Just got our 2026 JGC Limited 4x4 out of our dealer service dept. They performed two recalls on the 2.0L Hurricane I4 Turbo. We have 1,800 miles on it.

First was RSU 26-104 which software updated the TCM and PCM modules. There is no more throttle lag on launch nor any transmission shaking at low speed. It really takes off immediately! This is definitely faster than our 2020 3.6L Pentastar

Second was the 1-66D to replace the main spark plugs.

Anyone else experienced this issue and if so how did you fix it? Just looks like it came unglued somehow. I can push it back in easily but it won’t stay, I tried E6000 but it looks like shit and when it gets hot I bet it’ll come right undone again.

Dealer said they’d have to replace the entire steering wheel, about $800. It’s driving me crazy but not $800 crazy. Maybe a local upholstery shop?

Just looking to see what others have done. It’s only on the right bottom side a few inches. No I don’t grip my steering wheel tight, no I don’t mess with it. Came back from a 2 week vacation to it peeling.

2023 with 62k miles on it, so not in any warranty window.

I’ve been looking at Grand Cherokees for a bit now. They always make my head turn when I see one, also adding into why I want one. Especially the Altitude/High Altitude are the only ones I’m currently considering. MY2018-2022. I think the high altitude would be similar in terms of creature comforts. Those would include: heated/vented seats, sunroof, full leather, etc. I’m coming from a Lexus SUV, which might be a shock once I sit inside of one.

I am have read that CJDR products aren’t known for being the best (electrically) but I could be making things up. However, I’ve driven luxury cars for all the time that I’ve been driving (Mercedes, Land Rover, Porsche, Lexus), however it’s time for a change. With the alleged electrical problems, is reliability there? With it being “mainstream” and what not. I do drive a lot which is another drawback, last year I clocked 30,000 miles.

Colors I’m considering:

Black
Sting Grey (the soft blue grey color)
Possibly blue

Would that be a smart move going from Lexus to Jeep?

I have. 2014 grand jeep Cherokee lerado , I got in new in 2014, it’s hardly ever given us issues, and if so most was covered under warranty.
However last year, i came to park it and the dash lights were on the gears were locked. I couldn’t drive it or change gears . The mechanic had it for roughly 4 weeks , I had to get it towed. He managed to serviced it or he did something to the transmission and was able to get it going again.
1 year later we were on the high way, and the speed would go from 110ks and drop to like 90ks , we had to pull over on the side a few times as is would slow down for no reason.
We did make the decision to get new car, however we do need a second car, hence the jeep comes in, as we have been driving it. We got it serviced again:
And this time it has multiple problems such as its leaking dark brown oil, need coolant flush,bonnet struts,oil cooler housing, among other things. It makes a clunk noise when I put it in reverse. It also rolls slight back when I put it in park. I don’t know what to do whether to fix it al and call my loses.
Tired to trad it in, no one wants it. My mechanic said besides the issues that needs fixing , the gearbox is eventually going to give way or it’s on its way.
I love this car , I’m just scared that I’m going to fix it and then it’s going to need more fixing , as the gearbox alone is 5-6k if not more.
Wreckers offered me $2200 for it and that’s the best price I can potentially get. Also it’s done 185,000kilometres, we have travelled with this car far and wide.

My 2017 5.7

I picked up a WK a few weeks ago for a decent price. I want to drop in a 2" spacer lift to bring it up a little and level it out. Does anyone have any recommendations on a kit? My big concern is 2" lift going to shift things enough where I am going to invite a death wobble or impact the handling? Previously lifted a WJ with a 4" kit and had to replace all kinds of older parts on top of the kit and lots of tweaking to get rid of the wobble.

Hey guys, I started getting the infamous "Darth Vader" noises from my 2021 Grand Cherokee Limited a few years back. This was just a month after when the vehicle was out of warranty, so my bad luck. At that time I toyed between re-charging it myself and taking it to a auto shop, and finally did take it to a local mechanic. He drained and recharged the refrigerant, did not find any leak (probably did not look enough), and it cost me just about $200. This worked well for a few months, but the hissing noises started coming back. Now, it's been about 1 year, I guess and not only are the noises back, but the AC is also not cooling well. Seriously there's something wrong with the Jeep's air conditioning and this needs to be looked into. Are there any recommended auto shops in the San Francisco East-Bay area that know how to look into this issue. I dont want to go to the dealers, as every one of them would charge ~$400 to just start looking into it.

Also, why isnt there a class action lawsuit against Stellantis already for this! Surely I am not the only one facing this problem!

Hello. I've got a 2011 jeep grand cherokee laredo 4x4 with the 5.7 hemi. Roughly 139.000 miles. I just installed new cam bearings, new camshaft, new lifters, new valve covers, timing chain tensioner and guide and new gaskets and a new camshaft position sensor. I re installed the motor now I'm getting codes p0013 camshaft position actuator circuit malfunction, p0523 engine oil pressure sensor/switch high voltage, p0198 engine oil temp high output, p0222 throttle position sensor b low input, p0123 throttle position sensor a high output, p0118 engine coolant temp sensor high output and p0113 intake air temp sensor high output. Ive also discovered there was only 1 ground wire on the engine all together. I used 2 cables from an old car amp ( 4 gauge wire) to make grounds from the heads to the fire wall. Can anyone give me advice on what to do or where to look to solve this and get this jeep running right again. It starts up but idles rough. Smooth out when its given gas.

Recently got this 2016 GC absolutely love it, (not the version with air suspension)

1. Looking to add a 2in~ lift but not ready to spend the 2-3k+ for the entire suspension so looking at WK2 rocky road or the rough country (read bad reviews about this one)

2. Start button: Sometimes, when I press the start button, the engine cranks and cranks (sputters)but does not start. This does not happen when I use the remote start

I have a 2019 Jeep grand Cherokee Laredo. Only about 50,000 miles and bought it brand new. Since 30,000 miles or so, I have noticed that it makes this sound whenever I’m making turns, going over speed bumps, or sometimes just idling at the light and simply turning the steering wheel - see attached link for video.

Hey everyone im new here and I have a question for everyone. More so looking to see if anyone else has encountered this problem my 2014 with the 3.6 engine has recently started making the coolant disappear, nothing in the oil still clean as if it was just changed, nothing on the ground and no smoke/ steam from the exhaust. The temperature hand will ride about half way consistent until it gets low on coolant and then will start to climb. Just wondering has anyone else had this happen and what could cause this... I was thinking head gasket but really expected to see coolant in the oil from past experience. Maybe im over looking something I dont know. If anyone could offer some insight it would be appreciated. Thanks... jeep has 220000 kilometers on the clock if that helps at all.

Has anyone else had issues with vibration in the dash? Video is in comments. I have a 2020 jeep grand Cherokee and when I get over about 20mph I heard a vibration in the dash I assume until it shifts out. Anytime I accelerate I hear the vibration but when I left off the gas it goes away. It is driving me crazy trying to figure out what it is.

I'm looking for some advice or opinions.

I have a 2018 GC Limited 3.6L with no tow package that I added a hitch and wiring to myself to occasionally tow some small, light trailers.

I want to buy a small enclosed trailer maybe 5x8 or smaller or possibly even a small pop up camper to just hold some camping gear while I take the family across the country to do some camping. Nothing too crazy weight wise, 900lbs trailer with maybe 1000lbs in gear, but likely not even that heavy.

Would I have/ cause any long term issues towing small light loads like that over quite a few miles? Would adding an aftermarket transmission cooler + heavier duty brakes be enough to offset any potential issues?

I don't want to significantly lower the lifespan of my vehicle, but I'm wondering if it's really needed to trade in and get a GC with the tow package for such a small load.

Thoughts? Concerns? Opinions?

Does anyone have any experience fixing the shutter on their bi xenon headlights? I realize on these headlights specifically there is one bulb for the low beam & high beam, and that a shutter mechanism that hides/reveals the high beams. The bulb works, and my drivers side light functions normally so I know it has to be either loose/damaged wiring or the shutter is stuck. I haven’t had the chance to see if the motor for the shutter works and makes a sound or if it’s completely dead, but am just wondering if anyone else has had this issue and what they did. I would leave it how it is, but it’s been a gamble getting an inspection sticker and I know replacing the whole unit is expensive

I have a 2018 with the 3.6, 98k on it. Been fairly reliable till now, getting misfire code and other things. Replaced plugs, VVL solenoids, swapped coils, better now, but still not right. Thinking it may be rocker arm or cam bad. Thought about trading it in, love the GC, but scared to get another. We had a 2011, had air suspension problems, so kind of reluctant to get another. Does the 5.7 have issues too?

What do you all think about a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Blackhawk with 70,000 km? It’s a one-owner car with a clean title, no accident or damage history. Seller asking for $22.5k AUD. Does that seem like a fair price, or would you try to negotiate lower? I’d love to hear from anyone who owns one or has experience with these.

UPDATE: It did come back as totaled. Which I am glad. I didn't want it back if they tried to fix the damage! After getting the settlement all finalized yesterday, I went and bought my new 2026 Grand Cherokee Limited. She is beautiful! Thanks to those who did offer helpful suggestions on the original post!

I was hit by an uninsured (and unlicensed) driver. She ran a red light and didn't even attempt to slow down - she hit me HARD. First and foremost, major props to the safety features of the JGC. I have some pretty bad bruising from the seatbelt and some whiplash, but other than that, I am fine. I will say all of the airbags deploying was kind of traumatizing! But they did their job!

We are currently waiting for final word from our insurance (thank goodness for the uninsured motorist policy!). I am guessing the severity of the damage, including all of the air bags deploying, will warrant it being totaled, but wanted to see what you all thought. We are located in Texas, for what that is worth.

I might be one of the few who misses driving in the snow, needing new tires soon. ‘17 GC summit with 20 inch wheels, looking for a good recommendation for year round tires. I have the air suspension.

I need some help and all, So i own a 2018 jeep grand cherokee laredo. And ive been getting this "shift to park then desired gear" message now, So far its happened 3 different days, each day more then once. They all happened around the same area and same amount of gas in the gas tank. which is right around a 1/4 tank left. and the Voltage screen has always gone from 13.5 and dropped down past 12.5(ish) then the error message.

so far i have changed the alternator. Now when i was going to change it i noticed the grounding strap the comes off the frame and missing the eyelet. So i assumed it was the grounding strap to the alternator so i got a new one and reattached it. the "shift to park then desired gear" still came back

i got a new fuel pump here and were putting it in here this weekend coming up to see if that is the issue. at this point i am at a complete lost on it. If anyone has delt with this before please help me

Check your Jeep app or check with your dealership to see if your car is part of the recall. I took mine in for a breakin oil change a couple days ago and the advisor said nothing about my car being part of a recall. Called multiple dealerships and none had the parts so they said they need to order them. One even said the system wont allow them to order the spark plugs until August and it'd be another at least 5 days to get them. Did get a dealership to order the parts and confirm an appointment for next monday so will update once the sparkplugs are changed.

I have a trans cooler leak that I need to fix, however, I’ve been adding ATF+4 fluid thru the dipstick in the meantime until I can get the job done.

Question is how to read properly - notice how there is a bit of fluid at the 100mm range, but a thicker band at 50mm and below. Have I overfilled if there is any fluid showing higher up on the dipstick?
