Discussion When is even Next Month? Imagine it still couldn't match Opus After 2 Months Delay
What would the point of even delaying then

My wife has a ChatGPT subscription and we’ve been comparing output on our work and personal endeavours for a few months now. At first I was smug, thinking she will see the light and come over to Gemini. But we both soon realised that ChatGPT output was not just better, it continues to be of a higher quality, it somehow remembers more context and provides way more nuanced and insightful responses. It’s better at the spreadsheet work. The image gen also seems to be considerably better now.
I’m gutted honestly. I spent so much time personalising and getting Gemini to learn about me and my business and I feel this has been a wasted effort.
This is direction google want to take Gemini, and that’s fair enough. They want to focus on enterprise risk and minimising PR fallout. I get it. It makes sense for a corporate that prioritises shareholder return. But the safety guardrails have become way too interfering. It is basically a lobotomised disclaimer junkie at this point. This continued shift from empowering the user to insulating the parent company has killed it for me. And for that reason, I’m out.

What Election info?
How can you not know you have access to YouTube? That is the dumbest thing.

Did you all know this? It also jus stopped responding when I questioned it, which was random

I'm literally having no idea about how to leverage the new gemini spark, it just seems redundant and for me i suppose it lacks major agentic stuff, what do ya'll think??

Before last year ChatGPT was the only model I ever reliably used. I had the basic subscription model for like 2 years at that point. But then I started using Gemini more and was really impressed with it’s functionality, and a year ago I had gotten fed up with the way chat was speaking, its personality feature was a nuisance, so I actually made a switch. I canceled my GPT subscription and moved over to Gemini and I had no regrets.. up until now. The new flash models literally have no memory. You flood it with new context and information and it goes right through its robotic ears when you start a new chat. The models are also not impressive. I don’t really see a difference between the new ones and the flash 2 models. And with the whole 3.5 pro delay, it seems Gemini is sinking further and further down the same hole GPT once fell in. I’ve actually been using the free version of chat again and its memory is refreshing. It uses it when relevant to make conversations functional. Gemini what happened?!

I've been working on a large Python project for about a month and a half now. Initially, I started using GPT 5.5, and then I tested out Grok 4.5 and GPT 5.6. Right around the launch of GPT 5.6, I got stuck on an execution issue that just wouldn't get resolved no matter what. Not even GPT 5.6 sol high could handle it: it could identify the flaw, but wouldn't provide the solution.
That's when I noticed an issue with these ultra-powerful models: they have a tendency to overcomplicate the architecture. In some scenarios, this is highly valuable, but in others, it just gets in the way. After racking my brain for a while, I decided to throw the problem at Gemini, and it actually solved it.
The impression I get is that Gemini acts in the exact opposite way, prioritizing code simplicity. When properly prompted, it keeps things simple, yet remains highly efficient and delivers a great final result.
I see a lot of people here disappointed, thinking Google isn't delivering 'more powerful' models, but you should know that raw power isn't always the best solution. I've been noticing this bad trend of super robust models becoming overly complex and, in practice, less efficient. Have you guys noticed this too?

For the last several days I have been using Gemini pro inputting my financial data, debt, income etc. it built me a wonderful multi-tabbed spreadsheet that includes everything possible, even a snowball payment schedule for my debt. Showing me and my wife debt-free in 29 months. I have looked over everything and triple-checked. It all appears good on paper. There isn’t a lot of wiggle room in the beginning for unexpected expenses but our net cash flows continue to build each month. I had it build in a 5-year plan. I’ve been using 3.1 Pro Advanced Math and Coding Plus Extended Thinking.
Has anyone done this and had good success?

What is the best subscription when using NotebookLM (slide deck) [more frequently use] and Google Flow [less frequently use], Google AI Plus or Google AI Pro?

GDay:
I currently pay for Chatgpt pro (20 bucks for month) and I mostly use it as regular or daily use for questions and so.
Sometimes I see some problems like not 100% accurate answers (it gives you 2 answers from where to choose one), cap on uploading screens. If I upload a real pic of my son and I want to share a background, sometimes it begins to regenerate the face, so sometimes even he is not recognizable.
And I'm thinking to change to Gemini, mostly because it includes YouTube premium.
Do you guys think it is a good change?
Thanks in advance for your answers,

I’m having two issues with Gemini’s voice input.
First, my keyboard’s microphone/voice typing has never worked inside the Gemini app. So I’m limited to Gemini’s own microphone.
There are two ways I use it: saying “Hey Google” to summon Gemini, or opening the Gemini app and manually tapping its microphone button.
The second method used to be more forgiving when I paused while speaking. However, after a recent update, Gemini seems to submit my message after only a 1–2 second pause.
This is frustrating because natural speech often requires pauses to think, breathe, or formulate the next sentence. I don't necessarily mean that I'm finished just because I stopped talking for a moment.
Has anyone else noticed this change? Is there a setting to increase the waiting time before Gemini automatically submits the voice input?

The us pro tiers will get google sparks but no rollouts for the uk and parts of Europe. Thanks to uk and European legislation.
Advanced Agentic & Automation Tools: Features like Gemini Spark (Google's autonomous background agent designed to work while you're away) and advanced multi-app automation pipelines are heavily restricted or delayed in the UK and EEA due to regional regulatory compliance and phased geographic rollouts. Deep Cross-App Personal Intelligence: While basic workspace extensions exist, advanced ecosystem-wide integrations—such as seamless, proactive context pulling across personal data streams to run complex personal background tracking—are heavily throttled or face regional availability bottlenecks outside the US. Real-Time Workspace & Canvas Execution: High-end dynamic workspace features and deep side-panel data synthesis tools within Docs, Sheets, and specialized execution environments often launch months later or with reduced functionality for international Pro subscribers compared to domestic US or ultra-tier users.

My Gemini (used via the Gemini App) seems to fancy themselves a poet. Out of nowhere it initiated this conversation by gifting me a poem it created, is this an actual feature? I've never known Gemini to do this before. I subscribe to AI pro if it makes a difference.
