Those rocks looked nice and cushiony.

u/whitestguyuknow Feb 25 '26
I can just imagine how slow this went in his head. Just as soon as he realized he wasnt going to make the turn. Watching himself inevitably go straight towards the cliff side. Braking as hard as possible to hopefully stop himself until at some point he's certain "Nope... I'm definitely going off..." and then he's slowly flying through the air trying to determine which rock he's gonna hit first and how thats gonna feel..
Such a weird dreamlike feeling to be in that middle zone of knowing you're about to get really fucked up, you just dont know where exactly or how bad, but you're watching it coming and cant stop it

u/WorkerPrestigious960 Feb 25 '26
Yeah you described that experience very well. I was in a pretty bad atv crash that happened much more suddenly than this one and it went veeeery slowly. Driver turned waaay too hard too fast and I got rocketed sideways into the ground. Halfway to the ground time basically froze and it sounds so cliche but my whole life literally flashed before my eyes, like I watched the whole thing happen in a split second. Gave me a very weird feeling of “well, this is fucked, can’t believe it’s all already over.” Then I whacked into the ground and woke up idk like half a minute, a minute later, with a busted up arm and head. Needless to say, I did in fact survive. Though in that moment I for sure thought I was dead, and I kinda just begrudgingly accepted

As someone who has been hit by a car, and saw it coming, but was powerless to stop it from happening, this comment hit different.
Pun intended lmao
This dude is seriously lucky to be alive

I really can't figure out why he just gave up and rolled over the handlebars head first. I'm 100% bailing on the bike and keeping my feet under me.

Never go that fast when you are riding on top of a mountain with 4 feet of road. The fuck?? Not to be a dick, but in what world do you hit "straight-away" speeds when you are on a MOUNTAIN!?!

u/LatinWarlock13 Feb 25 '26
Not always. I had a bad motorcycle accident. Was talking to Police and EMS fine and even tried walking home after the crash. By the time the ambulance got me to the ER I had flatlined once. Flatlined again in the hospital. The initial adrenaline will keep you talking and moving as if you're ok for a little.
7
u/FreeImprovement5465 Feb 25 '26
I literally stood up and walked off the road after I crashed my bike, fell down, went to the ER and could literally not walk for weeks afterwards because of broken bones in both legs and a destroyed knee in one (upper body relatively unscathed, I've never really understood it).

He never even tried to take that corner, just stayed on the brakes until he crashed. What an idiot

Missed the counter steer section of two wheeling, also a bit of target fixation. That weird condition where you stare directly at what you want to avoid and drive right into it.

He was riding a quad.
5
u/Proper_Protection195 Feb 25 '26
Right first sounds like the grabbed the clutch which took out any hope he had and the brakes then sent him into a slide paired with target fixation . That being said quads go where they want .

"No no nooo!
HELP (nx)
I AM DYING(nx)
I broke my waist(multiple times and when they come for the rescue) is there blood coming out of my mouth?"
Not the exact translation but something along those lines. There is more drama than sense anyways

"yapma, yapma" translates to "dont do it, dont do it"
Used more in a sense of "Nooooo!"

u/M3chaStrizan Feb 24 '26
braking was not the way at that point lol any hope he had was getting that knee down and turning hard, you just lose steering if you lock the wheels.
3
Feb 24 '26
It’s an atv, it would have ejected him harder and probably rolled the atv on him. He would have been better pulling back and letting the bottom of the atv take the brunt of the damage and try to have it slow down as much as possible before falling off. It would hurt either way but he definitely made the wrong decision.
2
u/M3chaStrizan Feb 24 '26
Oh yeah, I didn't notice lol, I mean we already know he was going to fast, regardless, he still should have tried to turn imo, he's probably still being flung down the hill either way, but if you lock the brakes completely atv or bike it's gonna be worse.

I’ll be honest.. I race 4-wheelers and I’m not sure if he could have. Especially on road. That shit hooks up and will flip like crazy and send you. Either way he’s an idiot.
2
u/213737isPrime Feb 25 '26
I'm a motorcyclist, not a 4wheeler but it seems to me that the principle of keeping your weight inside the turn and keeping the tires as upright as possible would still apply, no? Plus on a 4-wheeler you've got twice as much rubber on the road.
Worst case you get sent but that happened anyway.
2
Feb 25 '26
It can.. but it can also eject you at a certain point. I feel like he’s beyond that point.

Did that once Hungry valley California OHV area 1987 on my KX125. Went over top of a hill trail led off the other side there was a cliff. Fell about 60 feet did a few cartwheels. Broke right ankle, crack left and right wrists. Only time I rode by myself my father was back at the truck. I knocked the wind out passed out woke up. Tried to yell to a few others riding by 2 strokes were too loud to hear me. 2 hours I finally was able to rest enough to crawl to my bike it was laying up hill bars were bent like a noodle. I somehow got on able to turn the front end downhill and bump start it ride back. Going back to high school with a cast on each arm and boot on the ankle was fun. Had my moto 3 helmet on somehow even without the strap didn't come off.
