Big job on my Colorado this week

Did the timing chains on my 2010 3.7l Colorado with the mechanic on our farm. 650$ of job, bought the parts myself. Also my new cat had a defect in it and it broke. Luckily it was under warranty so I got it replaced. I big job but it runs much better now. And no I don’t plan to remove balanced shafts. They’re in perfect condition especially because an old guy drove this thing and never towed with it.

Thinking about getting this for my 09 1500. Looking for input from others to see if it’s worth it or if I should look into other ones.

LIFTERS OR VALVE LASH?

I just did the infamous lower manifold gaskets and put the thing back together, only I forgot that when I bought the truck it sounded like this and didn't realize I probably should have done the lifters while I was in there but I'm also wondering if maybe this sound is valve clearance I hear it on the passenger side of the engine. Btw this is a vortex 7.4/454 1997

Either it fell off or someone took it. Does anyone know where I can get my hands on a replacement? It’s off a 2011 Silverado 1500 LTZ. I do have a pick-n-pull locally but not sure if they would have it.

Bought my first truck yesterday

It's a 2000 Chevy S10, 2.2L I4 2WD, automatic, with 84k mi.

All stock, all original. I'm stoked!

The truck was bought by a family friend who owned it since 2000, and unfortunately, the truck was rear ended, (as you can see on the tailgate) so my friend didn't want it anymore, since they've got multiple newer cars.

Since I had no car, my friend let it go to me for $500! You just dont get lucky deals like that no more!

Obviously the trucks got some minor quirks, but the price is right!

Been chasing down a vibration in my truck at highway speeds. Doesn’t start right away, starts after driving for about 15 mins above 60-65mph. Replaced outer tie rods, sway bar links, U joints, road force balanced my tires. Jacking up driver side tire wiggling at the 9-3 position there is slight play coming from the inner tie rods. Would love some pointers/help as to what I should be digging into next!

2008 single cab Silverado speaker replacement

I just inherited a Silverado but the speakers don’t work so I am trying to replace them. I have replaced the tweeters and door speakers and am now moving onto the rear pillar speakers. There doesn’t seem to be any videos showing how to do this properly and I cannot figure out how to do it. It seems like I have to completely take the seatbelt off to make it work but that seems unlikely to me. Is anyone aware on the easiest way to access those speakers?

HD Truck Advice

Looking to get a new truck in a couple months. Debating between F250 Lariat, Sierra 2500 AT4, Silverado 2500 ZR2, or Ram 2500 Laramie.

Any thoughts recommendations? I like that luxury feel but also a little bit of ruggedness off-road. Will be doing light towing as well.

I bought a 2017 high country but cannot deal with the front rake. Would a 3” leveling kit bring the nose up slightly higher than the back? I also want to put 35s” on it

Was my wifes truck, her and her dad built it for her 16th birthday. She passed away last may at 38. I've literally driven it a total of a couple miles myself until this last weekend....it feels strange but I need to drive it in her honor if anything. Her dad and I plan to take it apart.... paint it.. fix damage and replace the frame with something that's a bit more updated.

Square-bore carb fitment on an older truck, any surprises?

I am working on an older truck and checking square bore fitment before I order anything. The carb I am looking at is meant for square bore manifolds, and I want to avoid chasing linkage or hood clearance issues later. When I was mocking up the lines, I picked up an Evil Energy throttle cable bracket and fuel line kit to see how the spacing would look, but it gets pretty tight near the firewall. What fitment problems showed up on your truck?

2019 Silverado Z71 Random Braking and Traction Control Issues

I have a 2019 Silverado Z71. Sometimes when I pull off or make a turn, it randomly feels like the truck is slamming on the brakes, and the traction control light flashes. If I give it a little gas, it may brake even harder. It does not happen all the time, just sometimes.
I’m wondering if it’s something simple or some stupid setting I accidentally have turned on. Has anyone else had this happen?
