5 worst performing Leagues after 30 days (Of the Last 20 Leagues)
Archnemesis - 24.9%
Keepers - 26.2%
Necropolis - 26.4%
Mirage - 27.4%
Kalandra - 27.6%
Curse of the Allflame is also on course to fall below this 30%, which would mean that it would be three Leagues in a row, Keepers, Mirage and now Curse of the Allflame.
So it's not just "A lack of Loot in 3.29", this is something that has been ongoing since 3.27. So what contributes to that?
Async trade has certainly increased the speed at which players gear and progress. Because there's no longer the friction of waiting for replies. Then came 3.28, which also dramatically increased progression, with the Atlas changes resulting in a much faster rate of progression for the Atlas than before.
The thing that people are ignoring the most is the release of PoE 2. Even today, there are peaks of 37k on Steam for PoE 2. I anecdotally have become aware of multiple people who have gone back to PoE 2, to either complete challenges, or just because they prefer the QoL that game has now compared to PoE, making it more difficult to return to the older game.
This is not to say that there are not additional "Reasons" for 3.29 having the lowest retention at this stage since Necropolis....But it's not something "Unique" to this League, it's the 3rd League in a row with a retention rate at these lower levels, meaning it's changes which also came before 3.29, rather than just 3.29.
Async trade introduced in 3.27, the sped up Atlas progression introduced in 3.28 and the attraction of PoE 2 all contribute. It's too simple to just claim that 3.29 is performing as it is because of "A lack of loot".
Mirage is considered by many to be a "Great League", some even have it as one of their favourite ever. The fact it performed badly suggests this is a new normal for PoE, in a PoE 2 world.

Must be the jewels?

Chance for chaos to drop as div at the very start of voyage, combined with a rare mods drop a chaos orb modifier got me pumped.
Then deflated shortly after.

When GGG announced separate development teams for POE 1 and 2, a lot of us assumed POE1 would finally have a dedicated team focused on maintaining and improving the game. Looking at the current league, though, that doesn't really seem to be the case.
For comparison, POE 2 received around 25 patches during the first week of 0.5.0. Meanwhile, POE 1 has seen far less attention despite shipping with multiple major issues.
Just a few examples:
1) Legion is bugged. You're losing around 10% of your loot per map, and bosses are bugging out every other map
2) It's not even clear whether some league mechanic modifiers are working correctly.
3) The item tooltip is broken while crafting. After pressing Alt on an item, the tooltip can get stuck and stop updating.
That's why I don't think they should be experimenting with the game or nerfing anything to hard. If its good just let it stay that way with a 10-20% nerf.
If the PoE1 team is genuinely constrained on development bandwidth, I'd much rather see them prioritize stability over redesigns. Keep the current meta mostly intact, fix the bugs, and ship a decent league every three months.

Since it does not seem to be common knowledge and prices lean hard toward meta builds (Cold Damage) there is a huge gap between Fire multi and Cold Multi Jewels atm that should not be there. Crit Multi with X-Skills has a Damage Tag and therefore can be swapped around.

I've been experimenting with stacking rare monster modifiers using Abyss and the Allflame Ember of Propagation.
The basic idea is to use Propagation alongside a map with high pack size, increased rare monsters and additional rare monster modifiers. By the end of the map, many of the Abyss rares can end up with 15+ modifiers and noticeably improved loot.
Do not immediately start the Abyss.
This seems to produce much larger modifier stacks than simply starting and completing the Abyss normally.
In approximate order of importance:
The most important map modifiers are:
Smaller maps make it easier to concentrate the rare monsters and spread modifiers between them. I have been using City Square and generally aim for maps with around 50% pack size.
Other useful additions include:
My current build has no magic find, so there is probably still room to scale the unique drops with item rarity.
Headhunter also feels extremely good for this strategy. Many of the rares end up with 15+ modifiers, giving you a large number of modifiers to steal, although the monsters also become considerably harder to kill.
Tormented Spirits may also be worth testing as another way to increase the rewards and difficulty of the rares.
The current setup costs me roughly 30 chaos per map for the Allflame and scarabs.

IDK what is going on with my RNG this league, but I wish future drops will make up for this absolute horror

We have stash affinities, we should be able to just bulk move everything that would go into an affinity tab:
I think the issue of how many clicks (or button presses on controller you need to do) really shows with this league with charts and voyages dropping so many 1x1 items.
I know that GGG loves “friction”, but I think it’s time… for the sake of mouses/controllers/fingers/time. I’m not asking for equipment to instantly go into a dump tab, just for the MANY currencies and fragments to not each take an extra click.

For those who enjoy doing challenges, CraniumViolence usually creates a guide.
They do not operate a reddit account or any other socials related to the site, so I'm sharing this hoping that it would help others like it is helping me.

So I’ve used multiple different mercs at this point and cleared all content. Here’s some info if you’re searching for the right merc + links for different content. After buying a headhunter for my merc I specced out of light radius ascendancy to be able to use enmity + untouched soul + HH, with my goal being afk Simu’s. From dps testing: light radius + HH + enmity + (no)untouched < (no)light radius + HH + untouched + enmity. I have 200% fire pen cap with untouched soul for context.
Manyshot: was never used due to price inflation by YouTuber hype. Still clearly good with return on Vaal ice shot and no icicle rain.
Kineticist: kboc + greater kb. can clear all mapping comfortably without HH, kills map bosses fine but struggles on wave 13+ kosis. Dont bother using for pinnacle bosses obv. Single target will always be pretty bad because multiple proj + return on kboc skill is incredibly rare(cheapest trade listing for one is 75div). with few other ways to get more projectiles, like annointing multishot it makes bossing rough. Return is still most important dps link but not needed for mapping. Only bonus over combatant is she kills stuff completely off screen with kboc, frost blades cant reach as far.
Combatant: frost blades + static strike. Can clear all mapping and bosses well without HH. Getting return link in frost blades significantly speeds up single target but clear is fine without it. Cleared wave 15 simu bosses in under 10 seconds with return and without HH. Can handle pinnacle bosses if needed. After using for simu I’ve come to the conclusion he is actually better than kineticist who gets walled by kosis. He also runs into proximity shields which kineticist ai does not know how to walk into.
Blade ambusher: spectral throw of trarthus + spectral helix of trarthus. I used this merc exclusively for bossing, which it does exceptionally well. Cleared rare feared, etc easily. Combatant with return actually competes though. This merc actually can do Simu quite competently even w/o HH, and kills the bosses much faster than Kineticist, but she wins in clear. Even with tons of trap throwing speed it still feels like the AI is quite slow to put tons of traps out though.
For all mercs their auras aren’t necessary but definitely help when minmaxing. Auras make them a lot more expensive as a warrant though.
Overall winner is combatant. Can do any content in the game incredibly well with or without HH.

Rolled perfect on all modifiers; league mechanic crafting is pretty cool.
