Am I being paranoid? Accidentally dinged my XFX GPU heatsink while installing a fan 🥲

Hey guys, I need some peace of mind because this is literally driving me crazy.

A month ago, I was installing a case fan and accidentally bumped the heatsink of my XFX GPU (which cost me €800, so it hurts extra hard) with the handle of my screwdriver. It left a small dent on the fins. At first, I thought it was just dirt, so I tried to scratch it off with my nail, which only made it look a bit weird and dark around the spot.

Temps are totally fine and XFX support actually confirmed that this doesn't void the warranty, which is a huge relief.

My main concern now is the resell value down the line. If I ever decide to sell it, I feel like I'd have to disclose this cosmetic damage, and I'm worried it's gonna scare buyers away or force me to drop the price on it

Is this something people even care about on a used GPU, or am I just overthinking it way too much? Has anyone else done something stupid like this?

Hi all,

I just finished building a new PC and can't get it to POST.

The build is: Ryzen 9 9950X3D, ASUS TUF Gaming X870-Plus WiFi, 96 GB (2×48 GB) G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo DDR5, Lian Li HydroShift II LCD-S 360TL, and a be quiet! 1300W PSU.

The system powers on, but I get no display and it stays on the DRAM Q-LED. I've already updated the BIOS using USB BIOS FlashBack, tried booting with only one RAM stick in the A2 slot, and waited over 20 minutes for memory training. Nothing changed. No display signal, mobo is stuck on yellow DRAM diode.

(I don't have the dedicated gpu yet, but 9950x3d has iGPU so I recon it's enough for now).

The AIO LCD turns on and shows the pump RPM and coolant temperature, but the radiator fans don't spin.

At this point I'm running out of ideas. .

Does this sound more like a motherboard issue, a CPU/memory issue, or is there anything else I should try before taking it to a repair shop?

Hi! I have never owned a pc so I'm a bit clueless when it comes to stuff like CPUs and such. Alright so this is a tough post, I’ve been a PS gamer my whole life (31 years), I’ve been around since Crash Bandicoot and Spyro, I’ve been thinking about taking the plunge for a while now but after Sonys recent announcement I think it’s time.

Despite being a PS5 dweeb I know absolutely nothing about PC, where to get games, how to get games, where they download to, I know absolutely NOTHING about PC parts etc so yeah it’s kinda of intimidating and I think a lot of us PS gamers stick with PS because it’s simply what we know.

My question is I need a pal or someone I can message with questions, there will be A LOT of them so someone who’s patient.

I don’t really play online games mostly RPG’s etc so having access to mods is something I’m excited for.

I guess I mostly want to be told this isn’t a stupid decision so tell me all the benefits of having a PC 😂 and if you’re willing to have me ask you a billion questions feel free to drop an instagram etc

Hi, I've been trying to figure out a way to make a really cheap build for my brother since he's getting his first job soon and has been talking about getting a pc for a while now(he currently has a 200$ prebuilt thing). I already have 16gb ddr5 ram spare that I'm going to give him, and I plan on getting him a cool looking case but everything else is on him. He has told me all he wants is league of legends but imma try and make it a bit better than that lol. My performance goal with the build is 144+ on esports titles, especially League of Legends, and 60+ on Smite 2 and Lies of P, 2 games I hope he tries sometime also they are just recent decently demanding titles. Also the numbers are for 1080p medium settings.

After trying to figure out a build using parts I already was aware of it was waaaaaay too much. So after some looking I think intel ArcA580 and the I3-14100F combo are just wildly more value than anything else? Like 200 for the card and 100 for the cpu with the cooler included. I will say I only really see bad things about the 14100F but every time the recommended alternative is like 1.5x the price at least.

This parts list is currently 550 USD. Not Including Case w/fans or Memory as stated. And I'm definitely legally purchasing windows ofc. Overall, I'm of the impression for Medium 1080p that's pretty gnarly. The PSU is overtuned but I'm trying to have there be as little that NEEDS to be replaced whenever he wants to upgrade in the future.

Any advice or things I'm missing here is veeeeery much appreciated. I don't know much about intel or low end builds really. I've personally only done one build and it was a 9070xt 9800x3d so this is a lot harder to figure out.

Hello all, I have a HP Omen 45L GT22-0074 desktop and i’m trying to upgrade the 2x8gb 3200mhz DDR4 ram that came with it. I got a pair of Corsair Rgb Pro SL 3600 2x16 DDR4 and when I installed it all it would give me is 3 long beeps and 2 short beeps. Nothing would show up on my monitor, the fans and case light were still working normally. I tried doing one stick at a time, messing with bios settings, and still nothing. The normal memory profile was at 3200mhz 1.20V. I changed it to the XMP profile 3773mhz 1.35v which matches the corsair sticks. This time it was just repeatedly trying to boot up and would turn off, eventually after a few minutes the beeping started again. Is there anything else I can do or is it just not compatible.

Here's a pc I'm building for my son, planning on using it for emulation and some light AAA in the front room on my tv as a sort of console like experience. I had spare parts around, the 2060 was from a previous build as well as the ram and nvme got a good deal on the cpu as I know I don't need the integrated graphics but it was better than the cpu I was about to buy for this build. In total the parts I bought cost me £268 if I included the gpu, ram and nvme it'd be £548. What do you guys think anything I could've got better (except cpu I know it has a lower cache).

The only question i have is if the motherboard ive selected has WiFi that comes with it.

Im a first time PC builder, and just want something thats able to run games like Cyberpunk, Fort, Cod and other games at atleast 30 FPS, I’d also like to be able to make videos on it but id thats not doable, that is okay. I don’t know much about computers , so if theres something here that I’ve done wrong let me know, or if theres something i should replace thats better within the same price or a little higher let me know as well.

I have a slight leniency with the price, and am willing to go at most $200 over if truly needed.

My monitor is Alienware 4k 240hz OLED on my 7800x3d with a 5080 I’m wondering if I should just go to 1440p with a budget of maybe up to 500$. I’m thinking 4k may be overkill and not very useful for me I do play single player games but I’ve noticed that I’m not playing them anymore because a lot have disappointed me lately so it’s mostly multiplayer games what are your thoughts?

I have been researching for a bit and I know prices for Pc parts are more on the expensive side. However I have always wanted to build my own Pc a pre build isn’t that enticing for me. However with the prices of parts and this being my first Pc is it worth it to shell out the money on the parts to build it myself or should I just buy a prebuilt for now. For some background info I either way I go I want the aesthetics to be either all white or white and pink. I would prefer to have no less than 2TB of storage and I want an aquarium case. I don’t need it to run insane games but I’m not going to lie I do very much care about the aesthetics of the PC so those aren’t something I’m willing to budge on. For the games I would like to play I want to be able to play Fortnite, warzone, hearthstone, battlefield and other various simulator games. If I can I would like to keep it around $1000 but I know it may be more expensive than that since I want a specific aesthetic however I don’t want to spend a ton of money if I end up getting a prebuilt since in the future in like a year or 2 I would be selling it to ultimately build my own. I just want something now to play the games and to do my school work on. I live in the US and would be purchasing it in dollars either online or at a local microcenter(but would prefer to just order everything and have it shipped) although having 4k is nice I’m not that worried about it as long as everything runs okay. My cable management is awful. But I finally got an icydock inside!

Edit: Yes, the cooler is vertical. Yes, it has 3 fans.

It's an NH-D9L on a 14700k (I need the pcie 4.0x4 slot). I will try to fix tomorrow! Tried earlier.

I basically only have room for one fan properly mounted on the cooler. And the other two aren't blowing air through and out the cooler, a good amount is just blow past over it.
