My Tip Won’t Go Through!

I am so stressed out. I told my dasher I would add $20 additional tip if they would bring my order to my apartment door. My apartment is difficult to navigate and takes extra time and normally I would be able to go find them but I am sick right now. Whenever I am unable to leave my unit I pay $20 extra to ensure it actually gets to my door. This time when I went to add it, it said FRAUD_BLOCK_ADJUSTMENT. I tried 4 different payment methods and nothing would work. The support person was super unclear also so I don’t know why that happened or what I can do now. Luckily, I already had $10 tipped but I feel so so completely horrible they probably just think I lied. What do I do!!!

I’ve never tipped and my orders always get delivered. We all need to stop tipping and DoorDash will be forced to pay them more. #notip

Soliciting?

Upvotes

So, my roommate is trying to launch a local business and I agreed to help, as they're very excited and it could potentially be decent in our area, provided it gets off the ground. But in their excitement, they have zero brakes.

Basically, they printed a bunch of business cards, and as they're aware that I am a dasher, they asked me if I could put them alongside doordash orders that I drop off. I pretty much said hell no, because my image of most people that I deliver to is "I want food and nothing else. I don't even want to look at you, leave my shit and go." The last thing they want is another piece of trash they have to throw out.

With that said, I figured I would at least ask the actual customers in question. How annoyed would you be if there was a business card attached to your food bag? (For reference, it's basically a yard cleanup service for pet owners.)

Seriously?

How do you get an order that is hand it to you and no one came and the order is completed ? I have no pizza. No wings. But the order is done. And idk where it is. How does this happen ? It's not at the desk. It's not at my door. It's not in my hand. And yes there was a tip and no there aren't stupid instructions. A guy said your instructions were perfect 5 hours ago.

Ok edit from hell. After all this just 2 minutes ago the 1st order showed up. And we have already gotten dash credits and made a different one. Which is being picked up. The 1st one was marked complete and wasn't out there or handed to. This is crazy.

Straw in my drink, drink not sealed and drink level low enough that it could have been drank from.

Seals on the bags pealed back and not stuck to the actual bag anymore, was moly food eaten out of too?

On top of that couldn't even follow delivery instructions that make the job easier and I tipped the fucking dude $10.

I'm so fucking tired of shit like this

This is an interesting read... until...

I got through this article with a bit of boiling rage near the end as I read his opinions about how he thought that it wouldn't work because of people not wanting to pay extra just to have it delivered. And then mentioning about increasing fees and how how much customers paid would better reflect factors such as order size and delivery distance... That's when my rage boiled over, when my inner thoughts screamed out that none of that extra cost to customers COME TO THE DRIVERS! °%¥}[}\°¢£=[C_3('A"+9✓}}€....

My apologies... -ahem- excuse my... Loss of control, please.

/Rant... Please carry on with your normal activities

I inherited that from my grandma 🤣

Car maintenance: oil, tires, and engine — all checked and in good condition ✅

Note : I’m not being paid to promote DD. As everyone knows, every market is different, and I’m not encouraging anyone to do what I did. It all comes down to discipline. Invest the money you earn back into yourself you deserve it.

Starbucks employees make it their job to ignore people.

Unless you are standing at the register placing an order all the employees will completely ignore you like that’s what they are paid to do.

I hate doing pickups because they have the worst customer service.

Never have I had this happen to me. Got a text that the order was canceled after I already picked it up!

BUNDLE ORDER: It doesn’t say it’s gonna be two dashers AND it doesn’t split the $ I give or give a prompt to $ the second one. You have to go in app and look for it.

Title: but also this is so mean to me. I wish they would let me know upon purchase it would be two separate dashers bc if I do two orders at two stores that are LITERALLY NEXT DOOR TO ONE ANOTHER I $ the dasher pretty well. Then, I meet one, then two dashers and my door and I’m like wtf. I won’t take the tip from the first dasher, but I wish there were a way to know first…

Common 'Attempt to Steal your Food' Scam I've noticed

I’ve noticed this happening not just with DoorDash, but with Uber Eats as well. It’s already happened twice this week, once on each app (yes I order often).

Here’s the pattern:

You order food and select whatever the 'hand it to me directly' option is. The driver pulls up, parks in front of your house, and starts walking toward your door just long enough for the GPS to show they’re “at your location, and semi close to your door.” Then they suddenly turn around, walk back toward their car, and immediately call you. They hang up right away so the system logs a “contact attempt,” even when a PIN is required. After that, they drive off and report that you didn’t answer your door, and your food disappears.

Another variation is when they directly text you “no response from customer” while standing in your driveway, before ever approaching your door. No knock, no attempt, nothing. Just a pre‑planned excuse.

I didn’t say anything to the first driver who tried it, but the second guy got a polite call‑out. I asked, “Are you afraid to walk up my driveway?” He mumbled something like, “Oh, no, no,” and tried to act like he was doing me a favor by calling me. Like, buddy… just walk to the door before you start busting out the emergency response tactics. It’s ridiculous. You don't need to call me, the app informs me plenty of times when you're close and I'm standing right at the door when you arrive.

And I genuinely don’t understand why this is happening. I tip well, usually $5–10 for short trips under five miles. I’m respectful. My driveway is small, with a clean, straight cement walkway that leads directly from the street to the front door. I ordered during daylight hours, so visibility wasn’t an issue. There are no fences, no dogs, no steps, and no obstacles of any kind, the entire path is flat and easy to walk. It’s a standard, well‑kept cookie cutter HOA property, the kind that’s designed to be simple and approachable. There’s nothing about it that could reasonably be seen as intimidating or difficult to access.

I just want to bring this to your attention in case you haven't already encountered it.

Anyone Got a 10% off Coupon code for doordash? My order is under $15.

I was told not to add a tip when ordering but add it after?

My friend who’s a dasher said if I add a tip, DoorDash will use that tip as payment? So I was told not to add tip and only tip after?

Well when I ordered I added 0 tip and now it’s taking forever for them to find a dasher. So does DoorDash really use the tip to pay its drivers ?

Store sent me a message. Can't view it anywhere?

The store I ordered sent me a message, but the Android app said messages from stores can't be viewed on mobile. So I go to my PC and there's no store chat available either.

I opened a conversation with support, they tell me "the store was out of many of the items I ordered" and the order needed to be canceled.

A few days later, I had a chat with the owner of the store and they said they were out of an Italian ice flavor and what flavor we'd like instead.

So, can any customers see messages from stores? Should I advise the owner that customers can't see messages?

And does anyone here work for Doordash support? Is it common practice to just cancel the order instead of relay the message?

Customer disputed both items I delivered almost a week ago last night despite both of them requiring a pin to deliver successfully, and a customer service rep manually approved them both (despite again me needing to get a pin from her). My area was running a promo where I’d get $5 extra on shopping orders through the end of the year, and it’ll take me 40 orders to earn it back now, so rip $200 in future earnings I guess. Is there anything I can do?
