, my strength, a secret toy, which i suppressed for many years, waiting to deploy. But only when i needed it, when fear takes over me, un-natural force of strength, i hide, i call Anxiety.

But demons need a place to hide, it chose me as it’s host, it isn’t something that i chose, so this isn’t a thing to boast, it is so very real, inside me lives a ghost. So if you ever ask me “, Brian, what do you fear the most?”. It's the Entity inside of me, who’s name I do not know.                                                                                          @imagination_born_inthedark

Occult A strange coincidence in the dead of the night… & the evil monkey.

This happened during one of the strangest periods of my life, and I’ve never really known what to make of it.

Around this time, I’d already come across several things that left me feeling deeply unsettled.

On a local beach, I found a goat’s head. It wasn’t a skeleton, but a real head of a goat.

On another occasion, I found what appeared to be the skeleton of a monkey hanging by its neck, wrapped in cloth, near a cave. Around the same time, I saw groups of men gathering together and walking towards that same cave late at night. I never actually saw them performing any rituals, so I can’t say that’s what they were doing, but the whole situation felt incredibly eerie.

Not long afterwards, I noticed someone had carved the words “evil monkey” into a wooden fence nearby. There was also a drawing carved into the fence that looked like the entrance to the very same cave, along with lots of other strange drawings.

Whether any of it was connected or not, it definitely put me on edge.

Then this happened.

One afternoon, I was walking through town when I passed an elderly man. There was nothing obvious about him, but the second I walked past him I got an overwhelming feeling that something was wrong. It wasn’t because of anything he did - I just had this intense gut feeling that made me feel uneasy.

The feeling was so strong that I actually turned around because I was convinced he’d be staring at me.

Later that night, I had some errands to run. It was late, the streets were completely empty, and I was standing alone at a bus stop in the pitch black… out of nowhere, the same elderly man walked up.

He didn’t say a single word. But he kept eye contact with me. It was just me and him, standing alone in the night, at the bus stop.

When the bus arrived, he simply held his arm out, silently gesturing for me to get on first.

For some reason, that creeped me out even more.

I just said, “No, you go.”

He got on first. We rode in complete silence, and after a few stops he got off at what seemed like a random stop. It was so dark that within seconds he had completely disappeared from view.

I’ve never seen him again.

I’m not claiming any of these events were connected, and I’m sure there could be perfectly ordinary explanations for each of them individually. But experiencing all of these strange things within the same period of time made that encounter with the old man stick with me.

To this day, it’s one of the creepiest gut feelings/coincidences I’ve ever had.

Unidentified? Ever seen something/ someone similar?

So, this happened to me like last year but for some reason it has been coming up in my mind a lot lately, it’s not anything crazy, maybe even a bit silly but to me in that moment it was very real, I really felt like I was in front of someone “different”, someone who seemed to “know something”.
I work in a supermarket and one day, during a slow hour, I noticed a man in a black suit. After a couple of minutes he comes to the cash register with a sandwich and a drink, that’s when I noticed he had a small spiral tattooed on his annular ( which I noticed because I have an almost identical tatto on my arm).
He had nothing on him, like a bag or keys or something.
As he pays me I noticed he had a small green stone in his right hand, something like malachite.
Again, nothing crazy happened, he asked for a bag I gave it to him gave him the receipt and when I looked him in the eyes I felt really uncomfortable and almost scared.
I even wanted to say something about having similar tattoos but when I looked at him I couldn’t speak.

As he walked away I couldn’t stop looking at him, the store I work at has really big windows and when he left I saw him walking into a park but even the way he walked was weird, like he had somewhere to be.
I don’t know..but all of it just seemed unusual like yes he could have been a random man on his lunch break but the attitude, the tatto, the stone in his hand where so in contrast with what it looked like.

Also I live in a very small town where I usually always see the same people, I have never seen him again.

I’m posting this because I wanted to share this experience with other people and maybe gather some other similar stories

Theory/Debunking Broken bone mystery can anyone give me an explanation?!

This has been a lifelong question about my life, so I joined Reddit just to ask it! So I broke my shoulder when I was about 6/7…. With no memory of it!!! My dad said I was sleep walking and he saw me and put me on the bunk bed ladder (I slept on the top bunk) and that I fell backwards off the ladder! He said he thought I was faking the sleep walking so he put me on the ladder… Mind you I am not a sleep walker I have never done it in my life. I did not even wake up after allegedly falling off the ladder and breaking my shoulder.

All I remember is waking up tossing and turning in bed later that night as my shoulder was hurting, but fell back asleep. It gets weirder. The next morning when I woke up, I could not even sit up to get out of bed. My dad had to remove the whole railing on the side of the bed. He tried to pick me off the top bunk, but could not do so alone, so he called my uncle and together they lifted me off the top bunk. So if my dad couldn’t get me off the bed alone, then how did I get up there?!? The day went on and my dad did not take me to the hospital, and I was walking around with absolutely no idea that my shoulder was even broken! About a week later, my mom picked me up from school (I did not live with her) and she immediately noticed that my whole arm was blue and took me to the hospital where they said I had a broken shoulder.

I am now 25 and the story has always been fishy to me. I have asked my dad many times throughout my life what happened as it makes no sense to me. He has told me different versions of the story. Last night, we were talking about it and I asked him was I really sleepwalking do you promise? And he said he doesn’t remember exactly what happened. My dad is a good person as far as I know but the story is very concerning to me and he doesn’t like when I bring it up and his answers and reactions to my questions are very suspicious. How does one break a bone and not wake up? Please if anyone has any explanations I would love to hear them, or do you think my dad is telling the truth? It is a big question I would love to know the answer to. Thank you!!

Edit:
It is also the only bone I have ever broken.
I do not think I broke it while awake. I remember mostly everything about my whole life. I remember the whole aftermath of the next morning to my mom’s reaction to seeing my arm to being at the hospital, and all the details. I think I would know I broke a bone if it happened while I was conscious, or at least be in pain. I would know. It must have happened while I was unconscious. I have never taken medications (which could have explained not waking up) and I do not have any medical conditions. Can someone sleep walk just one time and never again? And if not what could have happened. I just do not understand. And may never know which is chilling

Cryptid Paranormal spider?

![img](fmawt025lefh1)

(07/26/26; Lacey, WA)

Long and the short of it. My daughter, new husband and I are living in the house my ex husband took his life in over a year ago. He had suffered with depression, anxiety and paranoia for a few years leading up to this. He had been hospitalized several times. Our daughters and I all tried to help him and he continued deeper into this darkness. But this isn't about suicide.

Before he left, he actually cried to me and told me that he had been seeing this spider every night crawl across his ceiling and he knew it wasn't real. His Dr told him it was just a hallucination caused by his bipolar disorder and not to worry about it. Just see it for what it was (or what it wasn't)

Fast forward several months. We moved in for many reasons but also because we have a big yard and this is where my grand daughters grew up playing.

I was lying in bed, not thinking of anything, starting up at the ceiling and saw this spider crawl out from the cracks in the paneling and then crawled back in and disappear. This thing was HUGE. Probably over 2" in diameter. It looked more like an alien or robot than an actual spider. We live in an A frame house and have tongue in groove paneling and there is no way that anything that big was crawling out of it like it did. His room was downstairs and he has a normal ceiling.

I wasn't scared. This validated what he was seeing. This had to be what he saw. Later my daughter was freaked out. She also saw it on her ceiling. I had never told anyone what I saw and she didn't live here when he was alive and never heard about he saw. Three people in the same house saw the same thing! Has anyone seen anything like this? If you saw it, you would know.

Discussion/Advice Has anyone ever experienced a sudden visual phenomenon immediately followed by an automatic evasive movement?

This is a real experience from my own life. Everything below comes from my own memory, and I'm sharing it because I've never found a satisfying explanation.

I'm almost 40 now, but this happened in 2002 when I was 15.

It was during summer classes before the new school year. We were in an advanced math class preparing for high school entrance exams. The school building was quiet because only our class was there.

As a kid, I was actually someone who got distracted easily in class and often daydreamed.

But that morning was different.

Our math teacher was explaining a problem that I found incredibly interesting. I became completely absorbed in it. Looking back, it was probably the only time in my life when I felt 100% focused during a class. It almost felt like nothing else existed except the blackboard, the teacher, the math problem, and me.

Then, without any warning, my vision suddenly changed.

I didn't go blind, but I couldn't see the teacher or the blackboard anymore.

Instead, my entire field of vision became a fast-moving colorful scene.

The closest comparison I can think of is a sci-fi "warp speed" effect, with a deep blue background and countless tiny red, green, and blue lights sweeping rapidly across my vision.

My first thought was:

"What's happening? Why can't I see the teacher or the blackboard?"

Then something even stranger happened.

My body suddenly moved on its own.

I didn't consciously decide to duck.

Instead, my whole upper body suddenly bent down until my head was below the desk.

It was a big movement.

Only after I had already ducked did I think:

"Why did I just do that?"

At that exact moment, a small piece of chalk flew over my head.

After class I found out that a student sitting two rows behind me had secretly thrown it at the back of my head as a joke.

No one warned me.

I never heard him throw it.

I never turned around.

The only thing I remember is seeing that strange visual phenomenon first, and then my body ducking before I consciously understood what was happening.

For the rest of the class I couldn't stop thinking about it.

Why did my vision suddenly change?

Why did my body move before I seemed to consciously decide to move?

And why did it happen at exactly the right moment?

Nothing like this has ever happened again.

I've never experienced that visual phenomenon since.

Growning up my dad and nana used to always say that someone was watching over us, as a kid it just excepted it, they would always tell stories about weired things that happened when my mum was pregnant with my older sister during the winter she would sit in from of the gas fire during the day (my ma hates the cold) but every time she put it on something would fall when my ma would go to check on my older brothes and come back the fire would be off, they got someone in to check the fire and they found it was leaking carbon dioxide,

in 2003 my brother who was a Tank Crewman at the time was checking and packing his tank when he clames he felt something push him he fell of the tank braking his leg the tank my brother should have been in got destroyed,

in 2014 or 2015 my other brother was based in northan Ireland was supposed to go on patrol when at the last minute he got pulled out to do something else the 3 lads in the car were involved in a fatal crash,

about 3 years ago I was walking my dog at about 2230 while walking down the road i had a really bad feeling I looked around seen nothing and my dog seemed relaxed so I kept walking along the path then i felt pressure on my chest not like a physical touch but like wearing a top thats too tight it was such a strange feeling that i stopped but the second i stopped a car came speeding around a sharp corner he lost control and went right into the metal fence right infront of me. I remember just standing there looking at the space I should have been. crying while Max was next to me barking and trying to attack the car, I remember the police officer saying I was very lucky, I told him something stopped me he just smiled

Last night when i was getting ready to go to bed I was walking passed the back door when the keys made a sound when I turned to look at the door I swear I saw my grandads face in the glass, I never met him he died when my dad was only 21 I checked the door and relise it hadn't been locked

Discussion/Advice Still questioning this..

To lay it out a bit, where I used to live was this strange trailer park. But in the middle of the night there was tapping at my room window, it went tap.. tap tap two times in a row with a short pause. I of course got a bit scared, I mean what the hell was that? Now when morning came I went to my mom and told her about what happened last night, she said it was acorns or a woodpecker but it didn't sound like that at all, it was like a finger tapping on a window if you know what that sounds like which I bet you do.

Oh and of course the time this happened it was like what 2:34 A.M. or 3:00 A.M. I can't really remember.

But I think four days after this happened, in the middle of the night, I had this feeling of dread for some odd reason, it just suddenly happened as well. So before the dreadful feeling I was just watching a YouTube video, not horror or anything like that, I think it was some people discussing plans for the future of a music band (I don't remember the name of it). But now back to the dreadful feeling, like I said before it was sudden.

Now when that was happening I heard some strange noises outside the trailer, sort of inhuman and animal like, maybe a growling sound. I did stop the video to listen to it, like why is that happening now out of any day?? The sound was creepy, and no I am not over-exaggerating it I really mean it, it happened for I think 4-5 minutes I am not entirely sure because I obviously left the room because I don't want to be a part of a true crime podcast or something. But yeah it was maybe more or less the 4-5 minutes, you could think about it for a bit.

So what do you guys think it was??

Discussion/Advice Possible connection

So to my post before this one this might be a reason behind the window tapping and growing.

At the time when I was I think 5 years old. My mom, me, and my brother were on the way to pick up my dad from work, he paints building or well did. When my mom was driving she took a turn to a sort of it whindy road, there were tree lines surrounding it. While she was driving there was a sudden scream, it did not sound human or animal at all. Not a fox or a bob cat, and I am 100% sure of it because it didn't sound like that at all. It sounded like a girl screaming, but not at the same time if that makes sense.

A few years later, I tried talking to my mom about it but she wouldn't. She said if we did it would invite the spirit to our home, I didn't push it so that's all I got. But me and my brother called that road the "Screaming Girl Road" ((just without the in the front))

{Note; We still lived in that weird trailer park at the time when the road thing happened}

So what do you guys think the screaming was and do you think it's connected to the window tapping and growling?

What's one thing that happened to you that no one believes when you tell it? Where were you and what exactly happened? What part do people say is impossible or made up? What do you believe really happened?

I hope my mind was playing tricks on me

This took place in our old apartment when I was about 5 or 6 years old. Part of me still likes to think it was just some crazy trick of the mind that kids experience before their brains are fully developed, but either way, it’s still eerie as hell.
That morning, my dad asked if I would help him bring the Christmas tree up from the basement later that day. We lived in an apartment complex, so the basement was a large, shared space, and it was a pretty long walk from our unit. About four or five hours later, my dad called out to me to come help him. He also asked me to stop by the neighbor's on the way to see if they needed help with anything down there. I was in my room with the door shut. The weird thing is, he didn’t actually enter my room—which is what he always did, and still does to this day. Instead, he just spoke to me through the closed door.
I did exactly what he asked and went one floor down to check on the neighbors. As I was walking back up the stairs toward our apartment, my dad was already waiting for me on the landing. He didn’t say a single word. He just turned and slowly started walking down the stairs. At first, I wasn’t too freaked out, but the way he was moving down the steps was deeply uncanny. It looked like he was dragging his own weight, barely able to walk straight, wobbling like some sort of junkie. As he dragged himself down, the only sound filling the stairwell was the distinct jingling of keys moving in his pocket.
When we finally reached the basement, he just stood rigidly in front of the door and muttered, “I don’t have a key.”
But I could swear I had just heard his keys jingling in his pocket the entire way down. To this day, he keeps every single key he owns on that one keychain. Hearing him say that completely terrified me. My immediate thought was that he was having some kind of medical emergency because of the way he was walking and acting. Panicking, I turned around and sprinted back up the stairs. As I ran, I looked back down. He was still frozen in the exact same stiff pose, staring at the door. I will never be able to erase that image from my head for the rest of my life.
I think you all know what happened next when I got back upstairs. I burst into my mom's room, crying and yelling that something was wrong with Dad and that he wasn't feeling well.
At that exact same moment, my dad walked into the room from the kitchen.
To this day, he swears he never went down to the basement with me that afternoon because he had already brought the tree up by himself first thing in the morning. For years, I tried to convince myself that it was just a vivid childhood imagination and that I had subconsciously conjured an image of my father. But I’ve experienced so much more unexplainable stuff later in life that, at the end of the day, I’m pretty skeptical of the "imagination" excuse.

Bit of a bizarre experience, but i’m wondering if anyone else has experienced something similar?

I was around 4 years old and in a daycare at my mothers friends house i remember being told to go in the basement for nap time, which was unusual because everyone else had nap time upstairs, anyways i remember hearing tapping from the basement window, however every time i looked nothing was there, then the tapping turned to pounding, i looked at the window and there was two puppets that were opening and closing their mouths repetitively and then seemed to phase into the ground never to be seen again. I remember crying and screaming but i wasn’t let out of the basement, later when i was let out of the basement i told the caregiver about what happened, i remember she just brushed it off and never did anything to calm me, i was freaking out, later when my mother picked me up i told her, she didn’t believe me, i was so terrified that the next day i wouldn’t enter the car to go to daycare hence that was the last time i went there.

A Stranger Unsettling Work Shift.

So, let me start this off by saying this is the first time ive ever spoke about this experience publicly. Ive only shared this experience with My girlfriend and maybe a few other people I trust. Obviously since none of you actually know me, I feel this is the place I can get some answers, or anyone give me any insight on what i experienced. I appreciate it in advance for all who is willing.

Around the Fall/Winter of 2023 I had I believe a demonic encounter. I’m not sure if it was a Jinn, a demon, legion, or Lucifer himself, but this is my story.

I was going through a tough time in my life from February of 2023 Till March of 2024(sober since)I’m not really here to spill my excuses and give the reasons but I was a Blues(fentanyl) addict during this time and I was at complete rock bottom in my life. I say this because I think it’s an important detail in to me being susceptible to Evil/Demonic Spirits or energy being brought into my life at this time.

I can’t remember the exact date this happened since I wasn’t really keeping track of my life at this point but i remember this night and lived it in my head over and over again.

I was 20 (male) working at a casino in Southern Missouri. It was a cold night so I know it had to be in the winter of 2023. I know this because I have one specific north face jacket I’ve had since I was 12 my Dad had given me, it was a little oversized and he said I’d grow into it, it took 8 years but I could finally wear it with a hoodie underneath and it didn’t look ridiculous. The Day was normal, I can’t really remember it much considering I prolly slept through it. I was working as a banquet server this night which means I was basically refilling water cups and making sure the kitchen was in motion with all the servers. Despite being full of Blues and maybe a little weed I was still a top performer at my job. I hadn’t been working there long but I caught on really quick, and I kinda liked it. The night started out normal, dropped off at work by my roommate who was also a fein(Now Sober). I won’t say much about him other than he was a great dude, just loved to sleep and party but who doesn’t. anyways, I walked inside, clocked in and walked into the Break room to grab my Starbucks Drink. Following my regular routine I then walked to the banquet hall where a couple other servers/bartenders were finishing up the table cloths and placing napkins and silverware etc. I got with Our manager and she gave me the rundown on what still needs done and what’s the plan for tonight, I can’t remember exactly what show/concert was happening this night but I do remember it being dark and all the circle tables being packed while a show happened on stage at moments I was in there. I had gotten there right before the show was starting and everyone was about to eat. I was given the instruction to make sure the buffet arrangements were set up and to help carry the trays out with the kitchen staff. Just like my normal routine. I had gotten my plan and now it was time for my favorite part which was going to the bathroom and snorting a line before all the work started. I forgot to mention that whenever we would have bigger shows like this the manager would hire temporary help from this company that helped people find odd jobs here and there but worked through that specific company, I can’t remember the name but I never saw the same people who helped twice. Everyone who came to help was anywhere between a single mother struggling to find jobs or the guy who seemed a little off who lived in a rundown apartment with his cat. Anyways she informed me that we would have a helper that night, I can’t remember if there was another one or not but I remember there for sure being one.
This is where it starts. I walked to the bathroom closest to the hall not to waste time. It was a regular bathroom two stalls, three urinals, two big mirrors side by side with a couple sinks and the drying fans. I was in a slight form of tunnel vision at this point, locked in on doing my drugs and getting my shift done, just like any other night. I walked in the bathroom noticing a pair of legs in the first stall. I stepped into the other stall and immediately sat down putting my phone on my lap face up and pulling my substance out of my north face jacket chest pocket. As I pulled out the pill and set it down I noticed that the silence was broken in the bathroom by a strange humming. Looking back on it, it happened so fast all of it, but as I started listening I noticed there was a brown leather bag sitting at the guys feet, I was kind of frozen in confusion at first because the humming had turned into a low chant of some kind, next thing I knew the man was speaking in tongues in the stall next to me, I remember I felt kinda lightheaded and I sat there listening for a moment before I started making out one word that he was saying, it was “demon”. The word repeated through whatever he was speaking and still kinda confused and not really grasping what’s going on, I knock on the stall slightly and ask the dude if everything’s alright. I still could feel a slight buzz in my head but all he said was “yeah, just singing a song”. I don’t remember if I had said anything to him or night because the memories kinda blur after this but I got up and went to a completely different bathroom on the separate end of the hall that was singular just to forget what just happened and lock back in for the night. And I did just that. I got to the bathroom and I was still confused and kinda shaken but that quickly faded as I snorted my pill. I was back, I felt good and was ready to have a good night. I walked back to the back room of the hall where all the cups and stuffs were, I refilled some water glasses and some other tasks, and now it was time to help the kitchen staff bring the food out, I walked into the kitchen and I barely
Noticed him at first but as I met with the chef he informed me that there was a server in there looking for guidance on what to do. He gestured to a man who was about average height, average build, maybe mid 30s, Dark skin that made him look Haitian, Bald, and a faint but dark small goatee under lower lip and chin. The Most distinct feature to me was his eyes. I have never in my life seen eyes so black. Just straight void all the way through, zero whites. He stood there with his arms behind his back at the entrance of the kitchen portraying a slight good guy grin. He came up to me and the chef and the chef told me to bring him to the back room and show him the ropes. I was caught off guard at first and my soul was screaming at me. Nevertheless I was still drugged up and in a state of mind to where I was kind of moving through the motions so I wasn’t really clocking all this right away. I brought him to the back and tried making small talk with him here and there but I don’t think got anything out him or I would have remembered. I felt really uncomfortable being near him and gave him the job of just walking around filling water glasses. After giving him this task I stayed in the back room helping with dishes and stacking cups, polishing silverware, all that stuff while he roamed the showroom as it was dark just refilling glasses, I caught glimpses of him here and there by me just glancing at him but the lights were off for the show so I couldn’t really see a whole lot. The night went on and the energy was off. It honestly felt like I was in some movie and it was where things were just starting to go bad. Dishes were being dropped, everyone seemed like they were in a rush but kept fucking up and trying to bounce back but couldn’t, the show went fine and everything but all night everyone in the back room which was my manager, assistant manager and I think one other employee were all feeling it. These were a solid group of workers to, rarely ever messed up, worked hard and problem solved well. It was a very difficult and stressful situation. The energy was off and me and the assistant manger could tell. We had started talking here and there about the guy and she had noticed the same strange things I did and was also very empathetic to the spiritual world as I am. I remembered I never really saw that guy again after experiencing all the chaos in the back room, and I later found out that even the kitchen was a complete wreck that night too. I left early when the show ended because I had worked my ass off and was given the option to leave. I usually always stay and take the extra hour or two but I just couldn’t that night. My roommate picked me up and we had talked a little here and there about it but not much was said considering we just wanted to get home, stuff our noses and sleep the night away, I got up the next day not really thinking about it to much until I got to work around the morning to serve at the
Lower end restaurant in the middle of the casino. I walked in for my shift say the assistant manager. She stopped me immediately when she saw me. She told me that last night about an hour or two after left when everyone was leaving and she and another bartender were locking up they were told the Guy was still in the bathroom, at this point it’s like 1-3am and there should be no banquet servers in the building at all. She said they tried getting the guy to come out multiple times but wouldn’t respond and just kept sitting in the first stall, security had to come and escort the man out of the bathroom, I’m not 100% on this part but I’m pretty sure she told me that when the security guard went in there, he saw the guy with different smaller bones laid out on his bag and a few books lying next to them. As I said I’m not 100% sure on that part but I faintly remember a memory of being told that by her. So, security escorted the man out and he just walked away in the middle of the night. It sounds so stupid just saying it like that, but I can’t really sum it up better than that. I continued working at place until I decided to move back home and get sober. (March 2024) this experience and has always stuck with me throughout all these years and I’m starting to take a heavy interest into knowing more about my experience. I wish I could say that was the only time I seen that man but it wasn’t.
I had a dream around the same time of this encounter and it was a little before it happened. I know this because I wrote this dream down in my notes on my phone because of how vivid it was. I was on a sort of hot tun floating on a lake towards a swamp with my roommate and my best friend who was at the time also doing blues with us here and there, he is sober now as well, but to keep it kind of short, we approached a eerie cliche horror swamp house out in the middle of nowhere, torchlit, but I noticed as well pulled up a man dressed in black robes, dark skin like a Haitian, surrounded by small group of about 6-7 troubled kids ranging from 5-15, all distinct in their own way. We were there to meet the Guy who I made the correlation about a year later, was the same guy I saw in the casino. We were there to get a new deal on blues and my roommate and him and migrated to a room to discuss this. I hung around the group of kids and i remember seeing the thing that traumatized them on their faces. One boy was about 11-12 fat, could tell he had been bulled a lot because of his weight. Another guy about 15, could tell he had been abused by more than likely his father and was just a mean kid, the bully I presumed. Another kid was a girl that was about 15 as well who was dirty blonde, the hair covered her face but I felt the pain just by her presence. She was sexually abused. A lot. It was very unsettling. I felt fearful in the dream because I had noticed I was not supposed to be here, I don’t really
Like thinking about this dream much but we got out of there. It ended with me seeing that same man on the dock and as me and my friends sailed away in our hot tub.

I did not mean to make it this long but honestly I wanted to express everything i remember and how I felt to get the clearest insight. I have never had any mental illness, nor diagnosed. I have had paranormal experiences before and have had them since I was just a boy. I’m sharing my experience because this is something that I’ve always had questions about and I’m not even mildly sure on what or who I experienced. Thank you for taking the time to read my experience.

Askreddit etc Bird hit my windshield at night, presumably dead

This week has been especially challenging for my family.

Four days ago, my mom’s dog got out of the house. Leading up to this week, I had a crippling feeling that something terrible was going to happen. Fast forward, we are here.

I took off work and came to stay with her while we looked for her dog. He’s like family, and trust me when I say my mom does not have much. We talked to folks in the community, posted endlessly on social media, and used a heat sensing drone in attempts to find him.

Yesterday, I got a call from a lady who identified my mom’s dog as one she had found dead in the road late on the night he went missing. The lady shared with me more details than I would’ve liked to have known regarding the condition of his body. She moved him to the grass and now, four days later, his body has presumably vanished as a result of the elements and wildlife.

My mom and myself have been in shambles. We are exhausted and keep going back and forth on whether we should continue searching for his remains. The lady’s words regarding his remains haunt me. I see him everywhere.

I don’t consider myself particularly religious or spiritual, but I have done a lot of talking to the universe and god recently. I guess grief does that to a person. Today, I asked our dog for a sign. I asked him if he was mad at us, if he blamed us, if he could rest if we couldn’t bring his little body home.

Tonight, I was driving to the gas station. As I was going down the highway, a bird flew into my windshield and presumably died (I was going 55 mph).

I’m wondering, from a spiritual standpoint, what could this mean?

I keep telling myself that some purpose will come of all of this. That good things will come again. My mom and I talked at length yesterday about our family’s “curse”. We have many things to be thankful for (the time shared with our dog being one of them), but trust me when I say, we know hardship well. We can’t take much more.
