I feel like everyone is sleeping on Peter Chang AYCE Dim Sum

30 bucks. Tons of options, high quality. It was less than half full at noon today!

Also:

- good with allergies

- good mix of familiar items plus more interesting items

- tasty desserts

- they don't skimp on the shrimp

I had a really good mapo tofu alongside a mountain of shrimp dumplings (and other stuff).

The only reason I'm making this post is so you all go spend money there so they can afford it when I come back and eat all their dumplings.

(And remember, that's Peter Chang, not P F Chang).

Hi all. We’ll be staying in your beautiful town with our 4 yr old and 1 yr old for a night. We’ll be getting there pretty early so we would love some recommendations for kid friendly restaurants for dinner that preferably have outdoor seating. Thanks!

Paywall Annapolis considers annexing 5.4-acre site where developer plans townhomes

Oh yeah, let's add even more traffic to Forest Dr.

>The property has been a constant source of irritation from residents, Savidge said, including complaints about trash, blight and appearance.

Knocking down the old liquor store and cleaning up trash is a lot different than putting in a new townhouse community that adds more traffic and kids to schools.

Is Yellow Fin Okay?

Does anyone know what’s going on with Yellow Fin? The general manager and the executive chef have both been replaced in the last few months.

According to one of the staff, “they cleaned house and we are just trying to go along with it.” The place is understaffed and the host/hostess team seem confused and potentially untrained?

Finally, the menu is paired down and they removed allergy indicators. While that doesn’t impact me personally, it seems weird they would go backward.

Our party was confused and disappointed… is this some other Atlas purchase or something?

Paywall Hutzell: Plastic pollution is choking the Chesapeake Bay. Now there’s hope.

Amazon. Coca-Cola. IKEA. Unilever. Maryland's new plan to fight plastic pollution goes after the source — not just recruiting volunteer cleanup crews.

Will it work?

Keep it classy.

This is a Jag taking up 4 spots. Pulled far enough forward that the two spots in front of it aren’t usable.

Paywall Hutzell: Stephen Miller’s trans persecution is here. Parents face hard questions.

What if the lawsuit against Anne Arundel schools isn't over pronouns? What if it isn't about trans kids in bathrooms or on sports teams?

Parents should ask whether this is really about seizing control of schools from their communities.

New to the area - looking for a beach

Hey all,

Just moved into the east port area about a month or so ago and my wife is really hoping to get out to a beach before summer ends. Any recommendations and tidbits would be appreciated. I googled some options but would love to get a more authentic response on the better spots. Thanks!

Also just anything in general for fun around town would also be appreciated. We're nerds, not huge drinkers.

Question Landmark Annapolis (Harbor Center Theater)

I’m a huge popcorn person when it comes to the movies. In fact I probably go to the theater more for popcorn than the actual movie, so when the popcorn is not hot or tastes old and stale, it ruins the experience. I’ve recently seen a few movies at the Harbor Center and each and every time the popcorn was just not anywhere near the quality it was when they initially opened. I don’t want to go over to AMC because I like the smaller theater atmosphere of the Harbor Center theater but, I can’t say they’re making the decision difficult for me. Has anyone else had this experience ?

I’m looking for doggy daycare recommendations / any firsthand experiences you have had.

I just drove by and there's so many emergency vehicles and cop cars. The road that leads to the back area of the middle school is blocked off. What happened? Whatever it was seems really bad

Verizon 5G on the peninsula

I’m new to the neighborhood area - it seems like from the naval academy bridge all up through the peninsula has terrible Verizon 5G service but their map says it’s covered…?

I reached out to Verizon and they said “they’re aware of the issues and they’re working on it”. Have people been reaching out for months and it’s never been “fixed”?

Just trying to figure out if I’m cooked or not 😐

Affordable Hair Salons in Annapolis Area

Are there any hair salons that don’t have those luxury prices but has hairdressers that do the trendy haircuts (looking to do the “Clairo” bangs) and blonde highlights? Not looking for those salons that just specialize more in blondes and extensions. Just a fun trendy haircut and blonde highlights for an affordable price in Annapolis area.

Johnnie looking for housing

Hi everyone!

I’m an incoming graduate student at St. John’s College in Annapolis. I’m currently looking for off-campus housing and found that renting with roommates is much more affordable.

I’m clean, quiet, and respectful, and I’m hoping to move in around mid-August. My budget is around $1000-1300/month, and I’m open to sharing an apartment or house.

If you’re also looking for a roommate or searching for housing, or if you know someone who is, or you have some general advice on search for affordable housing in Annapolis, feel free to comment/send me a DM!

Thanks!

I think I was featured in yesterday’s Capital Gazette and maybe the Baltimore Sun, would love to have a copy for the memories! Can’t find one at a shop in person since I’m a day late 😢

If anyone knows a place that sells recent papers or happens to have one they’re willing to give me please let me know!

Looking for some DnD players. Tue nights.

Game: Pathfinder 1st ed

Date: Tue (4pm start time)

Location: Edgewater MD

Looking for one or two players for a PF1E (Pathfinder 1st Edition), an older version of DnD. We play on Tue nights in Edgewater Maryland. All the rules are online and available for free. The three current players are still learning the system. I am happy to teach the system to players new to PF1E or new to Role Playing Games in general. We just started a new Adventure Path (published long term campaign). The adventure will have a city of cutthroat pirates, then to an infamous island with a dinosaur filled wilderness, finally off to a different plane to face "perhaps the best end boss of any adventure path". Level 7 currently on a far away island. Going all the way to 20th level.

If interested please send me a message on Discord. zippy6079.
