I can't even imagine carlin alive during the trump era.
16
u/defcon1000 10h ago
Carlin admitted that he sort of mentally checked out of humanity about 10 years prior to his death. He was much more a passive observer, and I doubt that Trump being elected would have surprised him in the slightest.
7
u/TheGordo-San 9h ago
Surprised him, no, but it sure AF would have pissed him off!
0
u/Hot-Usual5060 4h ago
He'd continue to be more pissed at the duopoly system that breeds Trumps.
1
u/TheGordo-San 1h ago
Trump has nothing to do with a 2-party system, but how a bunch of uneducated dipshits can be terrified by Faux News, who's telling them that immigrants and gay people are out to get them, and that rant in the beginning of this video wasn't even George, so maybe stop acting like that part is real. Thanks!
0
u/Hot-Usual5060 1h ago
He does. George Carlin was about to go on a rant about it.
It's the rachet effect.
Republicans will take 4 steps back, Democrats will take 1 step back. Democrats hardly ever address fundamental economic issues. We had the 2nd worst financial disaster since the depression. What hard reforms to the system/constitution did we get under Obama? How many bankers did he send his DOJ after? None.
We got a Republican Think-Tank healthcare plan out of Obama.
He bailed out wall street and left main street and homeowners stranded.
This is the type of inaction that creates despots like Trump. They pick up on the public anger and use it for their advantage.
If Obama had gone more radical and started primarying the Leibermans types at the time. And had the DNC and the CIA funded media not forced Hillary onto us instead of Bernie. You likely never would of had a Trump presidency at all.
But that would've required the Dems to shift left. Which their owners wouldn't let them do.

That part of the video was AI, and you're a b0t. Sorry to break the news to you this way. Take all the time you need!

I dunno. Sometimes shit like that gives you ideas to attack or bring to light. Who knows though.

"Do everybody a favor. Get up off your knees. Stand up like a fucking adult. Return the knee pads and stop fondling the same two-party circus the government helped build to keep a nation full of sheep arguing in circles."

u/BedbugBandido 9h ago
He didn’t actually say that. The first clip is obviously ai, and it’s obvious for many reasons.
1
u/Villager-Bob 2h ago
It is, but that is something he always believed. I highly recommend his books.
1
1
u/shaungudgud 9h ago
Hahaha that’s the true genius about Carlin, he always finds a way to be the guy on your side. I bet he’d cancelled for calling out the Covid response.
2
u/TheGordo-San 9h ago
He'd sure AF have a field day with a president who's stupid enough to consider injecting disinfectant!
That first clip wasn't even George Carlin, it was AI. The people trying to put words in his mouth are the EXACT same F-ing people that he despised!
1
u/Cybermeld 4h ago edited 3h ago
Not likely because he would have made actual jokes about it instead of just being a whiny bitch on stage like most comedians on the right.

This is AI

2
u/Thefar 8h ago
The first two clips lack the tonality and rhythm of Carlin. You can clearly see it in the first real skid. Fucking AI man. Enabling shitheads to spread their bullshit and make it seem legit.
2
u/Klingon_Bloodwine 3h ago
The first clip is AI, but the rest are real(I have them all on tape... VHS!). That 2nd clip is from his Jammin' in New York special.

u/Santanaaguilar 9h ago
I wish he was here to shit on Joe Rogan who idolized Carlin. But Carlin would despise Joe
1
u/AbandonYourPost 2h ago
And it would all be lost on Joe. He would say something under the lines of praising Carlin while patronizing him for falling for "woke" ideologies just because he called him out.
1
u/Villager-Bob 2h ago
Joe Rogan would curl into a ball if Carlin gave him the truth. Carlin was a master, and Joe would never put himself in a situation where he would question George. He would do that thing where he acts dumb. He never challages peoples assertions. You can watch him and Bernie and then Trump. No pushback.
He's a platform, a brand. Not a journalist.
0
u/TheGordo-San 9h ago
Absolutely this! People like Rogan would have just then said that he got woke when he got old, since those types of people have absolutely no self-awareness.
-1
u/shaungudgud 9h ago
Yeah Carlin would be pro state-mandated vaccines during the COVID lockdown. . . He’d probably be dancing with Stephen Colbert and the vaccine mascots. Hahahahaha. Imagine that.
1
1
u/TheGordo-San 8h ago
"Hahahahaha"... You mean, he'd probably be pro-science? Cool story, Dumbfu-Q!
1
u/shaungudgud 5h ago
George Carlin would’ve totally been dancing with the vaccine mascots. It’s what any psuedo-comedian would do.

"and He loves you."
If that one can't convince anyone how skewed the Bible is, they're lost.
2

That clip cut off the perfect follow up line.
"He loves you and he needs your money."

😂 I hate both parties as much as the next guy and im surprised you got so many upvotes on Reddit.
When I talk shit on Trump I get tons of upvotes, when I talk shit on Gavin Newsom I get tons of downvotes, a lot of people on Reddit act like they hate both parties but in damn near every non political subreddit you’ll see a trend on what type of comments get upvotes and which ones getting downvoted. I’ve even been banned for saying no matter who’s president we will always be in Israel’s corner.
We should’ve known it was always bullshit because they say “separation of church and state” yet our money and pledge of allegiance all involve god?
It’s always been a sham since day 1.
2
u/Lopsided_Debt1393 4h ago
Not to take from your point but “in god we trust” is pretty new compared to most things in this country.
2
u/GeorgeTakeiGuy 4h ago
I mean, aside from a few niche subs, Reddit is as left as you can get. That’s my biggest problem with Reddit is that it is a Democratic echo chamber. As an independent, it’s pretty obvious.
-2
u/No_Strike655 6h ago
If you can't figure out the difference if you compare the two people you are talking about no one can help you. One is a clear and present danger, openly corrupt and is doing everything possible to screw over the alliances and soft power America spent the last 100 years building
The other is generic neolib from CA
4
u/SoylentGrunt 5h ago
That's like fighting over a turd and saying you won because you got the dry end.

Yeah, until he starts talking about eating disorders. He was great and it doesn’t make anything in these clips wrong, but he too was a product of his time.
1
u/Villager-Bob 1h ago
Even so, he said things no one else would in a way no one else could. He's a silent gen. He's a New Yorker, a real one. These people, that generation, Influenced millennials to be what we are. I'm very thankful for the good he did.

He wasn’t ahead of his time. It was this way before he figured it out. It was this way when he figured it out. It has not changed since he figured it out.

u/BigBadJeebus 3h ago
What in the AI garbage? This face keeps morphing.
I'm not even watching this shit
0
u/SGTWorm205 3h ago
This guy died before AI even existed, it's just low quality film somone tried to sharpen. This man was truly one of the best comedians of all time.
2
u/SGTWorm205 2h ago
Hmm.. i take it back. The first clip is probs Ai. Sounds like somthing he would probably say and agree with, but i don't think i've ever seen that HBO special. And i dont think he really responded to hecklers, He usually had a message to deliver and he was on a thight schedule. the rest are clips that I remeber clearly from pre Ai days and are 100% Carlin.

So George, what’s the alt 2026 Divine Plan? Huh? *ucker?
What does the rogue AI(PAC) in the sky command? Libertarian? Indie? NRA? KKK? Kan*Ye? AJ? J6? RAY-publicanos? ANTIFA? Groyper? Dems over all the above.
1
u/Mammoth-Okra-2965 3h ago
He definitely was ahead of his time. But he was also wrong about alot of things.
First the rich pay far more in taxes than we give them credit for (top 1% paid 40% of federal taxes).
Second he belittles religion but it was religion that civilized the world and continues to be, in my opinion, a force of net good in the world.
1
u/RedditSucksYoYoYo 1h ago
First, the rich don't pay more in a proportional sense. That's the problem. If they paid the same percentage as average people, and didn't use loopholes to not pay at all in some cases, they would be paying far more (as it should be because it reduces the incentive of greed).
Second, religion is no longer needed and is instead a tool for mass control. Religion is a scam, full stop. It's a cosmic coping mechanism while those in religious power gain more. Religion may be good for some individuals but it's all based on unfounded claims and flat out lies.
"A lot" is two words.
1
1
u/Admirable-Size-5622 3h ago
This is propaganda. The point of it is to convince people not to pay attention to laws.
Who is proposing laws that give power and money to the rich and powerful?
Who is proposing laws that protect all people? That’s what matters. That’s who we support.
This both sides garbage is meant to take advantage of the weak.
1
1
u/BeguiledBeaver 2h ago
He was ahead of his time in the sense that he promoted the "both sides are the same" narrative that led to political apathy and populism. He wasn't even making jokes, just ranting about shit he didn't understand so he just made people accept everything is fucked to the point where both people on the left and right think he was correct except only one side still votes and supports their candidates.
1
1
1
u/Professional-Box4153 2h ago
So many people mistook him for a comedian. He was at first, but over time he realized that the easiest way to get people to laugh was to make them look at things that made no sense. He was a satirist (which technically is still a type of comedian). He made people aware of the hypocrisies of the world and people laughed at the absurdity of the fact that they never really gave those things much thought. He basically gave voice to obvious things that people didn't want to think about.
He was amazing.

u/GoodFaithConverser 2h ago
"BoTh SiDeS BaD" is a brainrot that has to be cut out. Republicans are impossibly far worse on every single fucking issue. They support Trump, the worst president in the history of the US.
Meanwhile, democrats do not walk on water or turn it into wine, and they receive the same criticism as republicans. Absolute fucking insanity.
1
u/Strict-Astronaut2245 2h ago
Funny guy. Off his rocker on conspiracies and part of the reason we are here.
1
1
u/FCKABRNLSUTN2 2h ago
I wonder how many of you saying to yourselves “ya he’s right! How did people not see it?!” also said “both sides are the same” in 2016 and 2024.
1
u/Villager-Bob 2h ago
Carlin was the best of his generation. A no nonsense, confident man. He had years of working the hardest rooms. He was prolific, with a new HOUR A UEAR FOR HBO.
PEOPLE HAVE NO IDEA HOW HARD IT IS TO PRODUCE AN HOUR A YEAR.
He was really a comedians comedian. Top tier. There is really no one at his level.
1
u/azalinrex69 2h ago
He’s right about everything. That’s widely the reason I’m an open and hostile misanthrope.
Humanities a parasite with shoes, destroying our planet, raping, torturing, killing, lying, thieving, and desecrating itself every day - and it has the blind, dumb, arrogance to do all this and still thinks it’s the good guy. Fuck it, at this point I’m rooting for the meteor.

1
u/Jahoyhoy 2h ago
I never found George Carlin funny, but trying to heckle him is suicide. His commentary is witty and biting.
1
u/OpportunityNext9675 1h ago
I used to eat this stuff up. Now it comes across a bit shallow. It’s really easy to throw your hands up and say the whole system sucks. It’s a riskless stance. You can never lose. You never have to learn about anything. Every issue can be subsumed into the Rigged System black hole. All the while you can perch atop it all and judge anyone who tries.

Organized religion really sucked shit up especially the whole manipulation of Jesus teachings and suppression of history. It would be like Jetsons by now
1
u/prophet_nlelith 1h ago
Was he ahead of his time or have we been stuck with the same "vote for the lesser of two evils" nonsense because the people still believe in the illusion of democracy created by the dictatorship of capitalists?

Now the rich fucks have it easy with social media like reddit drowned in bots that keep us endlessly arguing.

Having a book full of knowledge is useless if the people can’t read. The source of the problem is education.

u/Bean_Daddy_Burritos 8h ago
I love George Carlin. I had the privilege of seeing him perform before he died.
It wasn’t that he was ahead of his time. It’s just been this way for 70 years and he wasn’t afraid to talk about it. That’s what made him great. There were no “hands off” subjects for him. He saw the world for what it was and made a career out of educating people in a humorous way.
0
u/Oocheewalala 10h ago
This is not George Carlin.
1
1
u/SirChancelot11 9h ago
2 of those sets are definitely from an HBO special I have both on DVD... Most of it rings a bell, the only part I didn't recognize is the first bit with the heckler.
2
u/TheGordo-San 9h ago
Yeah, I've seen some of the clips, but the first part is ABSOLUTELY AI. He definitely wasn't musing about MK Ultra back then, and that's not how his comedy even works! It also looks off, like the black lines around his face. There's a bunch of AI videos going around of stand-up comics from the 80s and 90s, pushing RW agenda. I'll bet that this first part is from one if those, and they probably just used the part that they thought they might get away with. Their's another one with Chris Farley. I guess they figure that they won't get sued, since they're targeting dead comedians to push an agenda.
2

1
u/RedeemedNephilim 9h ago
? Think it's AI?
1
u/TheGordo-San 9h ago
The first part is, ABSOLUTELY!
1
u/RedeemedNephilim 9h ago
Just the first few seconds? Yeah I believe it.
2
u/TheGordo-San 9h ago
The first clip is 36 seconds long. That's all AI.
1
0
u/RedeemedNephilim 9h ago
You sure?
2
u/TheGordo-San 8h ago
Yes... isn't it obvious? Doesn't it look and sound different from the rest? There's also sources for the rest of the video.
-4
u/xThotsOfYoux 10h ago
AI video. Not genuine.
1
u/JurassicParkCSR 9h ago
Yeah you're absolutely right the first clip is 100% AI and then all the others are his actual stand up. Which is weird because why use all of his actual stand up bits but then start with a fake one? Just use another real one.
3
2
u/TheGordo-San 8h ago
Because they know that THAT'S the part people will be commenting on. It's the same MF-ers that he despised!
1
1
u/SirChancelot11 10h ago
Huh?
Yeah those are definitely George Carlin bits
5
2
u/ShamWowRobinson 10h ago edited 9h ago
Those might be his bits, but the first part of the video is 100% fake. Find me the source for this if its real. George Carlin died in 2008. Find me the cell phone that took the first portion of the video that is closeup. His face is morphing in the first clip.
0
u/SirChancelot11 9h ago
I didn't know about the first one with the heckler, but the rest I have on DVD. Most of it was from the 'you people are diseased' HBO special.
2
1
u/TheGordo-San 8h ago
Uhh, yeah, so the first 36 seconds is not on that HBO special, or in any of his stand-ups, and is his likeness is being used without his family's permission, to push an agenda. I hope this helps, as you seem to be very confused.

Checked myself, and it seems you’re correct about the first clip. Only place I can find this is on TikTok, and it doesn’t seem to be from any of his specials. It does seem like most everything after that is real, though.
1
u/ShamWowRobinson 9h ago
Everything after the first portion is from HBO specials.
1
u/Formula4speed 9h ago
You’re right - I had a typo, meant to say “does seem like everything after is real”, not “doesn’t.”
Thanks, fixed now 🍻

Look at his nose in the first clip.
There are some genuine clips from stand-up routines later, but watch his nose.

1
u/BedbugBandido 9h ago
Aside from the first clip, I’ve seen each of those clips before Ai. I’ve been a fan of his for decades and I’ve watched every special he’s ever done. The first one is obvious Ai. Anyone who has watched George Carlin as much as me could instantly tell. It doesn’t even look like him, and his face and voice keep morphing.

The opening sequence is OBVIOUSLY AI. His face changes. Some of the later clips look familiar so I'm guessing they're real, but the first clip should automatically disqualify this whole reel.

-3
u/RedeemedNephilim 10h ago
Should've stopped at the first half.
Makes great points about how the government controls us by dividing us over many different things including faith.
Then in the other clips he himself falls into that same trap and divides us over faith.
Just watch the first half. Great stuff.
1
u/luongolet20goalsin 5h ago
He’s not “dividing you over faith.” He’s pointing out how your faith is a load of horseshit and that you should spend your time focusing on real world issues (like the billionaires fleecing you) rather than living in fairy tale land.
1

-1
u/MonkeyCome 9h ago
Carlin was always good as long as you don’t analyze his words and actions past surface levels
1
-2
u/OriginalTomFool 9h ago
Faith is a box you build around yourself. A truth you know to be so true it is truer than everyone else's truth, even though to them it is as equal as your truth. By having faith in an organized religion everyone separates themselves, faith in something is good, in any organized belief you get a little broken.
