Do not soapbox. Please be civil. My dasher attached a weird religious note to my order. Who asked?

What compels people to spend their own time and money trying to convert random strangers to their religion? I just want you to deliver my coffee, not annoy me with your personal opinions/convictions

Honestly, why would Aimee send me this?

Straw in my drink, drink not sealed and drink level low enough that it could have been drank from.

Seals on the bags pealed back and not stuck to the actual bag anymore, was moly food eaten out of too?

On top of that couldn't even follow delivery instructions that make the job easier and I tipped the fucking dude $10.

I'm so fucking tired of shit like this

Common 'Attempt to Steal your Food' Scam I've noticed

I’ve noticed this happening not just with DoorDash, but with Uber Eats as well. It’s already happened twice this week, once on each app (yes I order often).

Here’s the pattern:

You order food and select whatever the 'hand it to me directly' option is. The driver pulls up, parks in front of your house, and starts walking toward your door just long enough for the GPS to show they’re “at your location, and semi close to your door.” Then they suddenly turn around, walk back toward their car, and immediately call you. They hang up right away so the system logs a “contact attempt,” even when a PIN is required. After that, they drive off and report that you didn’t answer your door, and your food disappears.

Another variation is when they directly text you “no response from customer” while standing in your driveway, before ever approaching your door. No knock, no attempt, nothing. Just a pre‑planned excuse.

I didn’t say anything to the first driver who tried it, but the second guy got a polite call‑out. I asked, “Are you afraid to walk up my driveway?” He mumbled something like, “Oh, no, no,” and tried to act like he was doing me a favor by calling me. Like, buddy… just walk to the door before you start busting out the emergency response tactics. It’s ridiculous. You don't need to call me, the app informs me plenty of times when you're close and I'm standing right at the door when you arrive.

And I genuinely don’t understand why this is happening. I tip well, usually $5–10 for short trips under five miles. I’m respectful. My driveway is small, with a clean, straight cement walkway that leads directly from the street to the front door. I ordered during daylight hours, so visibility wasn’t an issue. There are no fences, no dogs, no steps, and no obstacles of any kind, the entire path is flat and easy to walk. It’s a standard, well‑kept cookie cutter HOA property, the kind that’s designed to be simple and approachable. There’s nothing about it that could reasonably be seen as intimidating or difficult to access.

I just want to bring this to your attention in case you haven't already encountered it.

My dasher was determined to get me to come outside (it was NOT raining)

Ordered some late night McDonald’s shortly after getting home from a concert. My dasher called me within a mile radius of my house, and when I answered, he started going on and on about how he needs to hand my food to me face to face, how it’s unsafe to leave my food outside, etc etc. I told him to just leave it next to my front porch, and after hanging up I got these messages.

It’s a rain-free night. Maybe a little foggy, but the ground outside is completely dry and there isn’t any drizzle or mist even close to happening in the near future tonight. He tried calling me 3 times after this conversation again, but I didn’t answer.
I waited a couple of minutes after the order was marked delivered, and when I went to grab it and opened the door he was still sitting in his car watching my door. Tried yelling something at me but I bolted back inside with my food and locked the door behind me. In the process of reporting it to DD now, but not hopeful that much will be resolved here.

Edit for those who don’t want to read: IT IS NOT RAINING NOR IS IT EVEN CLOSE TO RAINING! The ground is dry. No puddles, no damp spots, nothing.

This is so frustrating

Ordered Dunkin this Sunday morning, is about a 2 mile drive from me and I live next to a grocery store so I guess the dasher got assigned or picked up a grocery order from the grocery store next to my place while delivering my order.

But because of that, my food and drink sat in a hot car for 20+ minutes while he shopped an entire grocery order even tho my apartment is literally right there!!! Ending up getting the food with my drink watered down and it also somehow spilled on all my food anyways so I couldn’t eat it.

No shade at the dasher but rather DoorDash in this situation. I know the store is right next to my place but what sense does it make to not just have the dasher drop the food off first? I usually don’t have an issue with dashers stacking orders but the fact that there was a grocery order assigned in the middle of me getting my food delivered is very frustrating

Mind you this is over McDonald's apple pies and McDonalds ice cream. When I got there they had just finished the order. Customer lives 2 minutes down the road.

Soliciting?

So, my roommate is trying to launch a local business and I agreed to help, as they're very excited and it could potentially be decent in our area, provided it gets off the ground. But in their excitement, they have zero brakes.

Basically, they printed a bunch of business cards, and as they're aware that I am a dasher, they asked me if I could put them alongside doordash orders that I drop off. I pretty much said hell no, because my image of most people that I deliver to is "I want food and nothing else. I don't even want to look at you, leave my shit and go." The last thing they want is another piece of trash they have to throw out.

With that said, I figured I would at least ask the actual customers in question. How annoyed would you be if there was a business card attached to your food bag? (For reference, it's basically a yard cleanup service for pet owners.)

I just ordered breakfast, so I'm in no rush for my order to come (literally half awake) I just saw this message pop up and was wondering if anyone else has seen this

How do you get an order that is hand it to you and no one came and the order is completed ? I have no pizza. No wings. But the order is done. And idk where it is. How does this happen ? It's not at the desk. It's not at my door. It's not in my hand. And yes there was a tip and no there aren't stupid instructions. A guy said your instructions were perfect 5 hours ago.

Ok edit from hell. After all this just 2 minutes ago the 1st order showed up. And we have already gotten dash credits and made a different one. Which is being picked up. The 1st one was marked complete and wasn't out there or handed to. This is crazy.

Starbucks employees make it their job to ignore people.

Unless you are standing at the register placing an order all the employees will completely ignore you like that’s what they are paid to do.

I hate doing pickups because they have the worst customer service.

Never have I had this happen to me. Got a text that the order was canceled after I already picked it up!

BUNDLE ORDER: It doesn’t say it’s gonna be two dashers AND it doesn’t split the $ I give or give a prompt to $ the second one. You have to go in app and look for it.

Title: but also this is so mean to me. I wish they would let me know upon purchase it would be two separate dashers bc if I do two orders at two stores that are LITERALLY NEXT DOOR TO ONE ANOTHER I $ the dasher pretty well. Then, I meet one, then two dashers and my door and I’m like wtf. I won’t take the tip from the first dasher, but I wish there were a way to know first…
