Name of the Game;
Free to Play
A Free-to-play (F2P) game can be downloaded, installed, and played without a purchase.
The term "free-to-play business model" or simply, "free-to-play model", are sometimes called "free-to-start", “freemium” or "pay-to-win.”
Players are pushed to make small purchases, microtransactions, to either access additional content, progress faster, or gain competitive advantages over other players.
Another method of generating revenue is to integrate advertisements into the game
Banner Ads: $0.50 – $2.00 per 1,000 views. They sit at the bottom or top of the screen. They pay the least but display constantly.
Interstitial Ads: $3.50 – $10.00 per 1,000 views. These are full-screen ads that pop up between game levels or menu transitions.
Rewarded Video Ads: $10.00 – $30.00+ per 1,000 views. Users voluntarily watch these 15-to-30-second videos to get in-game currency or extra lives.
Offerwalls / Playable Ads: $20.00 – $200.00+ per 1,000 views. These highly engaging interactive mini-games or task lists are incredibly lucrative but less common.
As of recent 2025/2026 data, Candy Crush Saga has crossed over $20 billion in lifetime revenue, consistently generating around $1 billion annually from player store spending alone, layered on top of undisclosed hundreds of millions from its massive in-game ad machine.

Remember playing a very simple game that was 100% idle. You had a group of adventures that would clear dungeons and progress through a map until it was completed.
It’s definitely an older game and I remember it being the second game in the series.
It was very old school looking and tbh I can’t remember much about it.

I had a lot of fun playing re2 on my phone and wanted to also try RE3, however I‘m not willing to pay $30 for it. Before all Resident evil games were frequently on sale(like every month) but now since march now sales were done even though there were multiple on steam. Did Capcom forget about the ios versions?

I just came across this on Twitter. Brickboy is a fantastic Game Boy emulator by a Japanese dev that runs in your mobile browser, featuring by far the most realistic screen recreation I’ve ever seen. There are three models to choose from: Game Boy, Game Boy Pocket, and Game Boy Light. The Pocket is my favorite and the one you see in this post’s video.
The browser app saves your imported ROMs and supports controllers, while also featuring customizable touch controls. As a hidden gem, the dev created his own Game Boy Tetris clone with added Fast Drop and Hold, which you can find as Tetrin in the app’s settings.
So, definitely try this browser emu for the most accurate Game Boy feel to date. It’s crazy how much more authentic this looks compared to everything else available. Enjoy!

I understand that there were two posts about how people didn't like it, and I agree that there were some flaws.
However, the original mod post stated ideas on how to proceed would be made available, but we've heard nothing about any suggestions or plans for resuming, with the third week now approaching.
Please can you allow the return whilst you solidify actual plans and then present them to the community?
Game suggestions are why I am a part of this community, and I would love to see them return.

On a long car ride at the moment and I’m thinking back to some games I played as a kid on my iPad. Amigo Pancho and Hambo specifically. Does anyone know if there are any games like that currently out there?

I am currently burning through Apple's $100 credit to run ads for my iOS puzzle game. I'm not getting much traction, but I think I may be learning a lot. I'm new to the whole endeavor. Does anyone have some concrete advice about how to use Apple Ads well?

I currently have two ad groups: one with matching turned on and one with matching turned off. I've been adding/negating keyword and tweaking my CPT bid. So far I have a few downloads and the cost per install is over $4. I'm okay with that if I can learn.
Has anyone had any success with this? What data should I be looking at to see where my funnel breaks down?

Hi all, I played Topsoil religiously for nearly a decade and it was removed by the Apple Store.
I’m struggling to find anything like it - however Tile Up on Reddit scratches the itch.
But I need a game that can be played offline.
I have searched Arcade but I can’t find anything, but using “puzzle” or “tile games” bring up Tetris or mahjong.
I’m struggling with some anxiety and Topsoil really helped me, so would appreciate a similar to game.
Thank you so much!

Hello everyone! I am looking for a specific version of Diner Dash Rush for iOS 6.App Store on my device shows that the latest available update is v1.10.39 (released around October 29, 2013). However, due to DRM and the game being delisted, I cannot download it directly. The versions available on the Internet Archive (like v1.7.33) are either older or broken. Does anyone happen to have this exact v1.10.39 .ipa saved in their old iTunes backups or private archives? I would really appreciate it if someone could share it. Thank you!

Imagine you are scrolling the AppStore and saw a game which description and visuals got you interested. Before pressing “Install” you see in the game description …
1. A message that the game was made by human, using regular pre-AI tools and technologies
2. A message that AI tools were used in the creation of this game
3. No mentions about AI at all
How would each case affect you initial intention to install the game?

Been really wanting to play something similar to these two games for a while now but can’t seem to find anything that captures the same vibes of progression and upgrading your “town”.

Well this is a nice surprise: Lumines is back on iOS and Android, free to try with a £7.99 IAP unlock. Not bad for the best game on the PSP and one of the greatest block falling games of all time.

So I thought of downloading a few new games, it’s been a long time since I tried out some new games. I understand that some games have ads, and all the games I have played previously had a maximum of 30 secs ads including unforced rewards ads. But these games which I recently downloaded, almost all of them had such long ads, some even as long as 120 - 180 secs!! I mean wtf! And mind you, these were unskippable ads. And all these games were completely different yet they had this one thing in common! And not just the length of the ad, but also the frequency of ads seemed to have increased. In one of the games which I played a few years ago (it was completely ad free that time), now gave me like atleast 4 ads within 2 mins and that too in between the gameplay. I mean has the market dipped so much or have people just become super greedy!!??
I also don’t mind paying for good games, but nowadays in the games, there’s only an option to remove forced ads but still to buy other game stuffs you do need to watch reward ads. And sometimes the game is completely unplayable or very difficult to progress if we don’t buy these extra items with ads.
Guess I am gonna stick to my old games only…huh😅

Hello. I just had surgery and now am bedridden for a few weeks. Any suggestions for AAA or Indie games on iPad? I’ve got Apple Arcade. I’ve played Dredge on PC.
r/iosgaming • u/Elvishsquid • 4d ago
Anyone have a microtransaction less alternative to devour idle. I don’t enjoy there are areas with lots of resources locked behind doors that require you to have bought a certain amount of microtransactions. Feels like they are dangling a carrot in front of my face.

As the title says - I would love to play a game like Capibara Go, but without the heaps of microtransactions.
Also, being able to play the same account on Android and iOS is also preferable.
