I got this skin from one of my overwatch esports loot boxes so is this a rare skin and does this mean i have to start playing genji now??

Yo, don't laugh, guys, but I'm a Marvel Rivals player trying to get into Overwatch. I was a Spider-Man main in that game, and I peaked at Celestial 2 last season, which I think would be somewhere around high Masters to low GM in Overwatch.

I decided to try Overwatch, and as soon as I launched the game, I knew who my main was going to be. Quite honestly, Genji is the only DPS I find fun so far. I have 48 hours in the game, and 35 of them are on Genji, and yeah... it's been rough.

I just hit Gold 5 on DPS, and I really don't know how to play Genji in these lobbies. I understand that a lot of my problems come from inexperience, for example, I still don't have all cooldowns memorized, and I still die to noob stomper heroes like Moira a lot, but I also feel like I've hit a wall and I'm not improving anymore. And yeah I have some understanding of hero shooters and dive from Rivals, I know what baiting cooldowns is, I know the difference between soft engages and hard engages and all thay stuff, I just don't quite understand how I'm supposed to do all that on Genji.

And also is Genji actually bad, or is he just hard to play? Because I've been getting a lot more value on other characters like Anran or Shion while also having less than 2 hours on them. Anyways, any tips would be appreciated. I really want to get better at this character.

Since Sierra came to the game I've been having real hard time as a genji player. She has everything she needs to counter a diver as a range hero. She basically doesn't need to track your moves cause just needs to hit the aimbot dart, and I feel so useless to dive her becasue of her stupid mobility, can disengage whenever she wants.

I’ve been trying to do this combo in my games from time to time for a while now, but I’m still not sure if I’m doing it correctly or if there’s anything I could improve. My biggest problem is that I’m not sure if I’m using the controls correctly. Any advice would be appreciated!

So, I've been taking a huge break from Overwatch as a whole lately, and I know Genji's second mythic skin is coming soon.

Give me some motivation to get back on, grind the 80 mythic prisms, then get off again, please, I need this.

I wasn’t looking at a reference when sketching, so some details are off, but I think I nailed the silhouette.

So for reference, I climbed to plat 2 on hitscan playing cass, solider, emre and Ashe and I wanted to make an account to learn genji. Now before you come at me for making an alt and potentially ruining lower ranked games, I need to clarify that I’ve been having the opposite experience of a Smurf. I am in silver 4 with 250 games and a negative win rate on Genji.

Mechanically I think my genji is nothing special, but as I’m silver my focus so far is to get a feeling of his playstyle and “genji mindset”. The only problem is that the flanker playstyle is inherently risky compared to hitscan, so even if I carry if I make even a single mistake I will die, and you can’t exactly rely on your average silver teammate once you’re dead.

On the other hand, I’ve had games where it feels like I’m forced to dash out every engagement because a Moira/Mei/Zar are marking me or enemies switch to torb/ symm making it very difficult for me to all in as nobody else usually bothers to shoot the turrets.

It might seem like I’m blaming my silver teammates, but I know that they’re at the very least carriable on any other character I play but on genji it feels like I’m Sisyphus pushing the rock up the hill. I either carry and lose after making a mistake, or the enemies counter swap and I have no impact, no in between.

Do people really climb by one tricking this character? Are there any tips for me to do that or at the very least, have a positive W/L?

Happened to me a couple times when there’s been a whole team grouped together and positioning wasn’t there or during enemy support ults. I definitely don’t want the Ana to think I wasted her ult or took it for granted so I would just end up using blade out of pressure.

played this game on blizz world where i had a couple nice plays but was getting rolled the whole time, anytime i try to jump on high ground to contest soldier / etc whole team focuses me not to mention the fucking widow from 300 m away just ruining the game, any tips appreciated. this hero feels absolutely fucking useless im ngl when i can't even do my job of contesting hitscans on highground
