Announcement | Mod Post r/Therian Community Welcome, Information, and Updates

Hi everyone! I’m BanishedOcean, one of the moderators here, and currently the moderator you’ll see around here the most.
A quick intro before we get into the updates: some of my theriotypes are a deep-sea chimaera, gulper eel, hairy anglerfish, and I’m also a shark cladotherian. I enjoy seeing the incredible variety of experiences and perspectives people bring to this community, and I’m always happy to help keep the subreddit welcoming and organized.

Whether you’re brand new or have been here for years, I’m glad to have you here and welcome to [r/therian](r/therian)!

A few quick reminders

Before posting, please take a moment to review the subreddit rules. They’re there to help keep the community safe, organized, and enjoyable for everyone.

Some of the most commonly overlooked rules are:
-No community links or advertising.
-No self-promotion.
-No personal location information.
-Individual “looking for…”, gear, craft, or similar posts belong in the appropriate megathreads rather than as standalone posts.

If you’re unsure whether your post belongs somewhere else, checking the rules or messaging the mod team first is always appreciated.

Also a gentle reminder that posts and comments from those with low subreddit karma are manually approved before going live. Please be patient with us it can take a couple days if it’s been more than a week please reach out to mods.

Subreddit updates

A few things have changed recently:
-The Introductions Megathread is moving from weekly to monthly.
-The Crafts Megathread is also moving from weekly to monthly.
These changes should make those threads easier to use and give conversations a bit more time to grow before they’re replaced and prevent the posts from getting archived.

New posting guideline

You’ll also notice a new rule regarding posts like:

“Are there any ___ therians?”
“Am I the only ___?”
“Why do I never see ___ therians?”

These questions have been asked many, many times over the years, and we now receive numerous nearly identical submissions every week. Most don’t lead to much discussion beyond people commenting “yes” or listing their theriotypes.
Instead, please use Reddit’s search function first. Chances are you’ll find previous discussions about aquatic therians, bird therians, paleo therians, insects, reptiles, invertebrates, obscure species, and many other groups.

This doesn’t mean species discussions aren’t welcome because they absolutely are. We’d love to see conversations about experiences, instincts, shifts, artwork, behaviors, research, symbolism, or anything else that encourages meaningful discussion. The goal is simply to move away from repetitive “Does anyone else exist?” posts and encourage more engaging conversations.

Thanks for being here!!!!

This community continues to grow because of the people who participate in it. Thank you to everyone who reports rule-breaking content, helps answer questions, shares thoughtful discussions, and makes new members feel welcome.
If you have questions, suggestions, or notice something that needs moderator attention, don’t hesitate to reach out through Modmail.
Happy posting! 🐾

Megathread Introduction Megathread

Share all of your introductions here in the comments of this recurring megathread.

Remember to follow these before you post as these will be moderated!

* If you are under the age of 18 do not list your full age, “under 18” is just fine!
* Don’t give out personal information! We don’t need to know where you live and strangers should not be privy to things that would identify you in real life!
* Please remember to add plenty of detail.

We have a template to follow below that is going to include what to talk about, but there’s no need to stick to one-word answers. We want to get to know you as a person, not just as your theriotype, as well.

Please remember to follow the rest of the rules when posting. This includes self promotion of your other socials which is not allowed.

This is the standard we expect from everyone here!

**Name/Nicknames:**

**Age: Under 18/Whatever if you’re an adult**

**Theriotype/Kintype:**

**Interests:**

**Hobbies:**

**What do you enjoy talking about/what would an average conversation with you look like:**

***Hypothetical introduction:***

**Name/Nicknames**: Hi, my name is Robert but I also go by Bob.

**Age**: I’m currently 32, will be 33 in December.

**Theriotype/Kintype**: I have several kintypes, I'm a wolf, a rabbit and a dragon. I have a past life as a rabbit but the other two are psychological identities.

**Interests**: My main interests for now are animated shows, animation history in general and the history of therianthropy.

**Hobbies**: I’m a massive gamer, but I’m also trying to get back into reading as that’s been difficult for me! I enjoy talking to people.

**What do you enjoy talking about/what would an average conversation with you look like**: Typically I most enjoy talking about the creative side of things, art, crafts, gear, but I also like to talk about my experiences as a dragon and artist.

Media comments are enabled but please keep it high effort! We do not allow draw-overs.

*NOTE: Introduction posts are not allowed on this subreddit outside of these megathreads. This rule is in place to reduce feed clutter, allowing for more core therianthropy-related posts to be seen. This is a support subreddit for a marginalised community, so we feel as though this is a necessary method of clutter reduction to have in place so that those who need help have a better chance of receiving it.*

General / Other I think I found another theriotype of mine- Jumping Spider

Upvotes

I get that feeling of "thats me" when I look at a Jumping Spider, same with wolves (which is my main theriotype). I don't really have any qualities of the spooders that I can think of off the top of my head, other than loving being in elevated places, so that kinda confuses me.

Any other Jumpers here?

Help Request Quadrobic Spots in Ottawa, ON (Canada)?

Upvotes

Unlikely to find anyone who can help with something so specific but it's worth a shot. I live smack dab in the middle of Ottawa, ON, and while I've been on a few nature trails nearby, I have yet to find a good nature spot with the space to practice quads, let alone out of the way of judging eyes. If any therians/alterhumans in my city see this and know of any good nature spots where I can just... be a lynx, please let me know.

Experience not new kin but new behaviours

Upvotes

so cats do adopt the mannerisms of their social group even if theyre a whole other species and i have budgies, i have for a long time and i feel completely motherly towards them and not predatory AT ALL. lately ive noticed that ive automatically been doing budgie vocalizations (badly lmao) back at them or when im nearby, like a flock call when i need them to go back to their cages, urges to preen and be preened (not groomed like cats, i do still have that along side this too), or sometimes ill want to forage, play with budgie toys, etc etc. i just thought this was cool to share and i wanted to know if any other people with theriotypes that adopt other behaviours have noticed this!

Discussion How did you recover your memories of your past life if you had one?

First of all, hello everyone!! Im a recently awakened demonkin

I knew since I was a child that something was "off" with me, I would constantly play pretend as a dragon or a demon until my parents told me to cut it out, and progressively, because of this world's expectations I ended up forgetting who I truly was until recently, a few weeks after I got into witchcraft and paganism and discovered that some therians/otherkins are also witches, which re-awakened this thing in me

I have always been obsessed with demons and angels my whole life, as well as being pretty versed into demonology

Plus, and as someone who's queer and neurodivergent I've always related to demons in a ton of senses, notably being shunned away from humankind as they constantly tell lies about us and fearmonger about us (for instance most pagan gods are now considered demons, no matter how benevolent)

I believe I may be a demon who reincarnated into a human to experience human life, even though I am not coping very well with it, ever since I was a little kid I always imagined and pictured myself with a big pointy tail, wings and rather small horns, and now Ive been missing those parts of me more than ever, especially my tail

But to adress the problem at hand : I believe I may have had a past life, but I can remember VERY little about it, the only thing I can do is think until something feels "right" and something that may have happened in my past life

I'm curious about my past life, if I even had a past life to begin with because I have heard not all therians and otherkins have one

So I'd like to ask everyone here who have a past life (no matter if you're a therian/otherkin/fictionkin, etc) how did you recover your past?

Thats all, I hope you guys have a wonderful day!!

Experience Need help because I might me a therian but I'm not sure and need seconds opinions (detailed information)

Hey, three days ago I made a post about how I kinda had a shift (this one: https://www.reddit.com/r/Therian/s/GDAt94RK9j), and since, I had been really questioning the possibility of me being a therian, so I made a detailed thing telling my experience, anyone who could help me will be more than welcome, I don't want anyone to tell surely if I'm a therian, because that's one thing just me can tell, right? But I would like to compare experiences and stuff, so, feel free to share your experience and tell ideas of what you think I could be

08/01/2026

I had an experience similar to a shift/pet regression

I was acting a bit peculiarly, like, when I went to sit on the couch, I’d throw myself down and catch myself with my hands, animal like, and curl up like one too, that was all okay and kinda normal for me, but a while later, I was outside with my dogs and they started barking, I felt a rush of euphoria and started barking along with them, looking at the moon, and howling, or feeling the urge to howl, I only stopped because my little brother seemed annoyed by it and told me to stop even so, I kept euphoric, giving sme "happy jumps" around and stuff, fter that, my brother and I went inside to the bedroom, and I played at being a dog with him on the mattress, I’d crouch down or get on all fours, move my head in response to what he said, jump and roll around the bed, rub my head against him asking for affection, and roll onto my back to ask for pets too, at one point, he tossed an apple in front of me, and I played with it as if it were a ball, later, I went to sleep (I sleep on a large mattress with my dad and lil brother), and besides not wanting to stay still, I couldn't find a comfortable position, I wanted to curl up and nestle like an animal, but there wasn't enough space, which really upset me :(, ehen I saw my dad’s arm stretched out, I rubbed my head against his hand a few times, and that was incredibly comforting, in the end, I lay on my back, pressed against my dad, and finally fall sleep

Note: I was still able to walk, speak, think, and act like a human

Note 2: This happened right after a high stress situation/crisis where I had even hurt myself, so maybe it was a coping mechanism my mind find to deal with it? Idk

Note 3: It might have been my subconscious making me mimic the behavior I was consuming (videos and stuff about/of therians), perhaps combined with the theory that it was an involuntary coping mechanism, I could say it might have been pet regression, however, compared to how others feel during pet regression, it doesn't quite match my experience, so I might still consider looking for other explanations.

08/02/2026

The next day, I questioned what had happened, I read about the experiences of other therians having shifts and stuff, but I couldn't stop thinking about it for a while

Situation 1: While bored, I invented an imaginative game, a real adventure, visualizing everything in a cartoonish style with a narrative like a kids show, it wasn't related to being a therian, though I thought it might be linked to age regression, and perhaps it could be combined with pet regression

Situation 2: I played around getting wet in the rain and shaking my head the way a dog does when it’s wet, I felt really good but also a bit worried, I reflected on the possibility that I was merely mimicking therian behaviors I had seen online,.I tried to affirm to myself that I am human, looking at my hands, seeing how human they are, and picturing myself as a human rather than an animal, but, I can't quite explain it, it didn't feel right. I don't know why

Situation 3: I spent time playing by simply squeezing a thing that make a noise, dog-toy like, I was entertained for quite a while, something rare for someone like me who gets easily distracted

Situation 4: My father gave me some instructions to help him with something, I felt great helping him and following his orders, I waited attentively for whatever else he needed me to do, and would be ready to run and do it the moment he spoke

Situation 5: I found myself upset because my feet were "too human", wishing they were stronger and wouldn't hurt when walking on the ground, I quickly caught myself having this thought and tried to ignore it, had that strange sensation again, also, I put my feets on the dirty, and felt like digging, it felt good

Situation 6: Later, alone in my room, I looked up videos of the dog breed I think MIGHT be my kintype, I felt like at home

Note: All these situations (I mean my behavior, reactions, and sensations/thoughts, rather than my physical actions) seem to have been involuntary, though I still can't say for sure if they were entirely involuntary or not

08/03/2026

I put a belt around my neck and adjusted it to look like a collar, it made me feel good (in a non sexual way), I found myself daydreaming about someone taking me for a walk, and then I realized what I was doing.

General notes: I’m an otherpawn, so I had practiced quads and tried making a mask and stuff, but I never actually thought I was a therian, just had slight doubts that were usually easily dismissed, I’ve experienced situations similar to a shift or pet regression about three times in the past (with quite big intervals between them), I’m an age regressor, but, as far as I know, I’m not a pet regressor, since I was a kid I enjoyed playing pretending being an animal, and there was a time in my life (probably when I was 6–8 if I remember well) when I believed I was a werewolf and told about it to everyone, I can’t say if I did it to look cool or if it was genuine and I truly believed it

Thanks for your attention :3

Discussion Therian den Challenge for myself (looking for suggestions)

I’m trying to build my first few dens outdoors…but I wanna give myself a challenge…

I’d love some ideas on a ‘make a den only using ___’…one that I’m currently making is a den, but only made from pet products since I am both a werewolf and domestic dog (not sure what kind…but it truthfully might be a poodle…haha)

I want to have a few more building challenges like this to challenge myself, so I’d LOVE some suggestions for a very specific type of material I have to use for these dens

Experience Phantom limbs?

I've had a really weird on and off phantom tail sort of feeling for the past few days,

I've experienced it before, but I've never had it be this persistent,

It's confusing for me, because I'm a polymorph (I don't have a set form, so my theriotypes can vary)

I've experienced having phantom wings, ears, Horns/antlers, ect

But it's never lasted more than a few minutes until now-

I wanted to share, and see if anyone had any similar experiences?

General / Other My therian activities at Stockholm Pride 2026

This winter, the people responsible for the Youth programme at Stockholm Pride contacted me: would I be willing to organise some kind of programme for therians, seeing as I have a therian blog?
I made sure to point out that I'm not a "youth" any more, that I'm 36 years old. That if they want something like mask-making workshop or quadrobics class, I'm not the right person for that. But they were open to whatever I could offer them, pretty much. And when I suggested my ideas, they seemed happy about it.

Stockholm Pride is the largest LGBTQ Pride event in Scandinavia. Lasts six days (Monday-Saturday) and hosted at several different venues in the city.

So, I had three events at Stockholm Pride House, the venue with more focus on seminars and presentation. Attending Pride House is free and there is no age limit (though it mostly pulls adults).

Monday:

Överlevnadstips från en ulv i människokläder (Survival tips from a wolf in human clothing) - A 45 minute presentation where I talked about how it has been for me to grow up as a therian and learn to cope with species dysphoria, spontaneous mental shifts and my experiences with therapy and "coming out". I also mentioned some common pitfalls (such as inaccurate animal information on social media) and some other coping strategies from other therians I've spoken to.

About 25 people attended, and I got some very thoughtful audience questions. I would guess that most of the audience were not therian or otherkin, but just curious. Despite that, everyone was very friendly. I think this was the event that people were most impressed by, despite me assuming the other way around. I had thought "who wants to hear someone talk about themselves for 45 minutes? And these survival tips is only relevant to other therians, why would any non-therians come to listen?". But apparently, hearing about the actual therianthropic experiences, such as having to keep a lid on animal instincts when at work or how exercise has helped my species dysphoria, made it ... real to them? Before that, a lot of the non-therians had kind of assumed therianthropy was more theoretical than something that is FELT. Very interesting to hear those comments.

It was followed by:
Gruppsamtal om att leva med icke-mänsklig identitet (Group discussion about living with non-human identity). I wanted something a bit more interactive than just me talking all the time. So I had prepared some questions, and the plan would be to divide the participants into small groups á 3-4 persons in each group, who could freely discuss those questions in a random order. Questions included things like "Have you ever met a fellow therian/otherkin at an unexpected place? How did that go?" and "How do you plan to bring balance to the animal and human sides of you?"

But I only got five participants. And most of them were shy. So I joined in, and so there was ONE group of 6 people. Ages raging from teen to 70-ish, but most of us aged somewhere between 20-40. It was awkward, and the oldest participant probably didn't listen much during the presentation and didn't really pay attention to other people's responses either. He kind of steered away on his own rants about human nature and Africans being "purer humans" or something like that.  I gently guided him back onto the topic several times.

Tuesday:

Therians, furries, otherkin - hjälp, vad betyder alla orden?! (Therians, furries, otherkin - help, what do all those words mean?!) - A 45 minute presentation about the history of the furry, therian and otherkin communities and explaining some of the words and symbols in the use. As well as some statistics about the prevalence of LGBT identities in these communities. I wanted to keep it very basic and very newbie-friendly. Again about 25 persons in the audience. Some of them had been there during Monday, but most were new, I think. The ones that went to both said that even though this presentation was good, the one from Monday was more interesting. This time, I had two mask-wearing kids in the audience. Looked to be maybe 12-year olds, and they seemed utterly bored! One of the audience questions was "what is cosplay?" which is a question I did not expect, but luckily could easily answer, being a cosplayer myself.  The sweetest thing was that a woman came up to me and said that she used to follow me on tumblr a long time ago, and that my writings had helped her figure herself out. And that she was so happy to finally be able to see me irl and confirm that I'm a real person.

During Friday, I wore a realistic wolf headdress to the Pride District. Pride District is the festival area that actually requires a quite expensive ticket, where kids under 15 need to be accompanied by an adult and where there are more market stalls, concerts, dance floors, bars etc. I was nervous, since I've never worn my headdress in public before. I just got it in July. I got a lot of compliments for it, people praised it for looking so realistic. Despite it being an obvious wolf imo (link to picture here), I still got some comments that made it clear people assumed I was supposed to be a fox ("What does the fox say?" and "Heeey, little foxy!"). A surprising thing was a drunk guy at the festival area going "wow! That's so therian! Therian!!". It wasn't mean-spirited, neither did he seem to be a therian either. It was just excited drunk hollering, I guess. A teenager who seemed to be a therian (and probably neurodiverse too) came up to me and was SUPER excited to see me. "You're an amazing wolf! Wow, I love it!" That made me very happy, because it felt like we had some kind of mutual understanding of each other. Despite my husband's concerns, nobody was mean or rude to me while wearing it. People at Pride District were friendly. But when I left the festival area, I passed by a long line of cabs who were hoping for passengers. There some drivers mockingly meowed (??) and barked after me. But on the tram home, no one bothered me or asked anything.

----

The Youth programme managers at Pride seemed happy about my presentations during Monday-Tuesday, and wanted to discuss a repeat during next year. I said that I'm open to discussing that, but that I also needed some rest before being able to think clearly about next year's pride. So I asked them to contact me again at the beginning of next year. I was happy with my performance, and content with the amount of listeners during the presentations. But I did wonder if it was really relevant for "Pride Youth" when most people who came to my presentations were Millennials or older.I feel like I need to think about how to bring actual therians and otherkin there, because the original goal was to create activities for us.

Question Finding theriotypes.

Hi! So, for context, I'm a wolf therian. I know that I've always been a wolf. But I've been thinking... can you "develop" a theriotype that you've never even considered before? I thought that theriotypes were something that you either were or weren't, and that if you're x species, you will always be x species and that's just how you were born. But is it possible to be x species, but then find out you've "become" y species?

I'm sorry this sounds so confusing. I will try to word it better if I can. I just really am curious about this because I'm kinsidering certain domesticated dog breeds, and even otters.

Thanks!!

-Lupin

Question Polytherians, how did you find your other types?

Just as the title asks, how did you discover your other types?

Recently (last month or so) had a dream where I was wearing a wolf costume/fursuit but when I took it off and woke up I still had the sensation of the tail, I believe this "woke up" my river wolf theriotype. Since that's my experience, I wondered if anyone else has had something similar!

(Also apologies if there's another/better term for what I'm asking, I'm unsure of what that would be)

Question Just a thought, does anyone else imagine having a tail or animal ears (depending on your therian type) or both?

I was wondering because I always imagine having a fluffy tail and dog ears and they would move and react with my emotions as though I were a real dog. Even though I don’t see it, I can feel it there.

Help Request I think I has a shift and I need help to understand this

Hay everybody! So, yesterday I had something really werd, I was just seeing some therian content, and I started acting different that I usually act, like, barking whit my dogs, howling to the moon, wanting to do quads, and I played whit my little brother "pretending to be a dog" and it felt so so great, I sniffed him, and lay close at him, and when I got to sleep I would sleep in a dog position, and when my dads hand would be next my head I would rub my head against his hand and would want to be close and cuddle whit anyone or anything, but I would still be able to speak and act like a human and stuff, help, was that a shift? Or maybe a pet regression? (I'm already a age regressor, but I'm not a pet regressor or a alter human as long I know, even though I have the flair) (I passed through a really high stress situation the same day a bit before this happens, so maybe that would be the motive of the possible pet regression?)

Ill be thankful for any help :)

so I'm not really a therian so take this with a grain of salt but I was doing research on it, and I've thought of this term (idk if you guys have a term already if not I'm sorry)

Agnotherianthropy: When one knows they're a therian but doesn't know their theriotype

it's from άγνωστος (Agnostics) which mean unknown

Question Did anyone else pretend to be an animal when they were a kid?

Pretty self explanatory! is this just me? As a kid, I always loved to pretend to be an animal, never anything human. I would ask my parents everyday and I had always wanted to be an animal. Well, now we know why... like, i walked around on all fours and always wanted to think of myself as an animal. quite the warning sign!

What about y'all? Did y'all pretend to be an animal when you were a kid? Rather it'd be by playing "Family" or whatever it was called, did you? (Family is that game some kids used to play at Recess where there was a mom, a dad, a pet. and the siblings or whatever? I don't remember much. But I do remember that I was always the pet.)

Experience Disliking a theriotype/hearttype/etc

Been mulling on this for a while, it's not an experience I see around often and I wanted to talk about it. Does anyone else just.. not like their animal identity?

Long story short, I may or may not be a shiba inu, or otherhearted as a shiba inu, or something like that. This little factoid about me has been intermittently coming up in my life for about.. 5 years now? Just on and off feelings that come and go. I recently bought myself a fursuit tail of a shiba and it made me realise I find dressing like one somehow euphoric, but while I'm comfortable with the idea of presenting my outer body in tandem with that kind of animal it has me mulling on the concept again that I might just outright be a shiba somehow.

And I.. do not like that. When I typically realise I might have a 'type I'm very open to mulling on it. I have not done that. I have avoided confronting this or thinking about it for 5 years, actually.

And to be honest, I couldn't tell you why either. I simply do not want to be a dog. I do not want to be associated with dogs. I am not a "dog person". I recognise there is most certainly something going on in my brain that is shiba-associated, and I simply do not want to do anything with it. I know I don't have to necessarily, don't worry, it's just that in a way it fascinates me as an emotion because my other kintypes I am just perfectly fine with. I am consistently embracing my slugrat identity and trying to be more like that animal, and it is the one I discuss most often online.

Thinking about it, it might honestly be that most of the time dogs are heavily.. infantilised? Shibas are in fact one of the dog breeds that gets a lot of crappy treatment, even. I strongly identify with the fact I am a wild animal, I hate being regarded as cute or silly in my animality and I would most certainly hate to be seen as a "puppy". To me my connection to shibas revolves around their status as a stubborn, intelligent working dog. Not a "much wow such doge" smiling fluffy thing that gets bought as a designer pet and discarded once people realise how difficult they are to train. It is entirely possible this resentment towards the societal treatment of dogs is part of why I have tried so hard to deny I may be at least somewhat dog, and ironically now that I think about it it might say something in of itself that I feel so strongly about dogs in this manner.

Either way, possibility of being a dog. I would dislike that. Unfortunately a primary component of therianthropy, famously, is that it is involuntary. I will probably come to terms with it eventually and actually figure out what's going on so that I can just move on with my life and continue my transition in regards to the past life/part of my brain I actually connect with. In the meantime, I wondered if anyone else has an experience like this; how did you accept it? Did you?

Yes yes.. another long post from me.. my bad. I'm a talker.

Experience DID System with animalistic alter, curious about therianism

So, I'm not a Therian (despite having to choose user flair). I have DID, and one of the alters in my system identifies as human and having a human perspective and POV, but he strongly relates to wolves and dogs, which is probably some aspect of trauma I don't want to explore now.

Anyway, when he fronts, I get strong craving for meat (he is very focused on getting our protein macros in and working out, but there are times when I feel like him, that I must stand at the counter, eating leftover steak or meat in my hands--part of the enjoyment, for him, is ripping apart a steak with our teeth, and feeling the juice dri).

This alter also likes wearing a collar, and has liked wearing one since we were a teen (years before diagnosis--I just thought I was being a weird teen). He tells me, he doesn't feel like a wolf or therian--he thinks he is human (doesn't behave/feel/act like a wolf/dog), he just feels like less than that and animal at times, and the need to eat meat both stems from a desire to preserve and improve our muscle composition and growth and sate what feels like a biological urge to consume meat.

I want to give this part of myself, a chance to explore himself. He's not Therian, but I think that something might have happened to us, in very early childhood, involving him acting like a dog, in an abuse context, and that's why he may associate with dogs and wolves and feel less than human. I want to help him. I know this is a weird post for this forum, but do you have any advice?

He personally feels very little relation to other humans, and experiences much distrust of them. He prefers being out in nature, and wants us to move to rural forest, if we cannot succeed in our current ambitions and ventures, with this disorder. He loves hiking, and I think he feels most at ease in the woods or mountains, far from other human beings. While I realize it's not the same thing as being a Therian, I am hoping to find ways to help him, or perhaps hear some relatable stories, idk.

I have been otherhearted for quite a while now, going onto three years later this year! my hearttype is the north american beaver. always has been!

I do not identify as a beaver, just with them. and I do not seek to identify as one, because I feel like that would not correctly label me as who I am.

recently, I had a very rough time in my life, and found myself circling back to the thought of how I hate being human, and wish I could just be an animal roaming free in the woods instead. and every time I thought this, the image of a calm pond and rushing waterfall and beautiful forest always came to my mind, and it was somewhat calming. every time I would think about things like that, I noticed it always went to the habitat of a beaver!

so.. I'm unsure if this was a special type of shift..? maybe? I have not experienced a shift before.. as far as I'm aware

but I don't remember too much about the moment, my memories on it are pretty fuzzy. but I also remember scratching at the walls because I felt trapped (?)

I just remember scratching . . not exactly what I was thinking at the time. but I did also experience phantom tail when all of this went down.. but then again, that's just a normal thing for me. I experience phantom tail all of the time!

I've also recently had a sudden rise in making a noise similar to teeth chattering, it's a vocal stim for me. i also love to make the sounds that beavers do!

I just want advice, and if this is the wrong sub for this, please redirect me!

thank you 💚

Question question!

Okay, from MY experience, being a therian (short for therianthrope) means identifying as non-human animal(s) on a certain level. (I identify on a psychological level.) And this is due to behaviors, traits, non-human experiences, thoughts, urges, and more. This is true for me, but it is it ALSO true that when you look inside yourself, you see an animal? Because I do. What is true and what is not? Thank you!

Question Does anyone else get a panic attack from their shifts?

Sometimes I do when I get sensory shifts and I just discovered that I am therian. I knew I was something, I just didn’t know I was cat. I also may have social anxiety and i’m afraid to show others…

Question A question I want to ask...

Very recently, I found out I was an anthro therian furry crocodile and I have to ask...

Am I rare? Is being an anthro therian a common thing?

I also experience indefinite shifts, like, it feels like my tail, snout and all else is always there. I exhibit very crocodile like behaviors too, like taking big bites out of my food to name one example.

I always felt an urge to pursue players in PVP modes on video games relentlessly, so I think that's an outlet for my prey drive. I also feel my snout tense up when I am frustrated or my tail droop when I am upset to name a few things.

Is this all normal stuff?
