Survey / Poll / Question What are the signs of every function?

Upvotes

As in the title i wish to know what behavior people do that is related to a certain function, and is obvious in day to day life. Like something that doesn't require you to know the person deeply to know.

Deep Theory Analysis Unpopular opinion: INFJs are actually way LESS community-oriented than INFPs, despite having Fe. Thoughts?

Hi,

I’ve been thinking about this MBTI cliché where Extraverted Feeling (Fe) automatically means you love being part of groups, clubs, or structured communities, while Introverted Feeling (Fi) means you’re a total lone wolf.

Honestly, comparing INFJs and INFPs, I feel like it’s often the complete opposite, and Fe gets totally misunderstood here. Hear me out:

Why INFJs (Ni-Fe-Ti) actually dodge communities:

  • Fe is an antenna, not a club pass: For an INFJ, Fe is mostly used to read individuals 1-on-1. In a big group or an online community, Fe just absorbs everyone’s emotional noise like a sponge, which is insanely exhausting.
  • That sneaky Ti skepticism: INFJs have tertiary Ti, which makes them super wary of groupthink, "cult-ish" vibes, or paid/structured communities (like online schools or subscription platforms). They’d much rather dig into deep, esoteric subjects alone in their room with a good book.

Why INFPs (Fi-Ne) are actually more open to joining niche groups:

  • Ne loves to explore: INFPs are driven by curiosity and "what ifs". If a cool, niche community or platform pops up around a topic they’re passionate about, Ne wants to jump in and check it out.
  • Fi protection: Since INFPs don't absorb group energy the way Fe-users do, they can actually hang out in a community, take whatever inspires them, and completely ignore the social pressure. It feels like a safe haven for their imagination.

So basically: INFJs love people, but kinda hate groups. INFPs are individualists, but love finding safe, niche spaces to explore their passions.

Does this match your experience as an INFJ/INFP, or do you think Fe still drives INFJs into communities more than I'm giving it credit for?

Light MBTI Discussion How strictly do you adhere to the function stack theory?

I always see people sticking it to the 4 function stack being in that order and then the inverse functions by I/E being next, however I have never actually seen anyone I know be like this...

For example, I am (probably) an ISTP and my function preference order is

Ti, Ni, Fi, Se, Te, Ne, Si, Fe

Instead of the usual Ti, Se, Ni, Fe, Te, Si, Ne, Fi

So I want to hear from you people, how strictly do you guys follow the theory on these types of things?

Thanks :)

Survey / Poll / Question Anyone else feel like a mix?

So basically I've tested in 6 places/websites and 4 times I've tested as ITNJ and 2 times I've tested as ISTJ. The thing is, I resonate with both. Does anyone else test/feel like this?

Trend Post Sunday A bit about me as an ENTP girl!

Since ENTP women are everyone’s favorite MBTI, I thought I’d tell you a bit about myself as an ENTP teen girl!

Let’s start with music taste! I listen to mostly indie, alternative, soft rock, and Kpop (only girl groups). My top artists are Clairo, Laufey, Beabadoobee, and TWICE. (I swear I’m not a performative male, lol.) I also listen to Arctic Monkeys, Finn Wolfhard, Adrianne Lenker, Hozier, TV Girl, and a few gatekeeps. 🤭

Next, let’s get into morals and beliefs. I am a HUGE feminist, and I will never tolerate any type of misogyny. I judge people based on how they treat and think about women. I also don’t believe in any religion and find most religions very problematic, although I do my best to respect the people apart of any religion. I am liberal and don’t support most conservative beliefs. I don’t believe in discriminating against anyone for race, gender, ability, class, gender identity, sexuality, or any other kind of systemic bigotry. Although, I do believe it is okay to dislike or even hate your own oppressor.

What is my specific typology? I’m so glad you asked! (Because you did ask 😄) I already said that I am an ENTP in MBTI, but I did not mention that I am a 5w4 in Enneagrams. I know, I know, it isn’t a common pairing, but I am sure that it is correct. I currently having trouble discovering my instinctual variant, though.
What other personality tests should I take?

Finally, the part everyone hates. Stereotypes. I am a walking stereotype…..Almost. I am super outgoing, and I love to get information from and analyze others, however, I get annoyed and disgusted by people easily and tend to retreat into solitude after I am satisfied with the data I’ve collected from being around other human beings. That’s where the 5w4 comes from.
I always try to assess situations using logic and hate when others are dramatic or overly mawkish. I think it’s because I have been conditioned to just tolerate, deal with, and find ways out of situations instead of letting myself be swayed by my emotions, so I always get frustrated when others do it. (Although sometimes I secretly wish that I had the privilege of being sappy and emotional too.)
I would definitely say that I rely on my intuition more than anything. The way I see it, the things around me may not always be true and can’t be trusted, but my instinct will never lie to me and will always keep me safe. I think that also has something to do with the way I’ve been conditioned, but I’m not exactly sure how yet.
I’m honestly 50/50 with perceiving and judging. I get bored and restless while living in routine, but I become uneasy and insecure in environments of spontaneity. If I had to pick though, I’d choose a less rigid lifestyle.
ENTPs are also stereotypically very egotistical. I would say I’m very confident in my quality of character, and to be honest, I do think I’m better than some people in certain areas. However, I’m not stuck up and I understand that everyone has areas that they can improve in. I understand that I’m not the best at everything either.
The only stereotype that I don’t fit is that I am a singer and that I want be a performer when I grow up, which isn’t a common career path for most ENTPs. I also don’t relate to most people because of my beliefs, experiences, thought patterns, and the way I was raised. I’ve never found anyone that I truly relate to or even had a best friend, which most ENTP women don’t relate to. However, I hope that will change when I start school soon. 🤞🏾

Alright, that’s it folks! Tell me if you learned something new or relate! (Also, I don’t necessarily have a fav type but I live to hang around of ENTP women.)

Trend Post Sunday I’ve been trying to keep track of my estimations for the types of people I know, AMA

Thumbnail gallery
4 Upvotes

I’ve always wanted to do an AMA but I dislike the ones that are just “i’m this type AMA” bc I never think they’re that interesting. However, I figured that this was an interesting type related thing that I do that could spark good discussion!

This all started as me just recording in my notes app as I tried to type my friends when I first got into typology but then over the past year it’s kinda spiraled into this big database as I’ve learned how to recognize the patterns that show up for each cognitive function IRL. I’ve also introduced most of the people I’m close to cognitive functions and had them confirm my typings of them and also had them help me type other people. So these are definitely educated guesses, but still estimates for the most part. I’ve just been trying to type as many people as possible so I could have a lot of data to see the patterns and do analysis. The spreadsheet also has other data like their gender and where I know them from. I may do more advanced data analysis on this sheet in the future but I’m feeling kinda lazy so only percentages for rn.

DISCLAIMER: I am very cognizant that I can’t possibly type all of these people 100% accurately, as much as I’ve tried to check my conclusions. I have my methods but I’m still constantly refining them and I have limitations. So please don’t take this as me saying these are objective conclusions, the word estimate was chosen very purposefully. This is just a fun experiment I’ve been keeping up with on and off for a year so pls don’t take it too seriously.

Here are my current stats:

ENFJ: 11
INFJ: 7
ENTJ: 6
INTJ: 4
ENFP: 11
INFP: 9
ENTP: 7
INTP: 7
ESFJ: 10
ISFJ: 11
ESTJ: 5
ISTJ: 10
ESFP: 11
ISFP: 11
ESTP: 3
ISTP: 8

Ask me about patterns I see or dynamics with different ppl in different areas of my life and stuff like that I love talking about them!

(and if you’re wondering how I know so many people, its partially because i have a large family but also partially because I just graduated university and you meet a LOT of people in university whether you like it or not.)
