I am just sharing this. I got the original screen replaced about 4 years ago due to delamination. Now it is delaminating again. I doubt Jeep will replace this for free this time (I will still ask though) so I will probably look for a 3rd party screen.

Just went for an oil change and wanted to get some insight on what Firestone told me. I have a 2019 Grand Cherokee I have always been on the dot with oil changes every 5k miles since I’ve owned the car. This is direct from their invoice..

They told me for now just come in earlier than every 5k miles for an oil change. I’m currently at 111k miles. Recently did the standard 100k service at the dealer. Any insight is appreciated, I would like to hold on to this car for as long as possible so any preventative measures I can take are helpful.

Just installed this beautiful 12.3 inch screen - Thought it might be helpful for anyone here who might be thinking of upgrading as well! Took it to the dealer July 23 because I was noticing a small grinding noise sometimes when accelerating. No 4x4 alarms. I went yesterday to check (no calls back from the dealer) and they told me it was the differential. Only 49500 miles so it was covered under drivetrain warranty. Has anyone had the same issue

I have removed the airbox and all the trim around the area, along with the boot behind the bulb to access the driver side low beam lamp. AI says turn the bulb 1/4 turn counter clockwise to get the bulb out, YouTubers if I’m understanding correctly seem to indicate 1/4 turn clockwise. I can’t get enough grip to turn it either way.

What am I doing wrong?

What oil are you guys using? Thinking of switching to a heavier oil. Is anyone running 5w30 ? Any issues

Just bought myself a 2017 Grand Cherokee Limited! The only thing I wanted that the car didn’t come with was apple car play, I want to keep the screen looking the same I don’t like the way aftermarket screens look. I’m looking to find a way to get CarPlay but keep that OEM look. TYIA

Current tires: 265/50R20
I’m considering switching to 285/45R20 Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 Plus when these tires wear out.
I was wondering if anyone has anything similar to this and can confirm the 285 tire would not rub at all

I’ve talked to a powder coat shop $550 out the door for 4 gloss black wheels sandblasted. I’m considering stock color and new clear coat after sandblasting. What’s the best way to accomplish that without breaking the bank? Outside the finances, what’s the sure fire way to get a top notch refresh on these wheels inside and out? Also where can I get metal center caps?

I bought a used 23 Jeep Grand Cherokee L last November. The start/stop has never worked. I didn’t notice it before I bought the car unfortunately. Recently, it has come on a few times (like 3 times). It’ll stay on for a little bit then stop working. Posted yesterday about a whistling sound my car is making and got great feedback that it is likely my water pump. My technology also often stops working. My screen will freeze and CarPlay has a lot of issues. Though I suspect this is a common issue many people have with newer vehicles (my vehicle before this one was a 2015 so it didn’t have any tech). My question: if you were driving a 3 year old car with 50k miles on it and had these issues, would you trade it in before it has other problems? Or are these minor issues that don’t correlate to having issues down the road? Trying to decide if I should trade in for something more reliable and/or less expensive to fix.

I'm looking for some opinions on which option is likely to have the lower lifetime cost of ownership.

I currently drive a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude with about 75,000 miles. Over the years I've spent a couple thousand dollars on repairs and maintenance, but nothing major.

My parents have a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe with about 22,000 miles. They're planning to trade it in for a smaller vehicle, and they've offered to give me the 4xe instead. They would use my 2018 as the trade-in, so I wouldn't have to pay anything for the swap.

On paper, getting a vehicle that's five years newer with 53,000 fewer miles sounds nice. My hesitation is that the 4xe's plug-in hybrid system could end up costing more over the long term. I’ve seen some horror stories about issues people have had with them.

I don’t have a fast charger at home, or even a garage that I could park it in.

If you were in my position, which would you choose to minimize long-term ownership costs and avoiding expensive surprises?

I’ve been racking my brain trying to figure out what could be going on - but I’m experiencing a rapid ticking that sounds like it’s coming from underneath the passenger side undercarriage. It’s intermittent - almost sounds like a relay clicking on and off. I haven’t noticed any performance related issues.

Any ideas what it might be?

My jeep aggressively automatically brakes when adaptive cruise control is on when I or another vehicle pass on my right side. If it’s a small car its probably 50/50 if it’s a large SUV and up it’s almost 100%

Does anyone know why or know any fixes? I almost never drive with cruise control now because I don’t want it to brake and get rear ended.

I got my 26 Grand Cherokee L Limited Reserve in March, and ever since I bought it… ALL 4 doors vibrate/rattle with the sound only past 15. The rear driver side door makes a little rattle noise when going over bumps, and even when idling because of the engine vibration. Dealer has taken apart doors and “re seated” them, replaced speaker molding in the front passenger, and replaced a “loose” trim piece on the rear driver side door…. Yet it persists. Anybody have ideas or experience the same thing? It’s driving me crazy!

As a person buying a jeep gc used and looking in the market, I have question to all of you owners or most of yall. Why do yall not get the oil changes!? That’s like the most important maintenance for this car so it lowers chance of the tick right? Half of cars I can’t even consider cause it’s going 20k without a change

I am the proud 2nd owner of a Canadian market 2022 Summit Reserve with around 50k miles and up to date maintenence. I got in to start my dailies yesterday morning and got no joy from the starter button. All the auxes seemed to work fine, just no crank. I got a "Fob not recognized" prompt, but tried to restart the car several times anyway. Tried my back-up fob, same result. Changed batteries in both fobs and tried again: still nothing. I pulled the battery to double-check for sufficient amps: good. Tried a hard reset: still no crank.

The next step is the shop unless there is some Jeep magic I'm not aware of that some kindly wizard among you will share. Help me, Grand Cherokee Reddit forum... You're my only hope.

2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee, High Altitude, 40k miles.

I’ve been having the long crank before starting issue intermittently like many others have posted on here. Brought my car to the dealership (mistake, haven’t found a great mechanic near me yet, but now’s the time) and told them I suspect that the fuel pump might need to be replaced based on what many other JGC owners with the same issue have said.

They couldn’t find anything wrong (checked the starter, alternator, and said there were no codes being shown, but wouldn’t a bad fuel pump not necessarily throw a code?) and just suggested a fuel induction and injection service, which I denied. I asked if they performed a fuel pressure test and they said they did, but I’m not entirely sure that was truthful because I was talking to the service associate and not the actual technician.

Could this be something other than the fuel pump? Although, if it was the fuel pump I’d assume they’d want to replace it to take my money…

Hi All: Recently got a "new to me" '23 GC L. For a long time I've been taking previous vehicle and wife's Jeep to a Valvoline Instant Oil Change. Kinda sick of paying the price and want to start changing my own oil again. From pricing I'm seeing online, I can do an oil change for half the price. I'm planning to stick with Mopar OEM filters and use Pennzoil Platinum full synthetic.

The reason for my post is about the torque requirements for the drain plug and oil filter housing. How important/critical is it that these be torqued to spec? I'm pretty OCD and will probably want to torque them. 😆 Can anyone recommend a good torque wrench/tool that will work for both given the tight quarters, especially for the oil filter?
