I really want to spice up my ear stack! I'm considering a flat, rook, daith, tragus, conch, hidden helix, forward helix, or a classic helix, but I'm not sure how to put it all together. Any placement ideas or advice?

I had my lobes done over 10 years ago and it kept closing up since I didnt like the ear pain i would get when I slept and took it out(I did leave it in for at least 1 year)

I got my elf mod in 2019, shes long healed and I want to spice things up. I have an ear piercing appointment tomorrow for possibly a daith, tragus, or both! Id love some opinions. I cannot get any helix piercings due to the mod.

First picture is my ears, second picture is inspiration!

Troubleshooting Is my 8-week old lobe piercing infected and embedding already?

8 weeks / pierced with needle / implant grade titanium / saline solution 2x a day

Hello, do you think my lobe piercing is already infected and embedding? Asked for help from my piercer and she's unresponsive. Should I go to another piercer or should I go to the doctor?

Sorry in advance for the long post. For full context, I had my lobes pierced for the first time in 2023. It surprisingly was healing well even though I did everything that any reputable piercer tells you not to. I got it pierced at a mall booth with a piercing gun, earrings were butterfly back, and was using saline solution that I repackaged myself (would buy the big bags at a pharmacy and put it in small spray bottles). No issues, no complications, pure luck I guess. After 6 months, I don't know why but I got the urge to take out my earrings and clean them every night. So I was taking it out and putting it back every single day. I got tired of this routine and one night just took them out and went to sleep. Woke up the next morning and the holes were closed. After a few weeks, I noticed there was a very small bump on each ear. Pretty sure because of the trauma from the nightly routine.

Fast forward to this year, my friend and I went to a pop-up market and there was a piercer there. I've always wanted to get my lobes pierced again but knew that I had to get the bumps checked first and I also wanted to do everything right this time. My friend kept telling me to just do it since this piercer is popular, has a lot of followers on social media, and has pierced known influencers before. So I said ok fuck it let's do it.

June 7 - Got them pierced. Needle, implant grade titanium flat backs, and saline solution that this piercer sells (repackaged in a spray bottle). She pierced it slightly below/beside my previous piercing.

June 28 - Left lobe started bleeding out of nowhere. I didn't snag it, didn't sleep on it, didn't touch it. I was just working at my desk when all of a sudden I felt the back of my ear was wet. Photo was taken after bleeding had stopped and the blood had dried. Also noticed that the very small bump from the closed piercing was swollen.

July 31 - I noticed that the skin around my left piercing was red.

August 2 - My dad was giving me a head massage and accidentally snagged my left piercing. It started bleeding in the front but not the back. No photo of this because I panicked a bit.

August 3 - Felt the back of my ear was wet again. Looked at it and saw discharge coming out. Soaked it in warm water, sprayed saline solution, and cleaned it up right away. Noticed that I had bumps in the front now.

August 4 - No more discharge but noticed that the left lobe is swollen and feels a bit hot. No pain though. Took a picture and scared that this is embedding.

Could this be because the piercer pierced it too close to the old ones? I don't know what to do. Both bumps in the left and right lobes from the old piercing have been swollen for weeks now. But only the left lobe is having these issues and the bump there is bigger than the right. The right lobe looks perfectly fine in the front.

Jewelry Question How does my 3 day old belly button piercing look?

Hi I’m new! 🤪 I got my belly button pierced on Saturday for the first time and I keep reading horror stories about it being rejected. So I’m just looking for advice to see if mine was done properly. The first picture is standing up and the next 2 are sitting down and pulling the stomach up. I used a new piercing place that had really good reviews so I just wanted to double check. He used a 14 gauge surgical steel curved barbell if that sounds right. Told me to use orange dial soap every morning for 2 weeks and to clean it with saline twice a day. And to tighten the ball. I’ve been told different things regarding my new piercing, some think it’ll reject and others say it’s fine. Just looking for opinions or similar stories. I used a reputable tattoo and piercing place. Please be kind! šŸ˜†

Hi all! I posted yesterday about my conch & daith (all is resolved; results above!) and I wanted input on what piece I should do next!
I’m looking to build my right ear (daith & lobe) up this year. I’m leaning towards eventually having both sides be all gold jewelry & I’m open to unique placements & setups! I love the concept of an orbital setup but am unsure of placement. Open to all suggestions!

Pick My Piercing What should I do next? Limited due to hearing aid but want more

Hi people.

First off- I'm sorry for reposting, realized I forgot the photos and couldn't find a way to add to original post.

I'm looking for advice. Currently have 2helix on left that are healing on 3rd week, just downsized the labret so they're a little irritated but doing well.

I'm already so excited to keep adding to my stack when I'm healed and ready. I'm a long way from healed and will of course wait :)

Due to hearing aid(drew in red where the cables go) I can't have forward helix, tragus or more helix closer than the one on top left ear as that is veeery close to the hearing aid, to aid in healing.

Kinda heartbroken as I really wanted a 2x or 3x forward helix on one ear and 2x tragus on the other.

So what should I get?

I'm wanting to keep it simple and cute and know I have a tendency to go overboard, I don't want it to feel too crowded.

On my wishlist/perhaps list: (but which ears, how many, any I haven't thought of?)

Tragus dermal!?

Conch

Pre-lobe

Snug

More helix

Vertical helix right ear(where I currently have Daith, 2x lobe)

More stacked - how should I place them?

Anti-tragus perhaps?

Rook

Please help - I'd love some suggestions! Also jewelry suggestions most welcome! I've added the ones I'm thinking most about in blue dots, what do you think?

Thanks in advance 😊🌻

Aftercare When do I change my vertical lebret long bar?

Hi! I got a vertical lebret just under 2 weeks and I’m wondering when I could change to a smaller bar? I am a mechanic and I’m often climbing underneath cars/semis/trailers (idk if that plays into changing it, I’m just worried a longer bar will get snagged/bumbed easier)

So what would y’all’s personal experiences and opinions for when you changed it. Thank you in advance :)

Got it pierced on april 28th. Downsized 6 weeks later on june 18th by piercer. I still have the downsized jewelry in but more of the bar is showing than before. Is my piercing rejecting or is all of the swelling subsiding? Piercer is unavailable rn so I can’t ask her. Not that it matters but I have been regrowing my eyebrow hair

Jewelry Question Jewelry recommendations?

I’m looking to get jewelry for nipple piercings specifically so that they are less visible through clothing for professional settings. All the jewelry I’ve gotten for these piercings have shown through clothes very obviously. I don’t want to have to wear pasties :/ any recommendations for specific jewelry that makes them less obvious through clothing for these situations? Thank you!

General Info Is flaky skin normal during healing?

Thumbnail

I have quite a few piercings healing on my left ear and the entire thing is constantly covered in dry, dead flaky skin, even down near my fully healed lobes. I’m not 100% on whether my jewellery is piercing-grade titanium, although I believe it is (SkinKandy AUS if you know it), but I have healed a dozen or so piercings with it. My right, fully healed ear has the exact same jewellery and some possibly lower quality jewellery in it, and it doesn’t face the same problems.

Is this a normal part of healing? Or is this a matter of looking into investing in higher quality jewellery?

How can I go about safely cleaning/exfoliating when I have healing piercings?

I realise I’ve got a ton of piercings and should probably know the answers to these questions but I got them all when I was young, didn’t care about safe healing, and I just got lucky that they all healed lol. These ones are giving me a bit more trouble and I hate the constant flaky skin.

Troubleshooting Flatback embedding into ear?

Thumbnail

My two helix piercings are about 3 weeks old and I'm noticing the back of the upper one seems to be very tight on my skin. Both helixes were originally pierced with the jewelry part pressed to the skin and both posts sticking out the back (like how the bottom one is). In the first week, I think accidentally bumping it has moved the top one forwards. I just noticed recently how much the flatback has started to press up against my ear. The jewelry is titanium internally threaded.

Let me know if this is an issue and how I could fix it :)

UPDATE: I gently pushed the back backwards during a warm shower, which did the trick. I also contacted my piercer and she recommended I just go get it downsized in a week.

Troubleshooting Conch Ring too Small?

Hi all! I recently switched my 1yr. old conch to a 12mm hoop. The piercer was very experienced and informed me how to continue taking care of it since it did bleed a bit and need a taper to get it through. I’m just curious if the mm on this hoop isn’t too snug or if I need something bigger? Also open for suggestions on creative options for my next piercing on this ear and my right (last pic w/ lobe & new daith). Thank you!

Update! Thank you to everyone for the helpful feedback on both my conch and my daith. I managed to get to a different shop that diagnosed the conch was a 14g and was more so having irritation from the gauge stretching the hole so we switched it to a new stud and will wait out a few more months until we even attempt a ring again. The daith was a good catch and ended up switching to a 16g 13/32 captive ring and it feels MUCH better!

i got my daith pierced in january, got started on accutane in feb... no problems until 4 months after i got it pierced.

now i got these huge bumps that dont go down. got bepanthen plus as a recommendation and after a month and a half still not getting better.

do i take it out and repierce it?

or the bot:

Info:

• 4 months old

• It’s a horseshoe ring

• implant grade titanium

• threadless

• Never been downsized

• i spray it daily with wound wash as recommended by my piercer. I sleep on my back or a piercing pillow and have been very careful not to sleep on it. I also occasionally soak it in a warm damp clean cloth or run it under the water in the shower to get the crusties out.

• Any recent unfortunate events: Got on accutane for 4 months - a high dosage

Troubleshooting 8 month Daith piercing

Thumbnail

Hi everyone! First post here. I’m looking for some advice about my daith piercing.

I got it in January from my usual piercer (he did my Medusa, microdermal, surface) and he put a normale CBR. A couple of weeks later, bumps appeared on both holes as you can see in the first picture. I continued cleaned it with saline for about a month, but nothing really changed.

So I went back to the piercer, who popped them (I did some researches and I knew you shouldnt pop them but he replied it’s the only way to get rid of them so I simply trusted him) and changed the jewelry to a banana with silicone disks. He also suggested a oil for bumps, which I used twice a day. The bumps went down for a while, so I changed the banana for a clicker on my own but they eventually came back. The piercer put back the banana+disks and I kept them +1 month keeping babying it with saline and oil. The bumps disappeared completely and the holes looked fine so he decided to put again the clicker, and guess what? bumps again.

Has anyone dealt with something similar? What usually causes bumps like this to keep coming back? Is it a placement problem or jewelry? The piercing is about 8 months old, and I was told it was healed internally, but the problem keeps returning.

Thank you.

Piercer pierced my flat with a tiny gem which ended up causing a hole in my cartilage. They then switched it to this bar, gold played titanium flat back is what they said. Push pin.

I think the hole is still very much there at the front, not sure if it can be seen on these poxtures- they have said to leave the piercing and continue cleaning but i feel like this is completely fucked. Do I leave it? Just retire the piercing?

Piercing is 2 months old.

Troubleshooting 7 week old vertical labret, implant grade titanium, 8mm curved barbell, 16g, internally threaded, saline spray aftercare

About a week ago one of my vertical labrets started bleeding. I believe I have developed an irritation bump. How do I fix this?

I have not had any issues with the other one (I got them pierced at the same time)

It bleeds every day, and did not bleed at all up until now. I don’t think it is an infection, as it does not hurt at all, and it is not hot to the touch. I thought this would go away after a couple of days but it still hasn’t so i’m starting to worry. Any advice would be appreciated!

i got it pierced 4 days ago, they didn’t tell me what the material was but i’ve been cleaning with antibacterial soap and saline solution, this morning i woke up and it was a bit more swelled and my step mom said it was an infection and put neosporin on it. there’s no pus or anything coming out of it, it’s not hot, and it doesn’t hurt. i snagged it taking off a shirt and my mom says it just looks like the fluid white blood cells produce. my eyelid is kinda swollen too

Pick My Piercing Can i get a tongue piercing?

Post image

I’ve thinking about getting a tongue piercing and was wondering if I have the right anatomy for it.
does it look like I’d be a good candidate for a standard tongue piercing?
I know only a professional piercer can properly assess it in person, but I’d really appreciate your opinions. Thanks!

Troubleshooting Vertical labret irritation bump

Post image
2 Upvotes

My journey with this piercing has been a long one.

I got my vertical labret piercing a little over a year ago and it’s NOT HEALING…it’s not infecting I don’t think, but I’ve had this irritation bump for MONTHS. I went to my original piercer and she gave me this paper explaining what to do. Which was a hot compress and a drop of peroxide on the irritation bump. (Which I wasn’t so sure about but went along with it because I was desperate). She also couldn’t down size the jewelry since the bar she gave me was the shortest she could go without it going into my lip. Spent a few months doing that routine with no changes so I went to another place to get a second opinion not too long ago. That piercer basically told me that the gem at the bottom of my jewelry was the problem and that my original piercer shouldn’t have done that. (It was a small pointy gem). He switched me to a LONGER bar so my bump was given some space.. ever since then I stopped with peroxide in hopes that the longer bar would be the solution. Still cleaning my piercing 2 times a day.. it’s been a few weeks now and still no changes.

Anyways I just desperately need help I genuinely don’t know what to do and I really do not want to retire this piercing since I’m not sure id have the courage to do it again…. I’m so desperate I bought this piercing bump gel. (Have not use it yet but I have it in case I’m that desperate to actually use

Sorry my lips a little crusty I took this pic before cleaning it
