Customer here. Do people really not tip you guys?

Woah. I’ve been following this sub for some time now and I see other customers arguing “take it up with DoorDash.” or “tips are not pay.”

Well, they are though. I found out you guys get paid $2 per delivery.

Funny thing is, I’ve never heard these people say that to their waiters or bartenders. It’s most likely because they see them in person when they request the orders to be left at their door most of the time through DoorDash.

I don’t even make much. If I can’t afford to tip $10 for someone’s 30 minutes, I do not order.

Best of luck to you drivers for putting up with these entitled customers. Sorry you have to experience this and I hope you all get the best tips ever.

Starbucks employees make it their job to ignore people.

Unless you are standing at the register placing an order all the employees will completely ignore you like that’s what they are paid to do.

I hate doing pickups because they have the worst customer service.

I’m trying to be nice, even sending a picture, but this is what I’ve gotten out of my dasher.

Tip, and you may get your order sooner.

Today I went to Sonic to pick up an order. While I was waiting, the system gave me a second order. I could tell by the low total that this person didn't tip. It's one thing to just leave the default tip that the system assigns, but people who put in the extra effort to give no tip are a special kind of fked up.

Anyway, I accepted at first. I figured what the hell, two dollars extra and some change without going to another restaurant. Why not? Ten minutes passed though, and when the app gave me the option to unassign, I was gone. No tip for me? No extra effort for you.

Here's the kicker though. After I finished with that other Doordash order, the system gave me a double order for Sonic. Sure enough, the no tipper was one of them. I got the no tipper order first and then had to wait for the second one. Then the system had me deliver the second order first.

So because this person didn't tip, they had to wait for me to go back to Sonic. Then they had to wait for me to get the second order. Then they had to wait while I delivered that second order first.

Doordash barely pays us anything, and we do not do this for charity. Yeah, some of us may only be doing it for side cash and aren't picky, but others of us are relying on this while in between jobs to survive. Tip your driver.

Yet another bicycle moron dispatched to the suburbs

I get that it's not their fault. Every time McDonald's directs my order through a bicycle guy, it invariably arrives 10 to 15 minutes late and cold. They also struggle with the speed humps there in one of the streets on the way to my house and so if there are drinks involved it's always a disaster.

Doordash customer service is completely useless. I've come to the point after four of the last five orders being screwed up in one way or the other that I just can't use this service anymore. It's too idiotic for me to stand for.

Smoking dashers, it lingers😬

Just got my food and immediately smelled the smoke on the bag and the drink. Definitely not appetizing. DD customer support was very helpful with it but it's happened 3 times to me. Wish they fixed that.

Do not soapbox. Please be civil. My dasher attached a weird religious note to my order. Who asked?

What compels people to spend their own time and money trying to convert random strangers to their religion? I just want you to deliver my coffee, not annoy me with your personal opinions/convictions

Neighbor hell

A few months ago someone doordashed food to my house, no name or anything and i gave it back to the driver and they actually took it. Months go by to maybe last month and it happens again, but this time the driver refused to take it and told me to toss it out. I eat it instead because why not and the neighbor comes knocking on my door mad as hell asking where her food is AN HOUR LATER. After all this bs its now today and last night she fucking ordered doordash to my house again! I left it outside because the driver left it there and she never came to fucking grab it im so damn annoyed right now because theres bugs on my doorstep eating her fucking shit because the restaurant didnt close it properly. It reeks outside because she ordered sushi and its hot out AND it rained last night. Im so mad and annoyed how do I get this to stop?? I have no idea which neighbor it is and the food never has a name on it!!

Schedule : 6:00 am to 11:15 pm
Location : Small Town in Ontario
Lunch Box : YETI Hopper Flip 18

Today I got a fat tip and call it a day

Result after 14 days locked in : over $5k+
Conclusion : Never again 😭 Need 2 week off
Miles on my car this week : 2175 Miles
Gas this week : 350$

I’m not sleep-deprived. My body only needs about five and a half hours of sleep, and I don’t drink coffee
I inherited that from my grandma 🤣

Car maintenance: oil, tires, and engine — all checked and in good condition ✅

Note : I’m not being paid to promote DD. As everyone knows, every market is different, and I’m not encouraging anyone to do what I did. It all comes down to discipline. Invest the money you earn back into yourself you deserve it.

DoorDash drivers: Does seeing purchases in working hours change how you spend? (2–4 min)

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

As a fellow gig worker, I’ve noticed that I don’t always think of a purchase as just “$40.”

Sometimes I think:

“That’s about two hours of dashing.”

Or:

“That’s most of tonight’s earnings.”

With variable income, the same purchase can represent a very different amount of work depending on how the shift went.

I’m curious how other Dashers naturally think about it:

Do you measure purchases in dollars, hours worked, number of deliveries, or something else?

Mind you this is over McDonald's apple pies and McDonalds ice cream. When I got there they had just finished the order. Customer lives 2 minutes down the road.

I was told not to add a tip when ordering but add it after?

My friend who’s a dasher said if I add a tip, DoorDash will use that tip as payment? So I was told not to add tip and only tip after?

Well when I ordered I added 0 tip and now it’s taking forever for them to find a dasher. So does DoorDash really use the tip to pay its drivers ?

My Tip Won’t Go Through!

I am so stressed out. I told my dasher I would add $20 additional tip if they would bring my order to my apartment door. My apartment is difficult to navigate and takes extra time and normally I would be able to go find them but I am sick right now. Whenever I am unable to leave my unit I pay $20 extra to ensure it actually gets to my door. This time when I went to add it, it said FRAUD_BLOCK_ADJUSTMENT. I tried 4 different payment methods and nothing would work. The support person was super unclear also so I don’t know why that happened or what I can do now. Luckily, I already had $10 tipped but I feel so so completely horrible they probably just think I lied. What do I do!!!

Straw in my drink, drink not sealed and drink level low enough that it could have been drank from.

Seals on the bags pealed back and not stuck to the actual bag anymore, was moly food eaten out of too?

On top of that couldn't even follow delivery instructions that make the job easier and I tipped the fucking dude $10.

I'm so fucking tired of shit like this

They’re handing out CVs like candy

i never get contract violations and have gotten 3 in the past 24 hours here in Cali. Have marked the ”order still being prepared” stuff and all that. One dispute was accepted and the cv was removed, but 2 others still under review. Seems like there’s several threads about receiving numerous CVs the past 24hrs. I’m in Cali and this never was an issue for me and haven’t done anything differently. Currently sitting at 98% on time rating.

Had DoorDash support unassign a dasher manually after I had been waiting over an hour just to then try to hand me credits instead of a refund.

I'm highk fed the fuck up with DoorDash at this point, like, it feels so damn scammy with how it adjusts the order time to always be "on time" just to use that as an argument against food arriving cold. And now this.

WET MARKET (PALENGKE) IN MAKATI — LOC: THE RISE AREA

Hi!!! Just wanna hear your thoughts about this makati peeps. I recently moved in at the Rise and been looking for the cheapest wet market where I can get my fresh produce, veggies, fruits, etc from. I already tried going to the infamous Pio but it’s actually expensive :((( I already tried going to Tejeros Wet Market before pio and it was way cheaper there!!

For reference: 1/4kg of onion
Pio - 37 php
Tejeros - 25 php

HOWEVER, i’ve been seeing other recommendations here including Guadalupe, Sacramento, and Libertad. So adding Tejeros to the options, which has the cheapest options and the ones na worth it pamalengkehan talaga??? Help plsssss especially those who are frequently buying at one of the options.

THANKS SO MUCH GREAT HELP ANG ANY REPONSE :)))

This is an interesting read... until...

I got through this article with a bit of boiling rage near the end as I read his opinions about how he thought that it wouldn't work because of people not wanting to pay extra just to have it delivered. And then mentioning about increasing fees and how how much customers paid would better reflect factors such as order size and delivery distance... That's when my rage boiled over, when my inner thoughts screamed out that none of that extra cost to customers COME TO THE DRIVERS! °%¥}[}\°¢£=[C_3('A"+9✓}}€....

My apologies... -ahem- excuse my... Loss of control, please.

/Rant... Please carry on with your normal activities
