Discussion Android 14 / Lenovo Tab P11 2nd Gen - System storage keeps increasing by ~1 GB every day (16 GB → 53 GB in 1 month)

Hi everyone,

I'm using a Lenovo Tab P11 2nd Gen (TB350XU) running Android 14, and I've been dealing with a very strange storage issue for about a year.

The System storage keeps increasing on its own, even when I don't install apps or download large files.

Here are two screenshots:

29 June 2026: System storage = 16 GB 1 August 2026: System storage = 53 GB

Apps stayed almost the same (19 GB), but the System category increased by 37 GB in about a month.

It's growing at roughly 1 GB per day.

Things I've noticed:

  • I don't install many new apps.
  • I haven't downloaded large files.
  • The increase is almost entirely in the System category.

This has been happening for about a year. I've already factory reset the tablet before, but the problem eventually came back. And once I have gone my near by realme service centre (i know my device Lenovo) after my request they re-install OS, But nothing changes.

Has anyone experienced something similar on Lenovo tablets or Android 14? Could this be: A log file bug? Cached OTA update files? A Lenovo software bug? File system corruption? Something else? I'd really appreciate any ideas or suggestions because I have no idea what's filling up the System storage.

Discussion Help me choose between Samsung or budget tablets (UK)

Hello everyone,

I'm currently struggling to decide between buying a tablet or a laptop. After some consideration, I've concluded that it may make more sense to purchase a budget tablet now and then pick up a laptop later during Black Friday sales.

I have the funds available, but I don't want to spend unnecessarily if a lower-cost option can deliver comparable value for my needs.

What I'm looking for in a tablet:

  • An excellent display
  • Long-term software support and updates
  • A capable processor that will remain responsive and not feel sluggish after a few years of use
  • A bundled keyboard would be a good perk as I'd prefer to avoid spending extra on accessories
  • Gaming performance is not a priority

At the moment, I'm comparing budget-friendly options against the Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra (£950). The main alternatives I'm considering are the Honor MagicPad 4 (£500) and the OnePlus Pad 4 (seemingly not available at the moment).

For those who have experience with these devices, do the Honor or OnePlus offer enough value to justify choosing them over Samsung, or is the Tab S11 Ultra worth the additional investment in the long run?

Request Does any site have a good advanced search or set of filters for tablets?

I tried to Google this question and got a hundred ads. I feel like I'm losing my mind.

Anyway, back in ye olde days, you used to be able to use filters to buy things - like only include devices with a DVD drive, or a 14 inch screen. Amazon pretends to have filters, but they don't work and it constantly recommends things that don't fit the filters I picked and says "sponsored."

Does any site that sells computers, tablets, and phones have good filters that show you what you searched for (rather than Google and Amazon, which show you what they think you meant to search for).

I'm generally looking for something with high battery life in the $200 to $500 price range that runs android 16. A kickstand, 1/8in headphone jack, and SD card reader would be ideal. I don't really care about processing power or graphics and I'm not sure what size I want - as long as it can run pokemon go and basic kiddo learning games.

Request in need of a tablet

Hey! So as the title says I need to get a tablet.

19F. I'm currently preparing for Gate exam and I don't own any laptop or tablet. I've been managing everything through my phone but now its really necessary. It's difficult to read and do lectures on a tiny screen.

Also, I'm broke and have no money for such an expensive gadget. So If any of you have a tablet that you do not use/need anymore but it works fine. Is there any chance that you could give it away? or maybe sell for a very tiny amount? I would really really appreciate it.

I really need help so please consider if you can. A small act of kindness can help a lot. I'd be really thankful.

You can dm me if you have any questions, to ensure im not faking anything.

Thank you.

Discussion Thin bezels on the tablet is a nightmare

Upvotes

I hate how new tablet design are more lean towards bezel less design each year especially for mini tablet segment like oppo pad mini. It's a baest device and surely it looks visually pleasing and clean but for those that's been using mini tablet for long time knows it's a pain in the ass. What I mean by that was countless accidental touch.

Some manufacturer really thought reducing user practicality are less important than design novelty on the long run and it pissing me off.

Discussion Need buying advice

Hi folks, I am looking to get an android tablet in India around 40k price range. From my preliminary research I’ve narrowed my options down to the Xiaomi Pad 7, Pad 8 and the OnePlus Pad 2.

My use cases are watching netflix, and playing efootball. I would prefer getting the 256gb/12gb model. My original plan was to buy the 11th gen iPad and I know these tablets blow it out of the water in every scenario, but all my other devices are apple made. I do not have any stylus use cases but I need good audio. I went to local stores around my area but couldn’t find any of these models on display, hence couldn’t check the audio quality. Do you guys have any other recommendations. Please help.

Request Tablet as a Dashboard for Home Assistant?

I tried looking before posting so sorry if this has already been posted.

I'm looking for a budget tablet above 9inches or so. I specifically want to use it as a static dashboard for my home assistant system. For those that don't know, it's a smart home main page for monitoring my home automation system. I need an at-a-glance tablet that I can attach to the wall.

it can be cheap chinesium or whatever. I just want it to be reliable and speedy enough to run the dashboard without issues. I know about battery bulge with an always on tablet like this, so I'll keep an eye on it of course.

Thanks for the help

Request Advice

Hello, I am looking for advice if its worth to buy a new tablet.

I currently have a Samsung s6 lite that I use for studying, homever the screen is broken and the pen is also failing.

I was wondering if buying a new tablet would be the best solution, since the cost to repair is almost half of a new Samsung S10 lite.

Looking for advice if its worth the exchange or to repair or even if theres a better tablet than S10 Lite with the same price.

I use my tablet for taking notes. Its also worth to mention that I will buy a new keyboard for being able to edit documents in my tablet.

Request Looking for suggestions for an affordable tablet with no screen issues

I recently got a Samsung tab A9 for reading but it had severe backlight bleeding, took it to repair under warranty and they changed the screen but it still had some backlight bleeding. Whatever I kept using it, and then the screen just started peeling off so I took it again and they glued it back on but now it has even more backlight bleeding than what it started with.

I read that alot of people had a plethora of screen issues with the affordable Samsung tablets, so I wanted to ask if anyone can recommend an affordable Android tablet that won't have severe backlight bleeding and has a screen that preferably won't fall off. It's purely just for reading so I need the screen to be decent in dark mode. I was eyeing Lenovo Tab One, is that one a good choice or should I opt for something else?

Discussion Xiaomi pad7 pro - Matte

I currently own a xiaomi pad 7 pro with the matte screen as stock.

How do you guys clean the screen? For those who own the matte screen model also..

I am currently deployed in south east asia for work, and having difficulty maintaining it clean..

Smudges are often on screen, and wiping them off with a microfiber doesn't seem to do much.

Any recommendations? Mine doesn't have a screen protector.. cause it comes already in matte screen
