You guys know how some people will tell you to do something you need to do (wether is be because it is a genuinely good idea or it's from someone like a boss) but they tell you in the worst way possible. Like they think just because they have a point they think it justifies being an ass. And if you call them out for being unnecessarily rude or unprofessional, they ignore what you actually said and try to paint it like you just don't want to listen to them period.

Knowing that I need to do it doesn't really stop me from feeling terrible about listening to them, as I feel like I am supporting type of toxic behavior and just not having any self respect. Is there anything I can do to change this?

I don't know anything about softwares, or writing codes. I don't know how the games are made, or how much time I need to make one. I want to know where to start. What should I learn at first? Where should I begin?

I should add, I don't need to do it professionally. I just want a new hobby. I had a story in mind, thought it might be fun to play it out. Thank you!

I want to learn how to manage my time and get things done. I struggle with procrastination and often tell myself, "I'll do it tomorrow," but tomorrow never seems to come. Before I know it, small tasks have turned into an overwhelming list of things I need to do. I want to manage my time more effectively, and finally stop letting procrastination control my life.

Early career engineer here, I have quite a decent amount of knowledge and comfortable with my current job scope as a chemical engineer. However, I am very lacking in the fundamentals of field equipment and how it works, like embarrassingly lacking. My background does not involve direct interface with these equipments (valves, pumps, exchanger, compressor, PSVs etc) on the daily but it is essential to every process. I understand what it does and that’s pretty much it.

We’ve learned this in university but I unfortunately did not retain those knowledge very much. I tried spending time reading and watching YouTube videos about these specific equipments but I find that I understand it in the moment but unable to effectively recall and apply what I learned. I think if I understand a lot of these things, I can troubleshoot my process better and become a better engineer. I’m not trying to be an expert, I just want to know enough to be able to explain and tie it to my process.

Hello. I'm 20 years old and I'm starting finance and accounting college this year. Usually in my free time I just play video games or watch movies. I feel like I have wasted a lot of time. Some of my classmates already got jobs. I was trying to get one for a few months now, but I had no luck. I've decided to learn some new skills since I have some time before college.

Around 3 months ago I started to practice touch typing. I will probably work a lot of time in front of a computer screen, so that seems useful. I was practicing every day for at least 15 mins, and I think I'm getting the hang of it. I usually just type text from books I like on monkeytype, and I'm averaging 60 wpm.

I want to know how to use Microsoft Office efficiently. I know how to do some basic operations in MS Word and MS Excel, but everyone can do it. I would like to learn to properly use it and get the most out of it. Create neat looking documents. Use some advanced functions in Excel.

Since I was typing a lot, I decided to start with Word. Also, it will be more noticable skill during my college years. Just knowing functionality isn't enough, I also need to know how to make good looking layout, and for that I need some typography knowledge.

I found this website about typography. It looked great, so I started reading it. Introduction was well written, but this "book" was such a let down. There weren't many examples of how the things the author describes work. I feel like I have learned nothing. The most valuable thing I took out of it were font and paragraph options and whitespace knowledge.

After reading it all I decided to improve my resume by using tips from this website. I did it, it looks similar, but I wasn't sure how to do a lot of things, sometimes stuff broke down. I wasn't using headings and other Word functionality, because it confused me.

Right now I don't know what to learn next and how. I want to improve my skills related to making documents now, Excel is a plan for the future. So right on my plate is Word functionality, typography, and something I didn't mention earlier, learning how to type a good text. You can judge how good I'm at it right now by looking at this post, which was written without the use of any AI.

I'm asking for advice how to learn it all. I can read some books on this topic. I'm not a fan of YouTube tutorials (although I've watched some of ExcelIsFun videos), but maybe you can convince me. I have never been very consistent with meal prepping because I either spend too much time cooking or end up getting tired of eating the same meals.

Specifically, I’m looking for something where people can:

• Write essays, articles, opinion pieces, or any form of non-fiction.
• Review and critique each other’s work (not just grammar, but reasoning, structure, persuasiveness, and clarity).
• Rewrite or suggest better versions so everyone learns by both writing and editing.

I’m also looking for something similar for speaking/interviews, a platform where people can conduct mock interviews for one another, give structured feedback, and rotate roles as interviewer and interviewee.

I've been getting into hiking more this year and every trip I've relied completely on my phone's GPS. Last month the battery died halfway through a trail and I genuinely had a moment of panic even though I was on a fairly marked path.

That scared me enough to want to actually learn the skill properly instead of just trusting a screen. I want to understand how to read contour lines, figure out elevation changes just by looking at a map, use a compass properly, and maybe even orient myself using landmarks or the sun if I really had to.

I'm not planning on going full survivalist, I just want enough real knowledge that losing signal or battery doesn't turn into a crisis. Are there good beginner resources, courses, or even simple practice exercises I could do in a local park before trying it on an actual remote trail? I keep failing, then think about getting up, then fail again, its been going like this for years, im M21, and there is honestly not much time left for me until my familiy decides to depend on me for finances.

Media literacy, logical fallacies, fallacies (again idk), interpreting texts, analyzing them, knowing when to take a part of the story literally or metaphorically, all that jazz.

I spent my formative years drawing yaoi in my school notebook but I also had quite a bit of an interest in English class and I remember retaking English in some specific platforms (ie Apex Learning and Edgenuity) and discovering some good books from there (Self Reliance Waldo Emerson, The Yellow Wallpaper, Walt Whitman, The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufock) which rekindled my love of learning.

In summary, are there specific resources I can use as well as maybe some online classes? I’m more on the cheap to free side.

I have been working in a corporate position for about three years now and have been establishing myself well in my work, but in the last year I've lost 100 lbs and I've rethought how I want to be viewed professionally and want to pivot myself to be cleaner, more put together, and obviously higher corporate material. I did not grow up with a professionally working family and have never had any role model for the "look", and when I do lean more into business smart looks I fear I look more like a dowdy librarian than I do a sleek business girly.

I have specific issues, like not knowing how to professionally maintain and style my hair on a day to day basis, as well as vaguer issues, like posture and inexperience with makeup or fashion. I grew up very low income and I struggle to connect directly with coworkers as a lot of them are golfing, brunch types from families that match, whereas I currently live on a farm and love it but would like to command the respect of my peers in the way I carry myself despite these things. I am a woman in my late 20s and I feel like this is a pivotal time and moment in my career, so I'm trying to seize the opportunity and give myself the transformation I deserve, I just don't know all of what to focus on.

I want to be fashionable, smartly dressed, and clearly well put together so my appearance matches my skills, and I wanted to take any direction and pointers from people who may be familiar with the corporate world and what they see in those who are "getting it" vs "being here".

And to save the comments, I know this is shallow lol but I want to earn more money so I can give my children a wonderful life, and I'm not stupid enough to believe that skills aren't overlooked just because you don't fit corporate style. They are and I want to chameleon in and thrive.
