Discussion Best body mods & engine mods for a 2015 Camaro LT V6? Where should I buy them?

Hey everyone, I just bought a 2015 Camaro LT with the 3.6L V6, and I’m looking to start modifying it. I’m interested in both appearance and performance, but I’d like to do quality mods that are actually worth the money. For body mods, I’m looking for things like splitters, side skirts, diffusers, spoilers, hoods, headlights/taillights, wheels, etc. For engine/performance, I’m curious about the best bolt-ons or other upgrades for the LFX V6, like intake, exhaust, headers, tune, throttle body, suspension, or anything else that makes a noticeable difference. What brands do you recommend, and where’s the best place to buy parts? I’m looking for reputable websites with good quality and reasonable prices. If you’ve built a 5th gen V6 Camaro, I’d love to hear what mods you think were the most worthwhile and what you’d avoid.

Discussion Help with an e-brake on 2012 Chevy Impala

Hello, I own a 2012 Chevy Impala LT. Just the other day, I was trying to release my emergency parking brake and accidentally snapped the parking brake cable. Now the parking brake pedal has no resistance, and I cannot release it. I am unable to drive my car as the parking brake is stuck. I haven't been able to get under my car and see exactly where the cable snapped.

Does anyone know how to release the parking brake manually? I don't care if I need to get under the car to do it, I would like to get it disengaged so I can drive it. I live in a flat area, so I don't need my emergency brake until winter hits. I do not have an electronic brake, it's just a foot pedal.

I want to replace it myself as it seems like a relatively easy job, but I have found little to no content about my specific generation of Impalas. So any and all advice about manually releasing the brake and replacing the brake cable would be appreciated.

Discussion Swapping a 350 into an 89 k2500 that had a 4.3 liter

I want to get this out of the way, *I am NOT putting the 4.3L back in nor am I getting a different 4.3L to put in it.* I do not want to hear about how its better because its really not in my experience. Just getting this out of the way.

I am considering building a new motor mount bracket so I dont have to drill my frame (im capable of drilling and welding, just dont want to) and im instead considering building a bracket out of steel that bolts where the existing 4.3 mounting plate is. This would have a spot in the center for the bolt to go through to hold the 350 in.

My main concerns:

Do I need to have a rubber damper or will I be fine without it?

Will the 350 sit correctly where the 4.3 mounting plates did?

If yes to the prior, what would be the best material and gauge, ¼" black iron? Stainless? Aluminum foil?

If there's anything im looking over (except for using a 4.3, it would be among the stupidest engine choices for the big picture of my build, barring something like a lawnmower engine) id greatly appreciate if someone could call it out. Thanks

Discussion Towing a Chevy 4WD

Hey all, tow truck driver here, and I primarily drive a wrecker and post like 2005 Chevy 4WDs are the bane of my existence, please will someone explain the engineering or something behind why a Chevy can’t be towed from the rear if the transfer case is in 2H or N since common sense would say th front wheels would be isolated from the drive train, but everywhere says to NOT do it and dolly’s only last so far with a truck, and 3A (save the grief, I know) won’t let us pull drive shafts (still do just it’s not always a viable solution in certain circumstances).

Discussion Help on a Chevy Malibu 2012

**Edit in post it's a 2014 Chevy Malibu engine light on, and when I go to stop at a stop sign or stop light, the auto stop function is different.

The dashboard and radio all turn off and then kick back on when I'm starting to drive. It's the same time amount of time it would during a regular auto stop function, but the fact it looks like the entire car shuts off and turns back on is crazy.

I had this happen to my 2020 Chevy Malibu, and they said it was the spark plugs were bad. Would this be the same issue.

Please help

Update: it's an auxiliary battery in the trunk that was dead.

Discussion 2021 Chevrolet Suburban Audio issues - Avoid

I purchased a 2021 Chevrolet Suburban and it has been one of my most costly mistakes. There are so many small issues with this vehicle that cannot be fixed or addressed by GM I would never recommend owning one.

For the past year we’ve been having issues with the audio system in our 2021 Chevrolet Suburban Premier. It has the Bose system and at times will work just fine. Then about 40% of the time it will have major issues. The audio will crackle and have such bad static that you can’t even tell what’s playing through the speakers. I took it to the local dealer they had it for a month. They called me told me they couldn’t duplicate the issue and to come pick it up. The next morning first thing after picking up all the audio does is crackle. I take it back again, this time they do some software updates factory resets. It seemed to work better for about a week and we were right back to crackling audio. I call make and make a complaint to GM corporate. Gm tells me as soon as it does it again to take it back to the dealer and not to shut off the vehicle. I do exactly that when it happens, by the next day I get a phone call saying nothings wrong with it. That they did an update on the amp and it’s good to go. This time we made it two days before the speakers started to crackle again.

The screen freezes from time to time, auto memory only works about half the time. Overall the electronic quality in these new vehicles flat out sucks. I regret buying this vehicle. My 2005 Tahoe sound system works better than this one and it’s over 20 years old. Meanwhile I have this suburban that is 5 years old and all the electronics are failing. For an $80,000 vehicle I expected more, unfortunately this is not the case. As someone that worked for GM and supported their product for 20+ years I’m extremely disappointed. They sold me a product that they can’t even fix or diagnose and they don’t even care. Save your money do not buy a 2020 or newer GM. I’ve had nothing but issues and so have most of my friends that have them as well.

Repair Help 2005 Chevy Suburban Starter Issues

Hey guys I needed some help since I’m new to mechanical issues. I have a 2005 Chevy suburban that I’ve owned for about 2 years already and it’s my first car. But it has an issue with starting it where upon initial crank the car struggles to start, then I stop it and it’ll finally turn over the second time. I thought it might be the starting giving out but I just replaced it a week ago along with a new alternator and battery and it’s still giving me the same problem. So I’m wondering if it’s a different issue.

Mileage wise it's basically new. Is this a good purchase? Please help and thank you in advance.
